Girl, I cook my frozen black eyes in a skillet. I'm so happy to find someone to make soul food. I need a simple recipe for white bread dressing/stuffing. Can you send me one.
That's what's up I never cooked mines in a skillet 😁 I'm going to try next time! Thanks so much for watching! I try to make soul food fast and easy cuz a lot of people think it takes so much when it really don't unless.... you trying to get extra super fancy 😋 For a dressing or stuffing recipe oh snap dressing isn't simple that I know of. it takes a lot I haven't learned how to make that fast and easy yet but here's what I learned from my mom. First you have to make some cornbread but it needs to be self-rising cornbread mix. You'll need 1 egg and milk for the cornbred mix. You'll need buttermade bread, chicken broth, celery, onions, butter, sage, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and one egg. Set your oven for 350 °.. After making the cornbread toast the bread and crumble it up with the cornbread. Then you'll mix the butter, the celery, and the onion with the bread mixture. At the chicken broth to the mixture. Or if you're making a turkey you can use the turkey drippings too. At Sage and salt and pepper and Italian seasoning. The Italian seasoning is optional. Mix all that up and then give it a taste to gauge what you feel you need to add like if you need to add more seasoning. Once you taste it and you like it then you add the egg and you mix the egg into the mixture. Put it in the oven and let it brown! Now the bread and cornbread amounts depend on how much dressing you are making so if you're making a small pan you wouldn't use the whole cornbread or the whole bread loaf LOL but you do want to make sure you even cornbread to bread ratio. As far as your seasonings amounts that depend on how much you're making as well. I'd will start with a teaspoon of each seasoning and go from there once you decide to taste. And with the chicken broth I will start with half a can at first you'd have to build it up cuz again I don't know how much you're making LOL But please make sure you taste before you add that egg 😆 that's a bit much but once you master the recipe it's on and popping🤣😂 I wish I can give you exact teaspoon and tablespoon measurements but it all depends the amount of guests you're serving
@@PoeticDoesIt I actually make a great cornbread dressing. I'm looking for a white bread only recipe. My friend puts oyster in her plain bread and that is a no go for me.
Excellent- I’ve always wanted to know a good recipe for black eyed peas. Not blowing smoke, I really have wanted one!
This is definitely a fast and delicious recipe! With being able to taste and adjust your broth you can't go wrong😁👍 Thanks for watching 💜💜
Reminds me of my lovely grandma. God rest her soul. She made the best BEPs. I'll save this and one day attempt to cook them myself.
Awwww that's what's up ❤️💜Thank you so much for watching!
