    As you listen to this beautiful book, i would have you know who Jesus REALLY is. He is not just a teacher, or a great man. He is the living God who came to earth to save us from our sin. For this he died for you, and rose from the grave, and ascended to the right hand of the Father. I hope that Gibran too had a relationship with Christ, because knowing the truth is not enough. Christ really is the only Way to be with the Father (our Creator) in eternal life. Jesus said "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Me."
    There is nothing greater than this free gift Jesus offers, and you don't have to do anything to earn it, you just have to accept it, believe He is who he says he is--surrender to Him, and turn from your old life to the new person Jesus transforms you into! "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
    God bless you, seeker!
    Love, Joseph

    Did you have a favorite chapter (or three?) Let's talk about them in the comments!
    I don't know if I can pick a favorite, there are so many good chapters.
    I'll mention two here:
    I loved Matthew "The Sermon On the Mount". it was such a beautiful retelling of that famous sermon and perhaps the best known teaching of Christ. Gibran paints new perspective in these Bible stories, it's so cool!
    Maybe my favorite when I was recording this was the final chapter, "A Man From Lebanon". I recorded it in one take, and almost felt like I got into the character of Gibran as he wraps up this epic book and with finality acknowledged the Lord Jesus Christ. It left me speechless.
    "...And though you are the youngest of us all
    You father us all.
    Poet, Singer, Great Heart,
    May our God bless your name,
    And the womb that held you, and the breasts that gave you milk.
    And may God forgive us all."
    - Khalil Gibran

      “Am I not already in your house?”
      Chills. I’ve lived my life immersed in the teachings of Jesus and later, studying all religions and mysticisms like a Jesuit. It has brought me the greatest love and the deepest inward journey.
      “All men love you for themselves, I love you for yourself”
      Hafiz and Rumi and many others have completely influenced and inspired my poetry, lyrics and screenplays. But this work has been a seminal influence on my life and creative works.
      “I alone love the unseen in you.”

    And who says who Jesus REALLY was or is? My whole life I have heard His words twisted by religiosity and a church poisoned by fear, corruption and the lust for political power... just as it is today. Oh Lord, save us from your followers. Myself, I prefer the spirit of Gibran's portrait of Christ's divine humanity inviting us to join Him as fellow sons and daughters of God.

    • @JosephAlanMeador
      @JosephAlanMeador  Місяць тому

      I trust who He says He is! Not who others twist Him into being for their own power or convenience. Even Gibran’s writing here, while beautiful, should not be as a substitute for the Jesus of the Bible. But I do hope this audiobook points others to the scriptures, and to wanting to get to know Jesus in personal relationship. I know this, that we are not children of God until we have surrendered to the Way, the Truth, and the Life; Jesus Christ. As He said “No one comes to the Father but by me”. So we have the right to be His fellows, and heirs of God, because of Him, not because of ourselves. Another more helpful exclamation could be “Oh Lord, save me from myself!”
      Much love to you, and thank you for the comment 💛

    People should know that Gibran is not a shining example of a man of the spirit. He lived a worldly life in total contradiction to his preachings. Time has come tell the truth. Check for yourself good people of the world . Remember, no god or king can save you from want or anything else, you've got to save yourself. People who follow this bloke are in a faith like trance and have stopped thinking for themself. Turn to yourself and follow your instincts and inner voice. Bon voyage ! G'day from Australia 🇦🇺.

      Thanks for the comment! This is a great point; none of us is a shining example of perfection, and that certainly includes Khalil Gibran. We should not elevate a human and make them an idol, including OURSELVES! For ALL have fallen short of the glory of God. But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. There is one in whom we can trust, forever. Jesus Christ alone lived a perfect live, and he was fully man and fully God. He came here for you, and for me, and even for Khalil. Oh, I did! For 15 years I searched. The last five I fervently sought the Spirit, and had little breakthroughs of my “own”. But it wasn’t until I surrendered to Christ that my shackles were removed. Not until I surrendered the lie that I could do it in my own; when I let God work in me, then did I find myself. It it excellent that you are seeking the Spirit and the truth. Follow the evidence wherever it leads you. You have nothing to lose but your chains!

    Thank you for the response. Know that I love the Christ with all my heart and soul, as I do the Father and His Spirit. It's the perverse influence man has had on His truth and His church that has brought such cruelty and evil in His name. And today, the same cruelty and evil raises its ugly head again in Christian Nationalism. And today His prophecy of false prophets and Christian's being seduced by evil is playing out before our eyes.
    You seem pretty convicted about the exclusivity of Christian dogma. How many more must be persecuted by His followers? Maybe you're right. But Maybe He loves us all and seeks us to seek the Father in all ways, not to limit our access to Him, especially by dogmatic propaganda.

