My hubby is the Ramen guy... He says "it's calories" we add stuff to it when we eat it together but if it is just him making it to get something in before bed/work he just cooks an egg or 2 and that goes on top of the ramen and he is happy for a while until a meal. My hubby eats like a teen (all the time hunger)
Take a loaf of bread and make the whole thing as french toast. Let it cool completely in the fridge then place back in the bag your bread came in and freeze it. You can then pull it out as wanted and microwave or toast it. Works amazing and tastes great.
You're such a down to earth mom. The fact that you show healthy food but also show that hey, sometimes Ramen is just fine helps a lot of moms not feel like failures, which is so awesome. :) I think too many moms have this expectation of everything being 100% healthy or they're bad moms to everyone.
Asian family here: fry and egg (set on top after noodles are done) and toss a handful of frozen veggies (peas etc) or stir in a kid sized hand full of water cress to beef up your ramen! You can put a few frozen shrimp or some shredded chicken (from freezer stash). You can really add anything (chives etc). Ramen CAN be healthier!
Yes! We have ramen pretty often, but add vegetables and sometimes chicken or shrimp to make it into a healthier meal. We also use our own chicken broth instead of the flavor packet it comes with. A bit less quick and easy, but a good compromise between health and convenience.
I love how practical your shopping is. I hate all those videos were it’s like “we will eat a cucumber and ranch for dinner” uh no. I’m hungry fool. I’m going to search your channel for the salsa and other recipes. I hope you posted those too!
Some of these comments are so catty. She can use plastic baggies if she wants. I'm all for being environmentally friendly but a lot of these people take it to far. Also this IS fairly healthy. It's all about balance. A little Ramen aint gonna kill you. Also cost-wise if you ignore brands you can get this much food for inexpensive prices, not to mention that it will indeed provide her family with more than enough. I come from a very poor family of 8 and this would've lasted us at least 2 weeks maybe even 4 weeks. So all of you who are judging her or saying she's wrong please get off your high horses. People have agency and she deserves respect for being so open with us not criticism.
I can't believe the pathetic and critical comments! It's crazy how mean people are, especially since they aren't putting themselves out there! I love her prep and organization! 😊
If I were her, I would not care what people thought about me using plastic. She is not holding a gun to anyone’s head and saying “use plastic or I will shoot”, so it is not anyone’s business.
Aside from the fact that this is for two whole weeks for a family of seven, a splurge meal and such would have the same amount of sodium in it. In one container there's probably only enough for each person to have two packs. And it's her FIRST time buying it. Even just buying it for the noodles is worth it. Boil it with some bone broth and add an egg and veggies and you've got a meal. Plus, there's so many ways to make this "healthy". My family buys knock off wheat and whole wheat bread. The only thing I can't apply is her veggies because we eat ALOT of vegetables. But they have FIVE kids. With that amount of children you are thinking about how to give them the nutrition they need and you kind of put yourself on the back burner. As she has said, she's going to try being healthier with her choices too. It's like everyone looked at the haul and didn't look at her description
For the applesauce, I bought little cup size Tupperware and buy the regular size applesauce jars. Then put the applesauce in the Tupperware. That way you're still saving money
Kids suck. Seriously. When my daughter was younger I wasted more money on lost Tupperware and silverware than I care to admit. It would have been cheaper to buy disposable spoons and pre portioned applesauce in disposable cups. lol
Plus......time is money. Sometimes it is well worth spending a bit extra for convenience because my time could be better spent on things that make a bigger impact for my family.
That is a good idea for people who do not depend on the longer shelf life of individually packaged products. After too many opened jars of apple sauce growing mold, I began purchasing it in the packages with individual servings. I have saved money by buying it this way. If I used a lot of apple sauce I would try your method!
Melissa Lee im all for being eco friendly, but it’s very hard to do that on a budget. I would love to buy from whole foods every time, but i would need to sh*t out money to do that. Not everybody can afford to buy eco friendly products even if they want to.
@@melissalee2166 Unless you plan on feeding every single family then you have no place to tell anyone where they shop is disgusting. There is absolutely nothing wrong with groceries from Walmart. You're literally just paying two or three times the cost to shop at whole foods. The difference is it just has an organic label slapped on it & it's upcharged. Organic food has no health benefits and is actually far worse for the environment. Studies have shown organic foods contain MORE pesticides than regular foods because organic pesticides aren't as effective. It's not dIsGuStInG to shop at Walmart. Not everyone is able to pay hundreds of dollars in groceries so again I will reiterate, unless you're paying everyone's grocery bill it really isn't your place to judge. Go shop at Whole Foods if that's your thing, but A) not everyone has one in their city and B) not everyone has the funds or even wants to so don't condemn someone for just trying to feed their family.
I bet she wouldn’t mind if you wanted to pay for her groceries for her family! To have it not disgusting. People who judge are...well .....................................👆🏻
Actually the Wal-Mart where I shop has a small section of gluten free organic products like matcha powder nutritional yeast coconut or almond flour ect. You can also get chickpea pasta and fruits and vegetables. It's alot cheaper and it's just a difference of the store. Wal-Mart really stepped it up you should check it out. Honestly just because you buy it at whole foods doesn't mean it's healthier. Please check labels and ingredients so you know what your really feeding your family.
This is how I freeze corn and it turns out perfect! I get a bunch of corn- clean them all up, wash them and then wrap them up tightly in heavy duty foil and put in freezer. When I ready to eat them I pull them out of freezer, keep it wrapped and then throw them in the oven and roast them for 20 plus minutes and they come out perfect! Roasted corn is one of my faves 😀 the moisture from being frozen gives them just enough moisture to make perfectly roasted corn!!
I'm a big fan of salad in a jar, but I now buy medium size plastic bowls with lids and do the same thing. I dropped a mason jar getting out of the car one day. I never knew there could be that many pieces of glass. I would hate for that to happen at school or anywhere my mom might step on glass with her walker. I put dressing, then good stuff, then lettuce. So easy and tasty and fairly cheap. I usually do mandarin oranges, chicken, dried cranberries and unsalted sunflower seeds.
Did you know "dried" cranberries are actually just the cranberry husks after the juice has been extracted. That's right, they take OUT the nutritional juice then partially re-hydrate them with sugar water. Yes, there's some fiber in the cranberry husk but if you're thinking it's all the nutrition of the fresh fruit, you've been duped.
Always enjoy your videos. As for the corn. If you have an Instant pot or an electric pressure cooker, please give cooking your corn in that a try. It is the best way we have found to cook corn on the cob. 5 minutes on the veggie setting and the corn is perfect. We have two electric PCs. One 10 quart and one six quart. We use them for everything from big batch soups and stews to cooking corn, veggies, rice and even hard boiled eggs in a flash! Thanks for sharing some amazing information.
