If these steps didn't work for your Canon camera, here's 10 steps to wireless connect your camera to a computer if needed. 1. Press the MENU button to display the menu. 2. Under the tool tab, set Auto power off to Disable if necessary. 6. Select Wi-Fi function 7. Select the computer option 8. Select Easy connection then select OK 9. On your computer find the SSID (now displayed on the camera) within the wifi settings. So it'll be the same as connecting to any wifi. The Encryption key (also displayed on the camera) is what you'll use as the password. Once you're connected select OK on your camera when it says Start paring devices. 10. Open the EOS Utility program on your computer. If you don't have it yet you can download it here www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/self-help-center/eos-utility Once the program is up, and you're still on the camera's wifi connection, select Paring over WiFi/LAN, select the camera then OK. On your camera select OK when it shows the connection to your computer. After this, as long as you have the EOS Utility program installed, it should start right away.

I downloaded the utility program and it says I have to agree on some terms..and when I looked at the terms, they say that you cannot use any editing program to change the software...and I actually wanna edit some videos at my computer...what should I do? Should I just agree and edit regardless of the terms? Or will there be a problem?

@@dpirate yeah I worked on it last night and got it all downloaded and working after talking to my friend who does a lot of photography. But it still doesn't detect it via USB after plugging it in.
If the USB cord isn't damaged and you have the wifi option off on the camera (as shown in this video) it should work. Maybe try using another USB cord with another device (like your phone) to see if it's the computer maybe.

Searched the house for over an hour for a second cable, didn't help. Reinstalled the software twice....still nothing. Tried all different usb ports...nope. Found this vid...solved the problem in the blink of an eye! Thanks man!! I can confirm this does the trick for the EOS 2000D.

How did you get the display to show on your camera while streaming it onto the computer? When I connect my camera to the computer I also my video display on my camera
Maybe... it's hard to say since I haven't tried it myself. But if you have a Canon camera the Canon Utility program may work. You could just make a display window on your computer with it. Here's my video on it if needed ua-cam.com/video/oX0MGjAWzBM/v-deo.html It's for using a Canon camera as a webcam but you could take the steps you need from it.
I was just about to send my camera off to get repaired thinking the connection was broken. Simple solution turning off WI-FI. This has just saved me ££££££'s Thank you so much.

Sorry for the late reply. But unfortunately the SX620 isn't listed to be compatible with the Utility program from what I saw on the Canon site.

This is SO HELPFUL!!! Read at least instructions from 5 websites yet nothing. This was the only thing helped me

How did you get the display to show on your camera while streaming it onto the computer? When I connect my camera to the computer I also my video display on my camera
I'm not sure, because with most cameras the display view turns off when it's connected via USB.

Maybe... it's hard to say since I haven't tried it myself. But if you have a Canon camera the Canon Utility program may work. You could just make a display window on your computer with it. Here's my video on it if needed ua-cam.com/video/oX0MGjAWzBM/v-deo.html It's for using a Canon camera as a webcam but you could take the steps you need from it.
I was just about to send my camera off to get repaired thinking the connection was broken. Simple solution turning off WI-FI. This has just saved me ££££££'s Thank you so much.

I’ve been trying to do this by connecting HDMI with no luck. Do you know if connecting via USB is the only option? For reference I have the Canon Rebel T7
Yes, USB is the only option in general when it comes to cameras. The HDMI option is more for displaying the cameras images on TVs and such.
