Please make this clip again for south east asia also about handsome young and beautiful stars in south east asia please.
honestly i hope they don't get any hate, as a chinese person, i get mistaken for korean all the time by chinese people, and i myself have trouble differentiating chinese from korean. I think japanese people have a more distinct look from the other two nationalities
Generally I can distinguish but genetics are mysterious lol
Yes lol I can generally tell japanese apart
Japanese people tend to have bigger eyes and a different makeup and style 😂
@@skypink4404 yeah!
@@skypink4404 Not the ones I’ve seen. The Japanese royal bloodline has Korean blood, proven by genetic tests.
You should make an episode with other nationalities as well. So that they know it's not just Japanese,Korean and Chinese that's hard to tell a difference if you're not aware of it 😂 this is fun.
Indonesian, Malaysian, Singaporean, Filipino, Thailand
@@ikkojustianfajarrisetyo2864 Thailand. But there’s no idols or actresses from these other countries , like famous ones
There are a lot of South East Asia Celebrities that is well known in the world actually, and besides, the point of this video is to try differentiate asian from one another. And the countries that I suggested have almost similar traits, if you're not familiar with them, you'll have a hard time differentiating them. And I want to see them trying this as a challenge 😂 if your concern is about the celebrities, don't you worry, SEA has a ton of renown celebrities in the world, you just don't know them yet 😁
@@Uchiha.Itachii Well there's Lisa, Bambam, Nichkhun just to name a few
This is same even for western countries... Cannot tell apart if someone is German, french, Netherlands or Poland until tell speak their language, same goes for people of African countries, unless they have a typical look of that nationality and aren't wearing cultural fashion it's hard to tell
Sana, Yuqi, T.O.P, Chaewon I'm a kpop fan so I knew them instantly, Chaewon especially because I was a Wiz*One. For Ken Watanabe he didn't look groomed enough to be Korea and I remember a tiktok that talked about how in china the beauty standard for men is to be clean shaved. I also remember seeing lots of Japanese actors with beards. For the Japanese girls, they wear really natural make up styles and the Chinese have a sharp intense sort of look. I got almost everything right except 2 where I second-guessed myself but I was right the first time.
Same, their overall style and aura sets all three nationalities apart, it gets easier to tell them apart if you just pay attention to the minor details like hair, makeup and facial structures.
Ik Sana Yuqi and top I am a wiz one but a new one so idk about chaewon
@@ieatdogss 😭😭😭😭😭 but at least she’ll redebut tomorrow
@@SweetforS Is le sserafim debuting today? I remember watching their trailer day before yesterday.
Wiz*one here tooooooo❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭😭
Eyes, nose and facial structure tell you a lot about differing nationalities. I have become fascinated with the East Asian culture (K-pop, cdrama and kdrama, Japanese and Chinese idols). I was able to distinguish all but one. This was an interesting exercise for the participants and watching them come up with their reasoning was hilarious.
Sameee, was it Ken Watanabe? I tought he was chinese 💀
Yeah and the makeup & hairstyle (for men) too. The chinese seem to like having really dark and strong eyebrows, whereas the koreans like it more natural.
@@camilogael483 So, Ken Watanabe is one of the most famous actors in Japan, he participated of huge movies as Memories Of a Gueisha, Letters From Iwo Jima, Inception, Batman Begins, The Last Samurai, Transformers and others. He's not known by young people, because he have 62 years old. Being half japanese, I always loved his work and I'm very proud of a japanese actor doing so many big movies in Hollywood
