Get your license while working, start collecting equipment you might need, and most importantly invest in your education. Learn about roofs and homes etc. and just learn about the industry, how policies are made, the claim process, etc. then get on rosters. Tip2: Pay for education from IA firm or companies like Jeremy’s (not shilling here). I looked into Jeremy’s stuff and I think it’s great but I had already investing time and money elsewhere and it’s worked out for me. These are resume builders. Tip3: be kind to yourself. And this is subjective, but your first year is going to be tough one way or another. The inconsistency is real, and really confusing and frustrating. Claims will constantly get kicked back because you did something wrong. It’s ok, fix it, move on and get paid.
