"Which a lot of plants like natural daylight, because, huh, you look outside and a lot of stuff grows in natural daylight." So funny! xD AWESOME TIP!!
Your welcome 😆
I use an eu version mounted ca 10 cm above the tank,on that one I cut of the "bulb" or dimmer thus increase the light output.I belief planst like that light even better.Like your videos.
Thank you
GREAT ADVICE
You think this would be ok for a 20 long?
Peace ✌️
How does this video have so few views?! Glad I found your channel. Subbed
Thank you
Would this work on a 20g long for things like Ludwigia and Cabomba? More midlight demands?
These things are great, they perfectly fit over 10g and 20g tanks. Only thing is if they get a bit too much water in them, they eventually short out.
I've never had one short out on me but I also run polycarbonate lids that do a pretty good job of keeping all the water inside the tank.
@@TrafishAquatics yeah I unfortunately don't have lids on all my tanks lol but currently I'm using Aqueon Deluxe full hood with a t8 floramax plant growth bulb. It's pretty dim lighting so I am experimenting with a walmart plant growth light that gives off a blue and pink lighting as it is much brighter. I wonder if it's too much lighting? On a 20 gallon planted tank.
I imagine it's fine, I actually run the Walmart t8 led tubes on my 55 gal planted and they work great if you wanted to try another option, I'll get you a link
These are the ones I use, they come in 18", 24", and 48"

@@TrafishAquatics Alrighty thanks m8! Your tanks are amazing btw. Those bulbs are surprisingly cheap.
I was wondering if you have any carpeting plants growing under these lights? If so, do they do well? Also, I can't seem to find your poly lid video, if you could attach a link ti it for me here. Thank you.
Just wondering how this is still working for you and growth/etc
Works great, all plants I've put in it have grown well
@@TrafishAquatics Nice to hear! I am redoing my setup for a bunch of tanks for breeding, and wanted inexpensive light that will handle some low light plants without breaking the bank.
This will work for you for sure
Subscribed! just like I said I would on your comment in Fresh Water Fish Freaks
Awesome thank you!
It looks like it's only 5000k and 1200 lumens. Shouldn't you have 6500k for plants and more lumens than that?
It depends on tank depth for lumens, I have these lights on a 150 gal (28" tall) and grow low light plants well, plants will use almost all spectrums of light to grow, before led lights we used 2700k T8 bulbs to grow plants, now we have all kinds of different spectrums to to to get "ideal" lighting for our plants. Though natural daylight outside is closer to 5000-5500k.
@@TrafishAquatics That's good to hear about this light. I'm using a 6500k ccfl light with a clamp lamp right now. I have some water sprite growing out of the tank so if I got this, the WS wouldn't get light anymore (other than ambient). That said, the other plants would get more light. My tank is 30" long and 12" high. I'm thinking this might do a good job. I'd probably leave the clamp lamp up though b/c I won't be able to see jack during the tank cleanings if I didn't have it. Thanks for the info!
Your welcome, This would likley work pretty well I'd used that way, the plants in my 20 high are thriving with it so I have no complaints 😁

@@TrafishAquatics When you're cleaning the tanks, what do you use to light them up once you move the lamp off the top of the tank? Is it ambient light? My room is pretty dark. That's why I need to use the clamp lamp.
Have you run these on 75g tanks?
I actually have one on my 150 next to a 4-ft LED shop light and the one row of LEDs that are in these are just as bright as the two rows of LEDs in the shop light
How many hours a day do you leave the light on for planted tanks?
That depends on the plants and if your running co2, but normally I start at 6 hours and adjust up or down if needed
@@TrafishAquatics Appreciate it.
You're welcome