Noreen's Kitchen I have an instant pot 8 quart. My problem with it is it takes FOREVER to get to pressure. So when it comes to sides, such as corn, I find it frustrating waiting on the pot to do its thing. It may only take 5 minutes for the corn to be done, but it takes 20 minutes for it to get to pressure.
Yes, that is the nature of a pressure cooker. I think a lot of people may not realize this. I am always very clear when doing pressure cooker tutorials about the time it takes for the vessel to come up to pressure and also down from pressure if doing a natural release. The good news is that veggies and rice are a quick release. I think it is all about knowing your appliance and knowing how to do time management when cooking. This is a big one with a lot of people. Knowing what will take the longest, in this case taking an extra 20 minutes for the vessel to come to pressure is still less time than it will take the corn to cook if you boil the water. It still takes 20 minutes for a big pot of water to boil and then an additional 20 to 30 minutes for corn to cook depending on how much you are cooking. Additionally, if you have filled your PC it will take less time to come to pressure because it will have less air to force out before pressurizing. So those things are all going to have to be taken into consideration. You can cook lot of corn one time then cool and freeze and reheat quickly later if that is what you are going for. But again, knowing your appliance is key. Every PC is a little different, but I could not live without them.
I have an 8QT as well and it has never taken 20 mins to build pressure. 10 max. I love mine for corn on the cob....and really love it for broccoli and for cabbage. I rarely make main dishes in it. It is used almost exclusively for veggies these days.
every brand is different and will require different amounts of time to come to pressure depending on how full or empty the vessel may be. I use mine for all sorts of things. Hard boiled eggs, corn on the cobb, soups, stews, lasagna, and more.
Would you be able to do a meal prep video and list for the 2 weeks that you bought these groceries for? I only have a family of 4 and spend over 200 every two weeks and would love some ideas to cut down our grocery budget!
Janel Uhlich don't be too impressed by her $200 of groceries for a family of 7 for 2 weeks. Did you notice the ONLY meat/protein she bought was lunch meat ham and eggs? There is NO way that amount of food would feed her family for even 1 week.
That is a lot of food for $200 especially all the veggies! I try my best to coupon and preplan my grocery trips to ensure I am getting the best deals:)
This is the most realistic "celebrity" grocery-shopping video I've ever seen. Thanks for showing off your Great Value canned goods and the discounted bread, it gets very tiresome seeing "I only paid $4.99 for this loaf of organic whole-wheat non-GMO brand-name bread!" when I'm trying to figure out how we can stretch $50 of grocery money over the next week... xD
I just found your channel this week but this is crazy! When you mentioned your "Grandma's Famous Banana Bread" I clicked on the link and then had to open my cupboard to see if it is the same go-to recipe I have taped to the inside door. IT IS!!! I had tried so. many. banana bread recipes over the years, not satisfied with any of them, really. I must have found this one on Pinterest two years ago now and after making it the first time, I made it FOUR more times within the next two weeks! Like, I went to the grocery store and bought up some clearances overripe bananas just because I needed more of that bread NOW. I have never used a different recipe since and never will. I refer people to it all the time and tell them I am convinced this one is foolproof (it really is!) solely because it uses baking soda AND baking powder. I don't know why that makes a difference - makes it lighter and rises better, it seems - but that's the ticket! In fact, I now add baking powder to every other quick bread I make - blueberry muffins, pumpkin bread, etc. I wish I could take a pic of my cupboard door to show you I am not kidding about it being taped there! We moved last year and it came with us and I taped it right up in our new cupboards! lol The only changes I make is that I add salt (I use unsalted butter for baking), I reduce the sugar (3/4 cup less), and grate in fresh nutmeg, because fresh nutmeg is my favorite spice and adds significantly to this bread's amazingness. So fun to actually connect with the origin of this recipe!
Jesus Christ people are judgmental. Your food prep is healthier and cheaper than cruising through the drive through. Yes, that is a lot of extra plastic and tin foil, but reusable options are more expensive and often are not as efficient at allowing for freezer space and preventing freezer burn. You didn’t advertise this as being eco-friendly. Nor did you advertise it as being vegan, organic or gluten free. If other people want to eat that way, fantastic for them! Unlike vaccinating your children, the diet of other people’s children will have zero effect on yours. Good job with two weeks of full meal prep on less than $200. There is no doubt that you or your family will go hungry or skimp on what you like to stretch the dollar. Good job!
TheShoeboxHero I also feel like with kids, some extra carbs would do them better, like they need more brain power for school and are always running around. She might reuse some of the freezer and snack bags, you can reuse them a few times depending on what's in them!
"Hey at least it's not McDonald's" is not a defense. There is WAY too many animal products in her kids diet. All that saturated fat is not good. On top of that it's piled on top of white flour. Those breakfast burritos are grade A crap. Kids shouldn't be eating like that. Processed meats and cheese have no place in a child's diet.
I always, always check the marked down items. My store (Meijer) usually has a shelf that is slightly dented or overstock and I buy everything! A crunched box of cereal for half off?! I'm all about it!
So far I've watched all of your videos .. yes I stalked, took notes and utilized!!! Usually for my family of four I used 600 and ate out allot . My husband was not happy as you can imagine. THIS MONTH AFTER WATCHING YOUR BUDGET VIDEOS IVE SPENT 35$ !!!!!!!! And used everything in my fridge .. YOU SAVED MY LIFE !!!! THANK YOU ❤
I really loved this video! In a previous video you stated that we should budget based off of $100/person. Considering that, I was wondering what kind of food your family ate. It was refreshing to see you eat actual food! Also, I prefer to grocery shop online because I get TOO distracted to walk into a store haha but after watching this, I’m going to start ordering food online through Walmart. I enjoy it because as you shop you can see the total and stay on track and you’re also able to compare prices easier because you’re entering the food items into a search. Overall, this video was great and my fiancé and I are looking forward to our financial changes. THANK YOU!!
Love this!!! I think it comes down to knowing yourself! I know that I am horrible at prepping salad supplies. For me, it is worth spending that little bit more on pre cut stuff, because it is used! If I buy all the uncut stuff, it doesn't. So for me, it is cheaper to buy pre cut because it isn't wasted! So the applesauce cups and stuff, just comes down to being honest and realistic of what you can do! I love that you mixed up, some preportioned and some not!
