Barbless, long distance release is better than squeezing his eyes out trying to keep him in the net Just my $.02
I always prefer to try to net them because it makes it easier for me to wet my hands without dropping my rod. As for the barbless hooks, I've. considered it but that's not for me yet. I think I do a pretty good job getting them off the hook and try to be as gentle as possible.
