Thank you Otto for your prompt and gracious reply. I just watched your very informative midi tutorial video and have confidence I can duplicate your settings for the pan, eq, gate and compressor using the top 4 buttons. I think I can program other functions if I can identify the other buttons. I believe I can do that by referencing the behringer mackie/cubase template names. I am excited to dive deeper into this and customize the software to suit my specific needs. Many thanks for your generous spirit sharing your wealth of knowledge on this topic. I'm off to do some programming now following along with your tutorial video. I will comment here later to report my results. Your new friend, Tom
Havent watched the video yet (I need to cos I cant figure out how to use the FX on Mixing station) BUT YOUR LAYOUT ON THE MIXING STATION WEBSITE CHAAAAANGED THE GAME for me with my XR18. If you ever want a mixing desk for dummies series- I would love to do a video with you on how best to use the setup for a 4/5 piece wedding band doing your own setup- I really wanna empower more women to learn how to use their systems and not be scared of tech (including myself)
Another Great learning video. Wondering if you will do one on xtouch and xtouch extender. I don't know if its just me but the audio on these videos seems weak. I have to turn my speakers all the way up and have to listen closely . Thanks for all these videos. I am trying to learn the midi programing in mixing station and your videos helps very much. Maybe you should do a class on programing mixing station, one that you could charge people for to off set your costs of making these video. I am sure many of us would pay for it. Thanks again. Pancho
Thanks to your midi tutorial video, the light finally dawned for me on how to program Mixing Station to customize the BCF2000 to my specifications. Many thanks Otto.
Hello Otto! thank you for the great preset for bcf2000 and mr18, great stuff. I started to figure this out, your videos inspired me. I have a question. Do you know how to program the indicators around the rotating knobs? It would be great if this indicator could flash in send on fader mode or show the bus level. Do you have any ideas on how this can be implemented? Thanks again, best regards, Victor.
Flashing is not possible If the bus-send is assigned to the rotary, it should indicate There is nothing you can change for another behaviour….the indicators just show the value of the assigned action of the rotary
@@ottobaer thank you for answer! Now I try to realise the control of effects on the knobs and faders. Can I text you on the email or somewhere? Another thank you for your great exploration!
@@ВикторДомбровский-е5е i have not done something like this so far…so i can not really help. If it works then it‘s only a question of assigning the right actions…thats the only advice i can give you
Hi Otto, I checked Mixingstation Community for the configuration file for your BCF2000 setup. Can you please share your configuration in the community? Would save me a lot of time.
I shared my settings in the community X32: dev-core.org/mixing-station/community/msSettings/3676 X18: dev-core.org/mixing-station/community/msSettings/3675 But this are quite old settings. i could not check them because i do not longer own an BCF2000
Hey Mr Otto, so curious of the things u could do with the behringer X touch. Would love to see how u wud program the midi. Btw it has this mode on the xtouch that is called Xctl / Mcu , really wonder what this is for
Hy BellySaurus basicly i would do the same with the x-touch, as long as it is usefull. the display would help to make things easier because you don't need to lable so many things recently i replaced my bcf2000 with a qcon pro x. this controller is close to the x-touch, i have implemented following: - Basic mode to control 8 channels with mute, solo and pan plus a fader for the busmaster - EQ-Mode to control 4 EQ-Bands on the selected channel - Gate-Mode to control the gate-parameters on the selected channel - Dynamic mode to control the compressor parameter on the selected channel - GainOnFaders to change the Faders to control the cahnnel gains Additional there are buttons to access - SOF for 10/16 Busses (XR18/M32) - 4/6 Mutegroups (XR18/M32) - 4/8 FX-Slots (XR18/M32) - Scribble strip, scenes, player (only M32), fx rack - layers 1-10 if i have time, i will make a new video MCU and XCtl are diffrent protocols implemented in the x-touch. mcu is pretty common and works with a lot of DAW. mixing station works very well with mcu. xctl is used to control an xr18 by lan/wlan. in my opinion you can control the xr18 but without a display i would miss the visual feedback. xctl is ok for controlling mutes and faders, bot not for more
I havent tried this but I believe since Xctl is for talking to an X32 directly and MCU for mackie control - the dual mode can be used when you want to control an X32 *and* a DAW simultaneously - the SMPTR/BEATS will toggle mode. Note you have to connect ethernet *and* USB for the two modes.
The bcf2000 runs in mcu mode, no need to change anything there. All is done in mixing station. If you have an msz file then load this into mixing station (wheel - folder - plus)
@@ottobaer But will the MSZ file or Mix Station configurations change the BCF button's function? How are you connecting the BCF (to the computer via USB or to the XR mixer via MIDI in and out)?