    • @JosephAlanMeador
      @JosephAlanMeador  Місяць тому

      Thanks for this follow-up, Jim. I appreciate where you’re coming from, brother! I have a family member of both “sides” of the current political divide. The main issue for both of them, in my view, is that they are caught up in the fight of it, rather than seeking understanding or peace between their differences. One is hard right “Christian Conservative”, and the other is far Left “Anti-Christian Socialist”. I’m not in-between per say, I just do my best to choose based on what Christ instructed us to do, and I know there is no true “neutral” position.
      Yes, I am convicted in Christ, and His exclusivity. It’s the most offensive part about Him when witnessing, that the Way is in fact exclusive. I do think all “paths” will lead to God, in that one day we will all stand in His presence and be judged. If I stood on my own goodness I would have be cast out from His presence, since a holy God deserves perfection, and only Christ was perfect. Only He could pay for the sins of the world. On that day only those who have new life in Christ, and Him as savior, will be written in the book of life. To sacrifice this conviction would defeat everything about the gospel. I choose to believe because it’s actually true; and he changed my life when I surrendered to Jesus in February of 2023. As I’m
      Sure you know, it’s not easy, but He has given me fruit such as peace, joy, and freedom from suicidality/addiction.
      For me, our biggest danger in the USA is not religious nationalism, but a deletion of morality and relationship to God, which would be replaced with making “little Gods” of ourselves, i.e. secular humanism. To see the fruit of that type of thinking we can look to failed Godless systems like the Communist regime in what was the U.S.S.R. Or current issues like the murder and abuse of children, and the attempt to strip Christ from our culture as a whole and replace it with aforementioned humanism. It offers what it can’t deliver; Life and Truth.
      This is good discussion, I’m open to continuing if you like. Thanks again!

    Matthew 15:24 quotes Jesus as saying that he was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Yes or no questions for those pretending that true Christianity exists today. Did he tell the truth or not? Is your book telling the truth when it says that sin was the trespass of the law,a law we were never under? Is your book telling the truth when it says that Jesus came to save those under the law from the curse of the law,a law we were never under? Is your book correct when it says Jesus came to put sin away and that all of that stuff was nailed to the cross? Is your book correct when it says that the Vail of the temple was torn into symbolizing that the curse was lifted and fellowship with God restored because of what Jesus did on the cross? Is your book telling the truth when it says that when Jesus work was done on earth ,he returned to heaven,delivered the kingdom back to God once held by Satan because of the sin that Jesus just put away,ended? Is your book correct in saying that when Jesus returned to heaven after his work that he submitted to God,actually bowed down and turned all power and authority back to God that God had turned over to him to do his work? Is it true that your book says that God is All and in All now and that He alone reigns now ? All and in All. Only he is to be worshipped. You are after 2000 years still pretending that you need forgiven from sin that was the trespass of the law,a law you were never under. You pretend because you see the word sin in your book that it was to be forever and that it was to you,when Jesus told you that he only came to Israel because they were the only ones under the law,to be able to trespass the law that was a curse unto death and they needed forgiven their trespasses so the curse could be lifted. Whether you like it or not God is All and in All Now. We know the difference between good and evil because He is all and in all. ALL. Sin was the trespass of old covenant law,and your book makes that as plain as day. Not to you. Evil however was and is of the heart,and even though your book tells you that the heart is what God judges ,you have no part of it but actually want to be under sin and law,a law you were never under and just beg to live under a curse. God! He alone is to be worshipped. God! Jeremiah 31:31 even tells you that all that sin stuff,all the curse stuff and even the new covenant has nothing to do with you. Then why do you insist that God is wrong and you are correct at the peril of never knowing God in the way that He says? He alone shows people whether they are His or not. He is all and in All. All that stuff you continue to pretend that you are supposed to trust Jesus for,forgiveness of evil ,which is of the heart, convicting your God given God conscience that you are His belongs to He and He alone. He is All and in All and has no part of your silly religious tradition and 44000 denominations across the globe ,yet none agreeing on anything. He is God and will be with us or without us. HE IS ALL AND IN ALL.

    • @JosephAlanMeador
      @JosephAlanMeador  2 місяці тому

      Hey @gwayne11000, thanks for the comment. I am curious, what belief system or perspective are you coming from? Yes, I do believe God wrote His law on our hearts, as you said we understand good from evil innately. Those many "Christian" denominations you mention (hopefully) agree on this. Jesus IS God. God is tri-une, a single Creator with three distinct persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And only by believing in/putting your full trust in Christ you have access to personal relationship with God. There's a lot to unpack from your comment, but I would like to add this concerning the law and who it applies to. Jesus also said "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.…" Matthew 5:17-18. The apostle Paul also speaks about this "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, then to the Greek. For the gospel reveals the righteousness of God that comes by faith from start to finish,d just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith." Romans 1:16-17. Thanks again for the comment, and please know that Jesus Christ is very much real, and He is here for you in an instant! If you ever find yourself in an absolutely impossible or seemingly hopeless situation, you can call on Him! And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. God bless you