As many KDramas as I watch, and Chinese dramas, ya think I would know! I only got 1 right! Lol
lol
which one did you get right
I got it all right but i hesitated a bit at some and my mind is having a vote either one of the two 😂 (I think being Asian helped me pick lol and knowledge)
🇰🇷 kpop Kdama kfood
I only got all the k pop idols right because I don't really watch drama or movies😅
It's really difficult to differentiate between Japanese and Korean imo. Especially when many of them have the "idol look", which makes them look less distinct.
Chinese were pretty easy. Face structure is quite different imo. But maybe I am just assuming (as a non-asian person)
How are their face structures different? Like at 6:47 how is his face structure different?
@@ohmygodlawl That was actually the easiest for me. His face looks the most different (especially his nose), that's why I assumed he was Chinese. China has so many people from a wide variety of different places that I will always assume a wide range of features. Japanese and Korean look a little more homogenous to me.
But to be clear, I can't differentiate them easily at all. And many of my Asian friends can't either. Which makes sense, because I couldn't differentiate a German from an American or Serbian.
@@X5J2UY I see, I honestly can’t tell maybe I’m not just as observant..
@@ohmygodlawl I was like he looks like Luhan and z.Tao combined so it’s obviously very easy peasy.
As an asian I can tell you there is a GIGANTIC difference between Japanese and Koreans
As an asian this was easy-peasy I got them all right even though I only recognized one celebrity!
As the spokesperson of the Asian community, you get to keep your Asian card lol jk
therie is asian interview they said if all has one drees and hair stylle noone can tell
@@nicolbolas8758 No I would still be able to tell I'm fairly sure. Each country has some distinct features. I'm especially good at telling East Asian countries apartm
I recognized Linyi as soon as his picture popped out, I watch Chinese television series almost everyday so I’m pretty familiar with Chinese actors and actresses
I got so many wrong & I’m Asian!😂😂
I only knew T.O.P & Ken Watanabe, so I got
those right!
Well I can tell them apart by their names but not by their faces. But one important factors that differentiates them is their clothing sense and style. Koreans are very fashion people and have a great clothing sense compared to other two. If we don't talk about celebrities then we can recognise average Korean by their clothing sense compared to others.
i think japan also has some of the best fashion, the difference is that in korea everyone wears basically the same three styles so it's very easy to recognize, but in japan there's more variety and feels a little more original (no offense)
Great sense of fashion? They literally follow western trends and buy from western brands
You find them more fashionable for a reason
@@skypink4404 that doesn't change the fact that they have great fashion sense... seems like someone's jealous here lmao🤣
@@skypink4404 while I agree that they are influenced by western trends (like everywhere else in the world tbh), I think the way they mix and layer is quite different from western fashion. There's a reason why the phrase "fresh off the boat" exists judging from their appearance.
If you look at how americans/westerners dress and how koreans dress side by side, there's a difference. A 'great sense of fashion' is objective I guess, so I can't really say much about your opinion on that
China has the best fashion by far and they're the only ones with bold, grand choices that only certain people can pull off.
eZ got all, especially when you know the most of them ^^
I don’t know him but Lin Yi’s left picture screamed Chinese actor too me. Everything from the hair, the angle, even the desaturation. I’m getting good at noticing these things haha

