Collectors will pay more than its value to have something that big in their collection. Dont melt it!! Put it to auction. Very public auction. Advertise!!
A nugget that size in its natural state is worth so much more than its melt value. I've got a 2 oz nugget that I've worn around my neck for the last 20 years. Not all the time, it's too heavy for that. On a leather thong so it doesn't cut into my neck. It's a beautiful nugget, it would be a crime against nature to melt it down. It actually looks like a mermaid sitting on a rock. A natural work of art. I wish I could share a photo with you. The same with your nugget, a crime against nature. At current melt price your nugget if it were pure would be worth about $69,000.00 US. It's clearly not pure but still worth the $69K or more from the right collector.
I watched this video start to finish, but came back to drop a comment! I just wanted to say how happy I am for you and your family! what a lifetime achievement, something you will never forget to your last day. It's wonderful when hobbiests are rewarded in such grand ways.
Thanks so much for watching @Healthfighthunt this sure was a day I wasn't expecting to ever happen. 7 years of digging and detecting certainly paid off! Go get that detector and enjoy⛏️ Cheers heaps🙂
Yo in gold rush they found a 6oz nugget and it was worth 70k. Large nuggets like that are worth exponentially more than have 30oz of just gold flakes. A 30oz nugget is prob worth 250k maybe even more
@@michellepernula872 Michelle you know nothing who in their right mind would pay 3x the amount. Theyre paying like $350 a gram lol you'd have to be a full on moron. There is nothing special about this nugget... its just bigger than most pieces. It's not a crystalline gold or in a unique shape it's just a clump of gold.. would you pay 3 times it's value for it? If so then you're an idiot
@@michellepernula872 show me proof of it selling for anything over 150k aud and I'll be VERY surprised. I think its overpriced at that.. it is by weight/cost
@@michellepernula872 you could buy the same amount in smaller increments and then just smelt it into a unique shape that looks better than his nugget... like I said there is nothing special for it to fetch anything even close to double its money not even 50% more. Heck not even 20%
Lucky Luke is so beautiful. I would kiss that huge GOLD massive hunk of glory! I hope you, Helena and the boys enjoy the heck out of this financial boost to you household! Congratulations to Andrew too for being there to help you dig it. I love your pictures with the boys revisiting the site. Hope you get that amazing Land Cruiser soon!!!

Congratulations! 🎉🎉🎉 If that'd been me finding that beauty, I would've been swearing my head off! And I have the feeling that Helena thought you and Andrew were playing a prank - at first. (And for the non-Aussies - it's Datsun)! 😁 Congratulations again Luke! 🎉🇭🇲
I was trying to work out if he was screwing with me. I was running through what pyrite looks like and it’s characteristic till I was like OMG that’s not fake! Unfortunately I think a datto might be out of the price range also, might have to stick to something less ‘Aussie’ 😂
Looking nice.. just wondering, why not panning the material brushed off it? Did you check that hole afterwards with the detector.. might be more down there..
So Happy for you Luke, you well deserve finding THE DREAM OF A LIFETIME , good luck in further hunts, love watching your channel and how you present it 👍☮️❤️Well done fella
👍👌👏 Oh WOW, simply fantastic! Congratulations 🎉 Thanks a lot for making explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and especially health to all involved people.
Need to do a water density test to see exactly how much gold is there. First thing you do is dry the specimen completely. Put it in the oven at 180° for a half hour or so. After it's cold of course. Get The weight in grams. Then you'll need to go to a hobby get a beaker that measures milliliters or some type of container that measures milliliters. Then you divide The weight by the amount of water it displaces in milliliters. That will tell you exactly how much gold is there. Without removing all of the excess quartz.. but I'm sure any Goldsmith local to you has the ability to do this.
@@DegenerateY there is zero altering to a water density test. You literally measure water in a container put the specimen in the container measure the water level again, apply mathematically equation, You now know exactly how much gold is in the specimen.
You could clean this up a lot more with muritic (hydrochloric) acid - HCl. Just be sure to handle it safely. It's a real beauty and probabably worth several time its melt value. If you do more cleaning please post update.
Congrats on your find, it's a huge nugget, I have enjoyed the commentary much more than the find of the Gold, if that makes sense to you two? Finding a nugget like this, it's what dreams are made of.

I always wonder how much gold was scraped off that was next to a big nugget. You get fixated on the big piece and leave others in the puddle or wash down the drain in your case. I would want to bring a bucket of dirt home that was next to it. Then look for more when I have nothing to do. It is everybody not just you. Nice Picker.