I just discovered you tonight and am really enjoying binge watching your videos. We do the breakfast sandwiches different. I'll make 3 dozen buttermilk biscuits on Sunday morning, bake, cool then freeze on a baking sheet them toss them in a ziploc. We make our own sausage. After we grind it I will make little patties to go on the biscuit, cook, cool, freeze then in a freezer bag. Ham slices get frozen and then in a bag. Bacon you can do the same. Eggs get scrambled, poured onto a greased baking sheet, baked then cut into squares that fit on the biscuit, frozen then in a bag. THAT way, the kids pick what then want for a breakfast sandwich, microwaved and eaten. Love your enthusiasm in saving for a goal!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
her videos are so useful, I live alone.. don't eat out a lot but feel like still spending too much on my groceries (but also don't feel like eat.. healthier than I should)
Pro tip..cut your breakfast sandwiches in half before freezing them. They cook more evenly. Also put a slice of cheese on each side first, that way when you microwave it the cheese helps keep everything in place :)
Thank you for convincing me in getting a freezer. I've played with this idea in my head before (I've even taken cooking classes so I could learn how to prep meals in bulk for future consumption) but the one thing that has kept me from getting one was being worried about the electricity bill increasing, but ya know what - F it! It's worth the investment. What I SAVE on FOOD I'll be able to PAY for in electricity! Voila! THANK YOU MISSY! :) PS in the meantime I'm going to ask neighbours of mine to stock up some of my food (there's no excuse not to take any action - ha!)
You have really inspired me to reduce my grocery budget! My health and the health of my family is highly important to me so I buy all organic, mostly from local farmers. I buy my bread fresh from a local bakery or I make it myself at home ... etc and it is NOT cheap. Throw in chemical free cleaning products and recycled toilet paper and you get the idea. We are a family of four and 400 a month just does not cut it. However, by simplifying my meals, eating some meals vegetarian, I have been able to reduce my budget by a couple of hundred and I’m going to try to reduce little by little each month. In addition to that we have been eating more at home which has saved us even more money. Thanks for all your encouragement! Its made a big difference for us!
I live in Europe and maybe thats why I do not understand that, but why do children need to have in their lunches muffins, treats, fruit cups and apple sauce? This seems like a sugar-packed dessert and not a lunch (for the same reason I do not get the peanutbutter and jam sandwich idea). And to balance the sweetness they get cheese and pretzels or chips (= fat and salt). I always got from my mom a sandwich or two with veggies and some lunch meat or eggs and a fruit or juice. So did everybody else. Occasionally we would get a treat, but it was never a rule. We would also bring sweets to share on our birthday, that was something to look forward to! We could always buy something extra from our pocket money, but we soon learned that our 'budget' did not allow it too often.
Anna S. Yeah I dont get that either I get the fruit, the baby carrots but its just not healthy for your kids with all that sweets and jam and muffins to ant on top of what I would consider a treat they get more treats, like crisps and cookies?( what those they requested where) its just sugar, fat, salt an emty calories, Where I live kids get school lunches and they might bring a fruit and/or a sandwich with like eggs and sauage, or tuna, or cheese and ham with tomatoes and or salad, they get milk or water to drink for an one or two snack times a day depending on how old they are.
Anna S. I think its a European thing. Growing up in the Uk it was never carby or sugary. We had sandwiches, carrot sticks or cucumber sticks, somtimes a tomato (or it would be in our sandwich) a peice of fruit and (council pop ie tap) water. Breakfast would be porridge, or eggs and stuff and some fruit juice.(the only juice for the day) and dinner would be a rice dish or a pasta dish if it was a special meal. Mostly meat and 2 veg as we called it which was alway meat potatoes and veggies. Sometimes cottege pie or corned beef hash. Desserts was always fruit and a biscuit (cookie)
FYI, if you wash the cups after eating the applesauces, you can then use it to hold your salad dressing for the jar salad, the applesauce cup is the same size as the regular mason jar. Put your salad in the jar, fill the applesauce cup with dressing, place the applesauce cup into the jar, then screw the lid and ring on the mason jar. Then mix them when your about to eat.
I made mini bagel pizzas for the freezer before school started and they were a huge hit with my kids! We do breakfast sandwiches and burritos sometimes too.
Joanna Bell I toasted the mini bagels before adding sauce, cheese and pepperoni, and then just flash froze them so the cheese stuck to the sauce before I put them in ziplocs.
I don’t actually see any dinners here. I know you have components of a few (taco shells. Pasta.). How do you make complete meals from any of this? Would you recommend that viewers need to watch something like a full month overview to see where it’s all coming from? Love your energy and ideas!!
She looked through her fridge and freezer and pantry to see what she had. This is what she still needed to make meals. That’s why people spend so much money they go out and buy stuff for new meals and waste all the food they still have in their homes.
I once saw a video that showed how to make an AMAZING marinara full of hidden (shredded) veggies that I SWEAR tastes like meat sauce. Shred onion, zucchini, eggplant, carrots, tomatoes, bell peppers, garlic and mushrooms, it's heavenly, I have tried it on adults only but the cook said she has little kids and that is her favourite way of sneaking in veggies 😉
I love your channel; you always share so many useful tips! I would however love to see you explore more eco friendly options to replace all the saran wrap and zip lock bags to store your meals. There are tons of great alternative to single use plastic out there, have a look, have fun with it ! Someone like you can make a huge difference helping people making better choice for their family and our planet : )
You are so amazing. I love that you buy healthy food on a budget. My hubby and I cook clean and make alot of healthy recipes. I really enjoy cooking with him. He also make alot of recipes on his on that are awesome. I make my own chips out of wheat tortillas. So great with chili, soups and hummus🙂
I love your ships and how you explain, thank you! I have to change it a bit for Canada prices but even so I can do a huge shop for a great price! I tell everybody buy store brand! Most things taste identical too!
Yay loving the Costco spinach tubs omg sooo much spinach, but the bulk buy is great for our family ATM as we have a 7 month old so I just bag up what I hope to use and keep it in the fridge, then steam and purée the rest for bubs meals. Our family doesn't each much veg either so I too try and use mushies, spinach, grated carrot, and even dice/pulse up broccoli and cauliflower to help bulk up curries, spaghetti, shepherds pie or mince meat, hide veg in where I can. Also love to have a box of cous cous in the pantry on hand to make up with a frozen batch of curry or leftovers. Wish my 7 yr old would eat frozen sandwiches have to try them again maybe if I take them out the night before to defrost then take them out of the ziplock for her lunch box might be able to get her eating them? And Costco now have in stock pumpkin pie down under, loving it bought a whole pie for $8.99 (should have got two) cut it into wedges and froze hope they keep them on their stock list for a few w wks atleast and more Aussies give them a try, so yummy. I'm sure I was American in a past life or something??? Halloween, pumpkin pie/spice, baseball, ice hockey and of course Disneyland/world 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I freeze all my family sandwiches, the kids favourite being ham and cheese, saves so much time on a morning and no runnning around looking for things for lunch, because I make them straight away following my shop. Some great ideas.
Thank you so much! We struggle with our grocery budget. We try to have a stockpile as well, but it just seems like I get so little for what I spend. I love your attitude and how you explain everything.