Korea, Japan and China have some differences in makeup, styling and lighting which help me differentiate. As a Chinese heritage person, I can't really define exactly how I tell irl via facial features, its just some combinations of features that make me think "Oh this person is probably __."
Koreans prefer whiter lighting and paler skin makeup. Also if the lip colour is vibrant and cute, I would think Korean (could be japanese also bc some subcultures like those colours). Monolids are quite common for koreans so that's a hint as well.
The makeup for Koreans also tends to be more peachy coral (I'm generalizing a lot but it's like the go to palette for actresses). Korean hair has wispy (curtain) bangs, also if they're an idol, they might have very light hair colours. They really like to highight the aegyosal which is the eyebags. They don't really contour unless its for a more masculine look so if the nose bridge is lower/flatter and very straight with the nose tip being not large, I think korean. The eye makeup focuses on making eyes large so the common look does not have heavy lashes or fox eye. If the man has a more masculine look, his hair is swept/greased back but there's still a part, I forgot what this hairstyle is called (the 3 quarters look??)
Japanese have a bit of a more natural look, having chocolate brown hair and a nice caramel tan makes me think Japan.
Side swoop was popular in japan, idk about now, but 5:24, she has a side swoop in the first photo and her hair is messy natural brown waves. Also the makeup was a bit more muted mauve/rose (generalizing a lot). Also japanese people really liked the look of crooked teeth (idk about now) so if the teeth aren't straight, that might be a hint as I think a lot of celebs in china get teeth straightened.
If the nose is wide and flat like a button nose, I think Chinese. Chinese people can have monolids or double eyelids. The swept middle part and bangs with a bit of undercut in black for men in china is a popular celeb hairstyle. Also I notice that they like drawing evenly thick, sharp tailed brows for men in China. They use contour to make the face look sharper. Makeup can focus on larger eyes, angular eyes or both. Men may have more darker brown eyebags. The ears also might stick out more (bc Chinese people might have larger ears or they appear larger bc of the hairstyle). Also in some photo lighting, the skin looks more golden yellow.
Side swooped bangs aren't that popular in Japan at the moment, Korean makeup and hair is trending here rn so it might be pretty hard to tell Japanese and Korean celebrities apart. But for female celebrities I think Japanese celebrities tend to look cute and Korean celebrities beautiful.
Nope, Chinese people can also have the tallest noses out of them - with really prominent nose bridges and even dorsal bumps, especially those from the northwest. There is really no singular Chinese look.
Whether other people agree to this or not, I think that was such a cute and neat way to organise that hehe I kinda agree to this
Chinese have the tallest noses, everything you said was wrong lol.
You sure you're Chinese? 😁
I did bit expect Chaewon to be here I WAS LITERALLY SCREAMING😂
Chinese male idols/actors (who promote in China) have a really strong brow game that's how I usually differentiate them
I think for Westerners it would be hard for them to tell Asians apart especially if they don't watch Kpop or Anime but i can tell the difference even before watching Kpop (I'm Asian)
Ummm what does anime have anything to do with being able to tell HUMAN Asians apart?
anime what
@@cheeseoh Sorry i didn't mean to add Anime 🤣 i mean watching Japanese movies and Jpop 😂
I’m a kpop fan and I couldn’t tell
@@Luvkookiiee Are you Asian?
I just realized that my years of kpop helped me with something, I only missed one, and the rest I literally got them all right.
As an Overseas Chinese , l only got 1 correct - That's Lin Yi , The Chinese actor
Actually ; majority people from Thailand 🇹🇭 also look similar with Chinese/Korean because even though they have Thai Nationality but their Ancestries are practically from China
the way you could do a whole video with just the NCT members because they have so many foreign members (more than half of 23!)😂 maybe do one on guessing NCT’s nationalities?
TOP is a member of the kpop group, Big Bang.
satomi ishihara! i love her! she`s my favorite
The only thing is if you only choose Kpop idols they all are trying to fit the Kpop beauty standard so they may have been pick or changed to fit that. It’s hard to tell. Compared if you picked celebrities from each country you could probably tell
Maybe the point was to confuse the contestants on purpose
@@RiceSquad hmmm good point 😂
This is BS as an Asian in Asia (who isn't from the fancy Northeast) it was mad difficult to tell most apart as the idol types were probably chosen or groomed to have regional appeal.
There were few to 0 clear ethnic markers.
Maybe..just maybe there aren’t many ethnic markers between the 3 East Asian countries to begin with
@@ohmygodlawl I feel like it's enough to tell them apart most of the time though (especially if it includes makeup and style)
As someone from Korea, I can assure u it’s not BS and is actually easy to tell who is who by race.
Imagine me that’s not from Southeast Asia saying all Southeast Asians look the same lmao
except for ken watanabe, mr. bacera deliberately chose asians with somewhat ambiguous features that makes it hard to tell them apart or confusing at least to those who think they know the person belongs to a kpop group but are actually foreigners.
@@SKoreanKimchi i agree. i didn't know who chaewon is but i figured she has the typical korean beauty that i'm accustomed to seeing (like if yeojin and haseul had a baby) and i voted as such.
Kim Chaewon is really pretty. ❤️