Heads up on the potato thing, if you keep them in the fridge, apparently it releases a chemical that can cause cancer, and it’s advised that potatoes are stored in cool dark places👍🏻
I work in a fruit and vegetable shop. All potatoes come from the growers in refrigerated trucks, are processed in refrigerated warehouses and are stored out the back of the places you buy them in massive fridges. If they were to release a chemical that causes cancer then every person who eats/or has eaten potatoes in their lives would have cancer
Hi Jordan! We are only a family of 3 (husband, 11 month old baby boy and myself) but I love watching your videos so much. I'm saving for a separate freezer and my husband lovingly jokes around with me about my want to freeze everything. I buy in bulk and freeze almost everything but our fridge is so small. Thank you for doing these videos, you inspire me so much!
We are a family of 4 and I cook just about every meal and I spend $200 a week. That includes meats, drinks, toiletries, hygiene everything. I just can't get it down to a $100 a week. You are really good at what you do.
In my household, I have two chest freezers and one fridge freezer. I store items by type (frozen fruit, leftovers, raw beef, raw lamb, raw seafood, frozen veggies) in those $.50 reusable woven grocery bags you can buy in stores. This way I can haul out most of the contents of my huge chest freezer in under 2 minutes. I store things like large cuts of meat and whole turkey and chickens on the very bottom. Once in a great while I'll get caught short and not have any of what I thought I had left, but then dinner just adjusts accordingly. I don't keep any sort of list or system aside from using the bags. The bags work because I can go through my entire freezer is just a couple of minutes so I can take a mental inventory of what I'm getting low on etc. I also pull out meat that I'll use in the next few days whenever I do that so it has time to defrost in the fridge. I have a food saver and I ADORE it. I buy produce from the farmer's market in the summer and food saver it. I have enough roasted beets to last us the entire winter & I only paid $1 a bunch. I also have a year's worth of dill, pre-chopped bell and jalapeno peppers etc. as well. It's incredibly handy when you want to make a pizza if you have healthy toppings already prepped and in your freezer.
I buy extra when I have the money or extra when theres sales or major clearance so when that happens I put the new in front of the old say canned green beans or sauces. That's how I keep what's new and what's older. And what to use 1st. Same with produce of items in the freezer 😊
I’ve been taking salad for lunch to work for over a year now and I’ve found that buying nuts in the baking section of the grocery store is the cheapest way (but I also don’t have kids so maybe a bulk food store would be cheaper?) but I get a 150g bag of slivered almonds for like $2. You’ve taught me to opt for slicing and dicing your own food, and I USUALLY do, but nuts and cheese are my exception haha
I love the idea of pre-planning your food and freezing items, but is there a way that you can use less plastic wrap and maybe reduce the amount of plastics in the house like bottles and all. That would be a great way to promote a environment friendly lifestyle.
nikimirchandani she has her kids bring back the water bottles and they reuse it often. It’s a little harder with stuff you freeze because if a product expands in glass it could break. Do what you can. This works for her
“No captions are available for this video.”🙁 even automatic ones would be okay. I love your channel, just don’t want to wake my toddler up watching it. 😄
You are gorgeous! Your Block Schedule saved my life (mother of a 1 year old). My tip: We use tortillas for leftover cheese, veggies, sauces, EVERYTHING and make Tortizza (Tortilla - Pizza) you just have to put salsa on the tortilla and everybody can put on it what he/she likes. Then it goes for a few minutes in the oven and voila: fast meal and no leftovers
It is very funny to see how different our groceries are here in France ! You seem to eat a lot of what we call mexican things : taco, salsa, etc. Is it a american things or is it only your family ? I use a lot of veggies for my family, a lot of yogourt and a little meat. It would be funny to make a battle by filming our groceries shop :D
Sinnfael I would love to see the difference. It is not an American thing...just particular to her family...I buy more vegetables/fruit and a small amount of meat. We are a family of four. 😊
America is multicultural and we enjoy different cultures foods. BUT also consider she lives in the Western US and here we have a lot of Hispanic food influence. Mexican food is very popular and tasty and everywhere.
I’m hooked. Just found your channel. My boyfriend and I have just got our first place and we’ve been trying to grocery and meal prep. Haven’t been doing the best but this video has inspired me!!! Thank you!
Love your videos Jordan! Just wondering, how would you do a shop + stock that was vegetarian/vegan? It seems like a lot of the meal planning contains meat, cheese, or a whole lot of white bread. Would be great if you could make a video about meals that are more veg based.
Atar Herziger you can replace the meat in her ideas with beans, tempeh, or tofu and add sauces or spices to replace the cheese for extra flavor. Also buy double or triple the veggies and it will end up being the same price as buying meat because you're replacing it and roast a bunch at once to make things ahead of time and make sure you buy quinoa or brown rice and things like that with extra protein to fill you up. I'm obviously not Jordan lol, but I've bought vegetarian on a budget and it can be done just as easily especially if buying in bulk..
So true!! The nutrition to cost ratio would be much higher too! I think that's not the focus though. As a vegan who tries to eat mostly whole foods- minimal processed- it would probably demand a little bit more time but you can still freeze a lot, and the health and savings is totally worth it.
Your on the wrong channel. Look up fat lazy vegan and start from there. Someone who is not veg/vegan probably isn't going to make a video with more veg based meals if that's not how they want to eat
I think she meant CheapLazyVegan, an excellent resource, and if you want to do raw vegan KateFlowers is partially raw, and FullyRawKristina is as her name indicates.
This is amazing. I eat frozen meals 24/7 but am so weird about prepping and freezing my own foods even though its probably so much healthier! Thanks for sharing these ideas with us!
If you bring a large pan of water to boil, drop the whole ear of corn (2 or 3 at a time) in, minus the outer leaves, blanch for approx 2 mins and you can freeze it when its cool. Lasts ages in the freezer. I do this August time here in UK when the price of corn drops.
Jordan....do you meal plan for specific meals? You said a lot about school lunches and "like to have on hand" but didn't really hear a lot about specific meals?!?!
She stocks up and buys in bulk a lot of stuff she didn't show in this video. She also forms her list based off what's in her house. This isn't really a stand alone video, you kind of have to watch her other videos to understand how this fits in.
Love your channel!!i like how you organize everything and your diet is very good for American family , in my culture only college/university students eat like that.We eat 3 times a day: breakfast :any kind of porridge, dinner :soup with meat or russian borsh, dinner:meat, fish - Uzbek pilaf or russian cutlets(made from meat and veggies in oven).Every single day we eat brown rice, buckwheat -not only people , who want to be healthy , no, it’s not about healthy at all, it’s just culture.we don’t eat so much eggs, bread, pastaS,snacks, jams , cookies. We have dessert on a birthday party or when we have guests in our house.we drink homemade juice-it’s cheap ,without sugar ;or water or Mongolian tea, at school kids eat hommade food from thermos and fresh veggies, fruits.Every meal has to be hot and fresh.if we want a cake we just doing it in oven from scratch .But we like to eat fatty food.... I am preparing meat without fat for my children , they not happy with it, they love the way how their relatives preparing food , where everything is fatty.so, if I will eat your food ,my stomach will hurt and if you will eat my food , your stomach will hurt , too.cultural differences :)))nothing is good or bad ,everybody eat what they used to eat.
Thanks to a friend, I learned about you this morning, on your newer videos, but I’ve been binge watching you and I’m so thankful to my friend for sharing and you for uploading 😇❤️😄
Mine would forget their there. He rarely brings back his lunch containers, let alone remembers to take his lunch. Other times he'll leave it in the car... then it ends up bad and he has to go through a drive thru :(
Thanks for making a video about this. I've ALWAYS struggled with this. We always go over budget and it drives me crazy and makes me feel guilty. I can't figure out how to spend less but with this video and several of your other posts on Instagram. It has helped me a lot. Thank you! Make more please! Plus how did you become so wise?!
Would you ever consider getting reusable baggies for their sandwiches? Initially they're expensive, but down the line it really pays itself back because you're not having to buy so many zip loc bags! also great for the environment!
I cringed when I saw the drawer full of ziploc baggies lol. Reusable is the way to go, it really does pay for itself. Also there are tons of cute ones for kids;)
I sent reusable things for lunches, but they would get thrown out. It's great for adults, but doesn't work so well until your children are older. If anyone deserves the convenience stuff it's her 😀
We use spinach like crazy too....we make wraps. I'm not sure if you guys do this, but you can find really good wraps at Aldi's. I've bought them all...everywhere..and the ones at Aldi's are by far my favorite. They're super soft, 100percent whole wheat and do not rip. Thats the thing...wrap shells usually rip. But you can make up a bunch of chicken breast, u can use eggs, tuna, left over dinner meat etc....anything.....and then put whatever topping on them. We use everything! Bell pepper, onion, a ton of spinach, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese etc etc etc. Whatever u want. They are quick if u keep pre cut veggies in some containers in the fridge. Brown the wrap tortilla in a egg skillet...fill it...wrap...eat. it is a super quick, yummy meal for breakfast lunch or dinner.
Tip with the breakfast burritos...wrap them in paper towels and you can pop that into the microwave and heat that way versus wrestling with plastic wrap. Just keep them in a Ziploc in fridge while defrosting for the next morning. ;)
i love watching your videos, however here in ontario, the cost of groceries is crazy. the amount of what you got, compared to what i can get on a regular basis (even with everything onsale) wouldnt compare. its so sad. i would barely get half.
Katlyn Marie yep, here in Alberta too. It's sickening. How are families supposed to feed their kids healthy food when sometimes it costs at least $6 for a head of cauliflower or a bag of apples?!?
This is the first video of yours I have watched. I'm only 5 minutes in & already subscribed. I have a family of 6 (4 kids + my husband & myself). Grocery shopping always seems to be a struggle. And being a single income family makes it harder. Hoping to take your tips & put them to good use. Thank you for making these videos.
$200?! Not on ur life here in Canada, would be at least $300 Cnd. Irritates me big time, so tired of paying such ridiculous, inflated prices here. Love ur vids, great meal planning. Thanks for sharing.
Well of course your not going to spend 200 CANADIAN dollars on this because our money is worth so much less. If you calculated the difference and then went and got some good deals, you could do this. My mom spends 300 dollars on food and clothes for 5 grown ups, we eat a lot but we count every penny, we buy in bulk and when things are on sale we buy a lot of it and store it. This is totally possible.
its possible to do it here in Canada for 300 biweekly (family of 6) but I was laughing at her discount bread - at my local store it's at least 1.60 on sale - much cheaper to make it. the milk I figured out if you buy homo milk and then half it with water you can't taste the difference that way and I only need to buy 2 bags for 2weeks . Broccoli has way more calcium then milk anyways.
As a family of six, I so appreciate the stocking tips. I need to get better at making large batches and freezing them. Would love some of th recipes you mentioned. Especially the salsa. My kids can wipe out a large jar in one day. Thanks for always having positive, fun and Informative videos! You’re a joy to watch. Plus, as a Page (my first name, but named after my mom’s maiden name), I feel like you are good people 😉
i have just started watching your videos, im 17 and i dont have kids but i will plan to use these ideas for myself as i get older! tysm for these tips!
I have to share something funny. I have a 3 week old and shes is always fussy around the hours of 2 am to 6 not that entire time but between those hours lol. Well any ways. I continued to watch your videos in the hospital and now at home. This one video calms her down, it's so funny and amazing, I noticed when I was trying to watch it one day she was in a full blown colic cry and I put this on just to watch it again and ......... silence lol Yiur voice makes her better lol. Had to share
I want to love this video, the concept and how you've explained everything is easily broken down, and I know there are families on small budgets (incl. mine) that need ideas on how to get more for less. Sadly, the majority of the products shown are very unhealthy and not nutritious, even though 'healthy meal' was mentioned multiple times. These brands and products, incl the extra grains and processed foods include SO many toxic additives and extra sugar. Again, I see the attempt to include veggies and balanced meals, it just misses the mark a little. Or, not to your fault at all, the healthier brands & versions of those foods are NOT as affordable. The easy and cheap products are just laden with unhealthy ingredients (nitrates, MSG, high fructose corn syrup, colorants, artificial sweeteners, and so much more). I wish our food system wasn't so broke. Still, there are some good takeaways from this, so thank you! I just encourage others to do this, and try to be label readers at the same time, cutting out as much unnecessary ingredients as possible. Start one or two things at a time so that it's not so overwhelming and then you'll be able to find healthier alternatives...
Jessica Picken I love this video too but have the same concerns. If you are looking for meal prep with more whole foods, we have some you might like.--Tasha
Jessica Picken I was just thinking the same... and I have a foody teen, 1/2 pb n j for lunch... that's his snack between snacks.. and No, he isn't over weight
I totally agree. It's the same racket with the 'couponing' craze....everything that is cheap is unhealthy and processed. It does cost more to eat healthier generally. I love the make ahead ideas........but throwing the veggies and fruit into sweet breads isn't a healthy option either. :( I do love your budgeting tips and have watched many of your videos and you are fantastic......but this is just a frustration.