The best way of how to tell them apart is multiple exposure to not just faces but also make-up, hairstyles, outfit, sketal structure, emotional expression, skin care. I got 9 correct answers.

I got the Lin Yi one right cause he had the larger nose, thin face, and that haircut that they give chinese CEOs in dramas lol

I'm Asian Dutch and to my surprise, my DNA results show that I have traces of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Philippines, Vietnamese, and Indonesian heritage.
Korean: Square Face,Very Smoll Eyes,Light Skin.
Chinese: Roud Face,Medium Eyes,Thy r have light and Brown Sometime chinese people Look Like Southeast Asian People.
Japanese: Oval Face,Big Eyes (For East Asian),Light Skin.
Actually, China has two cardinal directions which South and North by mean you said “sometimes Chinese looks like Southeast Asia” could probably from the Southern, if you see some Chinese has the Korean looks, that is from the North.
@@livliv2384
northern chinese don't look like korean, they have different face feature, korean have stronger cheekbone, and tend to have monolid, they have different vibe, northern chinese look more bold, korean look more gentle. Even northest, northwest, shandong people looks different, but more subtle. The chinese looks like SEA are minority ethnicity group, there exist thai people in China, southern Chinese have bigger eyes, wider face, larger nose than northern chinese, they look more sweet and easygoing.

Even when I barely knew the groups they belong in, I just new “he gives off Bigbang vibes” or “she looks like she’s from Iz*one” and I was right!🤣
Honestly the most distinguishable things between these groups is usually the clothes, makeup, and hair trends- so giving them kpop idols of several ethnicites makes it so much harder 😭
well even asians find it difficult to differentiate b/w chinese korean n japenese at timess
I often go to China and Korea for work, and the Chinese people are short. Koreans are about 5cm taller than Chinese people. Koreans are also thicker. Why? I don't understand why there is such a difference in physique between China and Korea even though they are both in Asia. Chinese high school students are about the build of Korean middle school students. Koreans are tall and muscular, while Chinese people are short and slender. I was surprised at the huge difference in physique when I first visited both countries.
I'm European and I was able to guess all of them correctly (except one, I think). I only follow some kpop artists but this wasn't so difficult for me. I've worked with many Japanese and Chinese people, so I think that also helped me a lot.
Wow really? I'm korean and I can never tell them apart😅
Some Japanese have jomon DNA so that makes them look Eurasian. Typical yayoi Japanese looks just like Chinese and Korean.

Asian as in the whole continent. Not just eastern asian. West asia is a lil' harder to guess tho.
@FIGHFANNERD 9 Jomon
Its the makeup and the style for me.
Korean style is more of a clean, fresh look while Japanese style seem to be aiming towards a young, cutesy, vibrant look. But the most noticeable one is the Chinese style. They tend to go for a mature look over a fresh and clean look.
I knew who all of them were so i got all correct, this is the effect of watching, k,c,j dramas 24/7
Good job
1:05 Not just if she is Korean, Japanese or Chinese, I even guessed her right..! Sana...
I just watch this because of TOP
I think because of the Korean makeup and fashion style, Japanese and Chinese Kpop idols look like Korean.
the easiest way to tell them apart is by style, there is a clear difference in hair, makeup and clothing between the countries, especially between japan and the other two
I’m 97% Chinese and 3% Korean according to my DNA test, but I still got 2 wrong. I got all Chinese right despite the fact I only knew Yuqi. The last girl just debuted with Sakura in a new kpop gg and I thought that was Sakura lol… I didnt know much about Iz*one, so I let my immature kpop knowledge cloud my judgement lol
You should do one with kpop groups, that has a foreign members and have them guess , how many members in each kpop group is not Korean.
Pretty sure I got them all right cuz I am Asian not b-sian
😂
I knew most of these people so I got most of them correct. For me to tell apart Korean, Japanese and Chinese people I look at their face and if I can't tell then I look at their hairstyle and clothing. But then again I am Asian and have seen and been around all types of Asians in my life so I might have an advantage.
I can always tell the Chinese apart. Maybe because I'm Chinese lol
I got most of them right, but I watch a lot of Asian shows/MVS/movies etc so yeah 🤷🏾♀️ even Asian people have a hard time telling them apart so don’t feel bad 👍🏾
I got em all right even the ppl I didn’t know I can just tell Chinese ppl by face structure they have unique ones and compared to Japan and Korea the ppl have bold faces, the Koreans I can just automatically tell by eyes and Japanese ppl by clothes and how the pictures looked but if I didn’t know sana I would have guessed Chinese
I was sooo confident the first girl was Korean or Chinese so.... yea lmao I'm not gonna do well
As an Asian myself I can distinguish every type of asian people and no I'm not kidding...
I would’ve been disappointed in myself if I got Sana wrong

Well to be fair, I can't differentiate Americans, Australian, New Zealand and British people either
Same here
Im Japanese, but failed to guess their nationalities, excluding Japanese famous actors...
I could tell Sana, Yuqi,Hana, and Chaewon immediately
One time when I was in Vietnam me and my stepdad played this game where we had to guess the nationality of people on the street. Since that time I always guess it right and I also watch a lot of content of asian people from different countries. I guessed them all right
Bet you did 😂
All correct ^^ I wasn't confident on all of them because some I could see that they live in Korea from hair and makeup trends and clothing but looking at their faces I went with my intuition and it worked out. ^^

As a Japanese person, I’ve been mistaken as Chinese, Korean, Thai, and Filipino. lol
She’s Korean 7:37 because she in a K-pop girl group called Le sserfim her name is Chaewon
It doesn't really mean much to distinguish between Chinese and other east Asians.
In fact, China has all the faces of the Orient.
As a kpop fan, I'm proud to say i got em all kpop idols
Just them and a few celebrities though 😭
Got it all of them right. Even though I don't know half of them. I just look at their hairstyle, fashion and makeup.. And .. I just watched too much K, J, and C dramas. Too much Kpop too.... From Southeast Asia by the way ...
It's easier to tell who is Japanese I guess by their eyes. They have more rounded eyes between Chinese and Koreans. But still, it's not 100% right all the time. Lol
In general, East Asians don't have big eyes.
Made 3 mistakes eventhough I'm Asian myself😭 but as South East Asian, I also can't tell Filipina Thai and Indonesian apart though
Even many Southern Chinese and some Japanese get mistaken for Southeast Asians. Take a Japanese actor named Gordon Maeda for example, if u look at him, u would probably think he's Thai or something.
With plastic surgery being normalized everywhere across the globe and especially in Asia, all of this is tough to tell
Just because plastic surgery is common doesn't mean everyone gets its done so stop with that bullshit
I see Sana at the thumbnail, I click.
All
Wow!!! I am really surprised at myself. I got everyone’s nationality right. I think it helped that I knew some of these celebrities, but I think I could just guess them correctly due to their unique features. The only one I was divided was the last one, but I guessed Korean due to the distinct eye area. 🥰
I feel like Face features give away where they are from like Sana looks Japanese but when the other Japanese woman came up I wouldn't ever thought Japanese her features are not like how u see most Japanese women, where Sana is alot like it, she looks more Korean or Chinese mixed to me
Most Japanese idols in Kpop have strong Japanese features but the second woman didn't which makes it harder to figure out for me

There's actually difference in Korean, Chinese and Japanese face. If you're not that used to their faces you will probably mistaken a korean as chinese. Or japanese as korean or chinese as japanese.
BS...even Asian cant tell a difference between Chinese, Japanese and Korean.....FYI, Asia is not just 3 countries ya know

This is same even for western countries... Cannot tell apart if someone is German, french, Netherlands or Poland until tell speak their language, same goes for people of African countries, unless they have a typical look and cultural fashion it's hard to tell
So those who believe in stereotype all Asians look same it's not just Asians who look similar. Because Asians aren't just in east Asia. A Afghani man looks nothing like a Chinese man, a Japanese doesn't look anything like a srilankan ..
Honestly, I'm asian and most of these idols look the same, cause these countries have almost the same beauty standarts, but if you look at average day to day people, they do look different.