Weve been trying to cook at home to been eating out to much people are different some like plastic foil or natural everyone is different. Your doing great Girlie!!💖💞
That's me! I Hhaaaatteee cilantro and I always said to my friends who love it that it tastes like soap, and they couldnt understand why I would say that. I looked it up, and saw exactly this...I'm genetically predisposed to hate the stuff. Lol!
pssst...helpful hint since you use your freezer as much as I do. Let's talk ground meats...but the hunk in a ziplock bag, leave the end open and use your rolling pin to roll it out to fit the entire bag, seal it and freeze, total space saver and BONUS...time saver if you forget to defrost, "sheets of meat thaw faster (way faster) than hunks". great vid today, thanks. love your stuff.
Yes! Potatoes in the fridge! Growing up, my mom kept them out but I keep my apartment warm so they go bad. My friend told me that potatoes like the cold so in cold basements, they can be kept out. Mine keep much much longer in the fridge after he suggested that I put them in the fridge.
These ideas seem great for family's who are lower income, but if you're financially ok I don't understand why you wouldn't want to just spend a little extra for healthier food especially for your children. My family has an income of maybe 40,000 a year which isn't great but we choose to put our money towards the best quality food for our daughters health. We spend about $200 A week on 90% organic food for a family of 3, and I feel like it's so worth it to keep us from getting sick and avoiding chemical filled foods.
just wanted to add that I don't mean my comment in a rude way. I'm just genuinely curious I guess lol. This video is still very informative. Thank you for sharing : )
She doesn't tell anyone what they should feed their own family, she just talks about budgeting. And if you can feed your family of three organic food for a whole week for just $200, then you would be within what Jordan budgets for food...Congratulations! But she is feeding a family of 7 (now 8) and she cannot buy organic and stay within her own budget. She has never claimed to be perfect, she is just sharing her own tips on how her family budgets and other hints on how she saves time and money doing things for a large family. It is up to the viewer to pick and chose what is helpful for our own family and what is not.
Love these videos and how prepared you are ! I do wish you would consider using a less waste lifestyle though....saran wrap and plastic baggies and tin foil seem to be a large part of your prep. I hope you reuse these items and also have alternatives such as Tupperwear ! Walmart is terrible for wrapping everything in plastic which you then unwrap and wrap in more plastic...would be awesome to see you teach us and your family how to be more aware of fixing this !!!
She has said in other video's that she reuses the plastic water bottles, just rinses them and refills them from the tap until they are lost or crack. She also said she reuses plastic baggies when she can. Saran wrap would be difficult to reuse, but I would be surprised if she didn't reuse the tin foil as that is pretty expensive and easily reused if it isn't dirty.
Tell me about it. I hate that Wal-Mart stopped price matching!!! I would only do a few things each week, but it made a difference. The stores I matched with are closed by the time I finish work at night so this way I could get the sale prices all week long without having to drive all over town. In the end though I found better deals elsewhere so they just get less of my $$ each week except for soda because I know they will match those prices in SavingsCatcher.
I put all my spinach in a freezer bag, pull it out once frozen, crush it all, and put it pack in the freezer. It keeps so well and is so easy to put in stuff without clumping together.
How do you stay motivated to cook that often and do all your other mom duties, I only have one baby, 9 months old, and I'm struggling to Stay motivated, I hate cooking and never do, I wish I could stay as energetic as you , or you seem! Haha
nikki escobar hey this is from a mom of one almost two in a month and yeah my one year old is hard to take care of and it actually gets easier to cook because then your little one will start eating big kid food and make sure u try to get a ton of sleep because that nine month old might not sleep all night my almost a year and a half year old does just sleep when your baby sleeps if u can also put your baby on a schedule.
Remember that you are still with a baby, that takes most of your time and energy. As a chef I have trouble getting that you dont like cooking but as a single person that only Cook for one I can understand hating to Cook, but cooking can be fun if you include others your child is still too Young but maybe not your husband, your friends and family, look for new ideas dont be afraid to try new flavours, and play with your food yeah you read that right Have fun with it make small octopy out of the ends of hotdogs, try blue potatoes if you can find them, use cookie cutters to good use on boiled carrots or ham and cheese, use the net and youtube for ideas. Most ppl who struggle with faving fun with cooking are a bit stuck they usually makes only a few dishes so its the same old stuff and that is boring and dont make you go Yay let get cooking, as I Said use your friends and family invite them home on a free day like a saturday and Cook together have fun and sip a little wine and do meal prep together like they bring some ingredients and you get some and let them bring containers and make enough food for the both of you to put in the freezer, share recipies. Put on your favourite music and dance or sing along when cooking, or Idk do yoga as you wait for the water to boil, and take turns lets say your guy makes the meals for a day or the whole week if he is up to the task challenge him to make it then see who is the best chef in the family that month, the Winner gets to choose the place for your date night and the loser must shut up and go along even if its a rewatching of the whole twilight movies or going to the museum and learn the history of trains or whatever. Be fare and honest when judging though. Lol and I dont care about what age you are but having dinosaur shaped sandwishes to go with My lunch always makes me smile instead of a boring square one like everyone has.
Buy an InstaPot. It does most of the work for you & it's really versatile. It can live on your counter top & it's only one bowl to wash. There are a ton of cookbooks out there and videos. I also use tools to cut my prep time. For example, I have an onion chopper, it works for bell peppers, jalapenos, and onions. It cuts the prep time by 75%. I use my nutribullet to prep 6 or more cloves of garlic at a time (or buy the jarred it's fine). When I prep veggies, I use mason jars to store whatever I won't use that night in the fridge. I even freeze prepped stuff like onions and peppers...if it's going in a dish that's going to be cooked, some stuff has the same texture after it's cooked even if it was frozen first. Meat - anything that you can just toss into the pot is great. Ground beef, boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs, boneless pork chops etc. You can also buy stuff prepped like the canned diced tomatoes or cooked chickpeas - it's just one less step for you to do at home and the nutritional content is still there. Always make enough for a few meals because it takes the same amount of prep either way. If you get sick of it before it's gone, most stuff freezes just fine in individual tupperware containers. Avoid freezing anything with a dairy-based sauce though because that doesn't work very well. Soups are also great in the winter because you just dump everything in and let it cook slowly on the slow cooker setting. Salads are a pain if you're doing all of the prep yourself so I would just buy the stuff from the salad bar if you're craving a salad...at least until your little one grows up a bit. Some stuff is easy though - I buy baby carrots and just stir chopped dill or parsley into some plain full fat yogurt for a dip. Whole cucumbers work too as it only takes a couple of seconds to cut one up. Finally, check if any of your local grocery stores offer delivery or grocery pick-up. You can order online and even just have a go-to reorder list that you can click and order in 10 seconds. Even if you have to pick it up, you're still saving so much time by not having to shop for ingredients in the store with your little one in tow that it leaves you with just that bit more energy for a 10 minute meal prep that will feed you for 3 or 4 meals.
Our Walmart sells turkey breakfast sausage for $1.50 per roll. It's an excellent deal, and I cook it, add it to a dozen beaten eggs in a bowl with salt and pepper and shredded cheese, put in a greased 9x13, and bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes. Then just cut into squares and make breakfast sandwiches that you can individually wrap and put in the freezer. We make homemade biscuits, but you could use the English muffins as well.
'ramen has NO nutritional value...but whatever' - you gotta love her. She keeps it real 😳😬😂😂
We eat Ramen
You can just toss some spinach and meat into it to make it a little more nutrient dense
Amazing super Shero Mom👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Michelle Val. E I’m eating Raman now lol 😂
LOVE! Gonna try it
that sounds so good! I love the french toast sticks, I think ill try a variation of that!
That sounds so good
@@bethoney96 I do this all the time, I will flash freeze them on sheet pan and then throw them in a zip lock bag. Kids love it.
@@takara327 that's exactly what I do!!
Christina S yes I agree I love noodles and egg
I’m not a mom or anything but I am moving out for the first time and I have been binge watching your videos they are extremely helpful!!!! 😊😊
Hi i will also start posting on my channel by the end of the month check out akct tv i also have a one pot pasta
Lol at the people thats complaining...thats her family , Her household and none of your d business.
Lol you’re so right till it’s cps’s business
@@markiblah450 why would CPS be involved
As a brazilian, it's so weird seeing only 2 onions with all that stuff haha we put onions on EVERYTHING!!
Same with Indians
I am not Mexican or Indian, but I also put onions and garlic in everything :-)
Juci Rodrigues same with Greeks.
Heck im white and canadian and we put onions and everything too
Yeah like, i put a lot of onion and garlic in everything
I love how practical your shopping is. I hate all those videos were it’s like “we will eat a cucumber and ranch for dinner” uh no. I’m hungry fool. I’m going to search your channel for the salsa and other recipes. I hope you posted those too!
Did you ever find the salsa recipe?
Jeannie Stokes it’s on her website! funcheaporfree.com/the-best-homemade-salsa-recipe-all-you-need-is-a-blender-printable-recipe-included/?m
Amen!!
If I were her, I would not care what people thought about me using plastic. She is not holding a gun to anyone’s head and saying “use plastic or I will shoot”, so it is not anyone’s business.
Jane Kemner Jordan is AWESOME!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 May God richly bless Jordan and her family! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Rebecca R I've been doing this for years. Way cheaper!
Rebecca R but what happens when your kids never brings them back home. 💸💸💸💸💸💸
Kids suck.
Jordan never said this was eco friendly or a Whole Foods haul people.
I would never feed my family food from Walmart!!Thats disgusting!! Whole Foods carries high quality ethical brands.
You should make a video on how you get ready for church on Sunday.....I just have 3 kids and every sunday we barely make it on time.
Good idea!
I usually do mandarin oranges, chicken, dried cranberries and unsalted sunflower seeds.
that sounds good! i may try it - any dressing?
Did you know "dried" cranberries are actually just the cranberry husks after the juice has been extracted. That's right, they take OUT the nutritional juice then partially re-hydrate them with sugar water. Yes, there's some fiber in the cranberry husk but if you're thinking it's all the nutrition of the fresh fruit, you've been duped.
@@rachiti dang, that makes sense, learning new stuff daily still at 30 lol
I microwave my corn with the husk on for 3 minutes.
There is NO way that amount of food would feed her family for even 1 week.
well she give the food to her kids by count , i saw one one time she gave her kids 15 cheerios to the oldest and like 8 to the little ones.
I am a cook and a mo
m. Noway these groceries will feed a family of 7 for two weeks. Come on now
Alison Brawdy I said the same, where is the 🍖?
That is a lot of food for $200 especially all the veggies! I try my best to coupon and preplan my grocery trips to ensure I am getting the best deals:)
This is the most realistic "celebrity" grocery-shopping video I've ever seen. Thanks for showing off your Great Value canned goods and the discounted bread, it gets very tiresome seeing "I only paid $4.99 for this loaf of organic whole-wheat non-GMO brand-name bread!" when I'm trying to figure out how we can stretch $50 of grocery money over the next week... xD
Celebrity? Lol
I love these types of videos. Thank you for explaining what you are going to do with each item. Great ideas!
Exactly. Take what you can get from the video and move on.
Jesus Christ Saves. ❤️🕊
I agree that processed meat is no good, but cheese is a calcium source. Plus kids need some fat in their diet. Definitely whole fat milk .
Film your dinners for a week.
"I'll eat whatever is left over on their plate" lol that so me
her videos are so useful, I live alone.. don't eat out a lot but feel like still spending too much on my groceries (but also don't feel like eat.. healthier than I should)
Pro tip..cut your breakfast sandwiches in half before freezing them. They cook more evenly. Also put a slice of cheese on each side first, that way when you microwave it the cheese helps keep everything in place :)
I love that you give suggestions of things to make! I see so many recipes that say 'simple' with fifteen ingredients. Thank you!
PS in the meantime I'm going to ask neighbours of mine to stock up some of my food (there's no excuse not to take any action - ha!)
Anna S. Not only that, I feel like they give them too much food. My lunch growing up was a healthy sandwich, some fruit and water.
Anna S. Yeah I dont get that either I get the fruit, the baby carrots but its just not healthy for your kids with all that sweets and jam and muffins to ant on top of what I would consider a treat they get more treats, like crisps and cookies?( what those they requested where) its just sugar, fat, salt an emty calories, Where I live kids get school lunches and they might bring a fruit and/or a sandwich with like eggs and sauage, or tuna, or cheese and ham with tomatoes and or salad, they get milk or water to drink for an one or two snack times a day depending on how old they are.
clothy cloth yeah and the treat was choosing what kind of fruit you got to eat that day.
K...... ???
“Huevos rancheros, if you are gringo, you sound like that” LOL, I love it. Wonderful meal prep ideas!
Great suggestion! Especially for adults who brown bag it to work! Most schools don't allow glass in kids lunch boxes for obvious reasons.
Mel Gon she plans her shopping lists based on what she has in the refrigerators and deep freezers.
I agree....no dinners. Just lunches that she mentioned.
She has other videos on where she gets her meat and she buys some things in bulk so she doesn't have to buy some things from week to week.
She looked through her fridge and freezer and pantry to see what she had. This is what she still needed to make meals. That’s why people spend so much money they go out and buy stuff for new meals and waste all the food they still have in their homes.
How much hand holding do you need to feed yourself and your family....
Halloween, pumpkin pie/spice, baseball, ice hockey and of course Disneyland/world 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for posting an sharing your life i have 5 kids also 4 boys and 1 girl, we are a family of 7 so these videos are great
I freeze all my family sandwiches, the kids favourite being ham and cheese, saves so much time on a morning and no runnning around looking for things for lunch, because I make them straight away following my shop. Some great ideas.
Can you do a grocery haul every time you shop? So many good ideas! Loved it 😊
Thank you so much!
Sounds fake. Fear mongering
Just got back from Costco! Yay stocktober!
A Beautiful Horizon : Essentials...... have always tried to keep it under 150.00 tops........cause you can literally blow your budget in that store
We are a family of 4 and I cook just about every meal and I spend $200 a week. That includes meats, drinks, toiletries, hygiene everything. I just can't get it down to a $100 a week. You are really good at what you do.
You should do a series on make ahead foods!! I’d love to see tutorials!
I love the freezer breakfast burrito idea. I have to be at work at 6 am and I hate mornings so that would make my day much easier.
Would love to know how you keep track of what you have in the pantry and freezer. Do you have an inventory list or system?!
Yes she explained in another video she takes inventory before she goes shopping or prepping her meals for the week
This works for her
Jordan’s personality is so captivating! Very entertaining and interesting
Love hearing this!
Sinnfael no we make Spanish, Italian, Indian, French or other nationalities food. It makes it more diverse and tastier. America is very multicultural
Thank you!
Great video. We love watching you and your tips.
Wow the first time I didn't cringe at a non vegan grocery haul. You're doing great! Your kids will appreciate all you've done for them in their youth.
Gabriella Perry thank you
I think she meant CheapLazyVegan, an excellent resource, and if you want to do raw vegan KateFlowers is partially raw, and FullyRawKristina is as her name indicates.
This is amazing. I eat frozen meals 24/7 but am so weird about prepping and freezing my own foods even though its probably so much healthier! Thanks for sharing these ideas with us!
Thank you for the video, I use dark bananas for my smoothie and I don't have to add sugar to my smoothie..
You said a lot about school lunches and "like to have on hand" but didn't really hear a lot about specific meals?!?!
me either, and Jordan didn't discuss dinners that much. So she just spent 200 bucks on breakfast, lunch and snacks
You’re supposed to put potatoes in a cold dark place like a pantry. It prevents them from keep growing and makes them last longer.
Karenna Gridley, a fridge is dark and cold. So she’s doing it right!
Thanks to a friend, I learned about you this morning, on your newer videos, but I’ve been binge watching you and I’m so thankful to my friend for sharing and you for uploading 😇❤️😄
I'm so glad you found us! ❤️
Jordan Page, FunCheapOrFree 🥳 *celebratory dance* 💃🏻 lol
My husband loves burritos in the morning but I never thought to freeze them ahead of time!!!
Also there are tons of cute ones for kids;)
judith morales except kids loose them at school so you ah e to keep buying
we used waxed paper for sandwiches
Kids still throw shit away.
Started watching your videos this week after seeing your laundry video.
Any links or tips on a budget for the UK viewers?
Tip with the breakfast burritos...wrap them in paper towels and you can pop that into the microwave and heat that way versus wrestling with plastic wrap. Just keep them in a Ziploc in fridge while defrosting for the next morning. ;)
And if the paper towel is slightly damp, the wrap doesn't dry out and become stiff.
i love watching your videos, however here in ontario, the cost of groceries is crazy. the amount of what you got, compared to what i can get on a regular basis (even with everything onsale) wouldnt compare. its so sad. i would barely get half.
Bronx and Rosie was just gonna say this would run around 300-400 in edmonton. over 10 bucks for 2 gallons of milk.. 😅
I live im canada as well and was thinking this would be close to 400 bucks....and no real meals here!
Same in Australia. Food is so expensive. And we don't have coupons.
This is totally possible.
its possible to do it here in Canada for 300 biweekly (family of 6) but I was laughing at her discount bread - at my local store it's at least 1.60 on sale - much cheaper to make it. the milk I figured out if you buy homo milk and then half it with water
you can't taste the difference that way and I only need to buy 2 bags for 2weeks .
Plus, as a Page (my first name, but named after my mom’s maiden name), I feel like you are good people 😉
You must have a big freezer... 😂
She has 3 or 4. There is a video all about her freezers.
Watch to the end of the video...she tells us that she has several freezers full of things she will use to help stretch her food haul into meals!
i have just started watching your videos, im 17 and i dont have kids but i will plan to use these ideas for myself as i get older! tysm for these tips!
I have to share something funny. I have a 3 week old and shes is always fussy around the hours of 2 am to 6 not that entire time but between those hours lol. Well any ways. I continued to watch your videos in the hospital and now at home. This one video calms her down, it's so funny and amazing, I noticed when I was trying to watch it one day she was in a full blown colic cry and I put this on just to watch it again and ......... silence lol
Yiur voice makes her better lol. Had to share
I love how you arent ashamed that you shop at walmart. Most youtubers are ashamed of that, and truthfully they shouldn't be, they got some good stuff!
Jessica Picken I think this is a very good comment!
She can literally eat soap and light bulbs if she wants. It's her life. You do you and let her live how she wants.
Weve been trying to cook at home to been eating out to much people are different some like plastic foil or natural everyone is different. Your doing great Girlie!!💖💞
Did you know that there is a genetic predisposition to hating cilantro? For approximately 15-20% of the population, cilantro tastes like soap.
That's me! I Hhaaaatteee cilantro and I always said to my friends who love it that it tastes like soap, and they couldnt understand why I would say that. I looked it up, and saw exactly this...I'm genetically predisposed to hate the stuff. Lol!
Damn... that sucks for those who hate cilantro. It's amazing. So good in rice or sauce for tacos
It really does :)
I cant stand it, so it's nice to know theres a reason other than just me being picky 🤣
It's actually genetic
pssst...helpful hint since you use your freezer as much as I do.
People are like “where’s the rice” or “where’s the meat”. Her kids don’t have to eat meat; they can get proteins elsewhere.
Maybe she's thinking ahead to 5 college tuitions.
Damn why do you care? Lmao if you can afford it or not who gives a fuck. Your a fucking weird bitch
Your video is so helpful. I didn’t realize you could freeze so much!! I hadn’t heard about freezing cheese sticks or muffins. I love all of your tips!
She does have five kids. I can't imagine raising 5 and heaven forbid, make everyone on UA-cam happy.
I love watching your videos and seeing all your tips. One thing that has caused our Grocery budget to go up is stores around us no longer price match.
You look just like Blake lively lol omg 😍❤️
Rachiti your comment saved my life!
We make homemade biscuits, but you could use the English muffins as well.
haha someone count how many times the word “freeze” is said!
i love your videos you’re such an inspiration
Just found this channel, I’m already obsessed.. could be the wine but no... this is just amazing.
