Hey guys, I have seen some comments about the recovery file not being inside the pixel experience zip package and that’s completely fine. As I mentioned in this video, pixel experience recovery is bundled with the rom package for most cases but not all. So when you are downloading the rom from the official website, please check if there’s a separate download link for the recovery (it should be present just below the rom link)
this has to be the easiest guide i have ever seen on installing a custom rom. wow you made it really really easy to follow and captivating at the same time
I still remember the video you uploaded a year ago Which seriously helped me a lot, literally a lot to unlock my phones bootloader and flash the PE+ rom since then even today i am commenting this form PE+ rom Thanks a lot brother ❤ 🙏

Thanks sir! It worked fantastically! I am commenting from my Redmi 8 with pixel rom installed but there was this one time I was stuck because I didn't put the rom zip in the correct path and you should mention it too that before doing the sideload installation, paste the rom file in the platform tools folder and those who are stuck with a boot logo and can't reboot their phone because they didn't do the steps mentioned above you shouldn't worry, wait for half an hour and if it still doesn't boot, you should press your power button and vol down key to shut down the phone from boot logo and then press the power and vol up button to go back to recovery mode and then do the following adb installation with the steps mentioned above. Thanks!
@ShrivardhansinghDeora Try some other rom, or if it's pixel then try other version, pixel is the easiest one for sideloading w no errors and make sure your bootloader is unlocked.
bro idk how to thank you enough i tried flashing such a rom 2 years ago through some other yt channel, ended up hardbricking my phone today i got your video and finally did it power to you
Hey guys! I have seen some comments about pixel experience recovery not working/getting errors. Please check these things before flashing. 1. If your phone has a snapdragon processor, this method will mostly work but do check the website if anything else is mentioned, sometimes the developers will provide a separate recovery that you need to use (check the device changelog on the pixel experience website) 2. As mentioned in this video, pixel experience recovery might be included with the rom zip file but that's not the case for every device, some devices have a separate recovery and you will find it on the website (so you don't need to extract the pixel experience zip file if there's a separate recovery for your phone) 3. I have tried this method on 3 Xiaomi devices with a snapdragon processor and i had no issues, so please follow the steps carefully.
I followed you every instructions carefully but when i entered (fastboot boot recovery.img ) nothing happend in device but one error in pc booting failed (remote: 'unknown reason' ) Fastboot error command failed. And not my device stucked in fastboot loop. Please help me sir
Hello sir please help me😢 I have installed pixel experience costom rom in Nokia 6.1 plus but I have not get Google photos unlimited storage 😢 . please help me 😢😢
Watching this on Pixel Experience ROM 🥳 on my Xiaomi 11 lite 5G NE. My phone feels so fricking new!!! I thought of switching to iPhone because of the lag and clutter of MIUI, but after flashing this ROM, I decided I'll use this phone 1.5-2 years more until it breaks.
You can do it using your phone only. If the custom rom comes with an updater, you can simply update the rom like you do it on a normal phone. If there's no updater, you need to boot to recovery, clear cache and flash the latest rom zip file, that's it.
Hi there I'm a teen whose redmi note 9 pro support has been discontinued so one question do we have to change the recovery on this phone and any other changes while installing using this tutorial?
Yeah might be an issue with the drivers.. you can try installing google usb drivers through device manager by following this guide. First download the zip package using this link - developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb Then follow the steps using this below link developer.android.com/studio/run/oem-usb
For Mi 11x, they're showing "deprecated" status instead of "stable" on PE site. What's that? Is it safe to flash that rom? Or should I look for other ROMs?
Yes it's safe. Right now there are no maintainers so the update has stopped. Mi 11x is a popular phone, it'll most probably come back. You can also look for other roms in the meantime..
Please Help 🙏 Mere pas Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 he aur muze usse daily driver aur important aur personal use karna he. Mere Zenfone mein abhi stock pie he jisse muze itni shikayat nahi aur stock mein kuch bugs bhi nahi hote. Toh mein stock mein hi rahu ya phir esa koi custom rom he jo stock se best he with no bugs at all, safe aur secure bhi aur updates bhi he. Toh mein kya karu please suggest kare important he. 🙏
Stock rom thoda zyada stable rahega compared to custom rom, lekin purana version hai android ka aur mujhe pata nahi security updates aate hain kya tumhare phone mai.. tumhare upar poora depend hai agar naya android version try karna hai toh pixel experience sahi rahega isme zyada bugs nahi rehte but battery backup ka issue hota hai kabhi kabhi.. updates toh abhi hain tumhare phone ke liye aur aage bhi mostly milenge but poora guarantee de nahi skte. Ek bar lineage os bhi dekh skte ho.. mera suggestion yehi hai ki try kar skte ho pixel experience aur lineage, acha nahi laga toh wapas stock mai ja skte ho..

Tysm! this vid has been a great help There were only 2 issues I faced that took some time 1st was that fastboot wasnt being recognised, so I had to install/update drivers manually 2nd was that the fastboot boot recovery.img (at 2:23) command instead of booting me into recovery mode, it kept booting into miui idk why so I had to manually press buttons instead Other than that there were no problems, and this video is wayy more well organised which saved my brain from dying, I appreciate it
actually, some phones do not support boot function or is broken. Such as in my old huawei phone from 2017. fastboot reboot recovery takes to emui e-recovery. so you have to manually boot into the recovery.
hello bro i am crying right now because i was flashing the custom rom from some other youtuber procedure and in his video he didn't tell me about the the platform file and i did it directly and my phone has been suffering from bootloop and i have given it for repair but i want to ask bro if i copy this file in volume e folder in my pc will the procedure will work and is this procedure is safe because when my phone is going to repair i again going to do this through the help of your video and hope so it work because this time my house members will gonna kick me out of the house if my phone suffers from bootloader once again due to my these silly things . And please bro reply me !
Hi bro.. platform tools is going to work wherever you keep it.. you just need to follow the steps properly and that's it.. you can also let me know the device you are using and I'll check if you need to follow any additional steps 😊
Then this method will work but you need to download pixel experience plus zip file and the recovery file separately from the official website. you don't need to extract pixel experience plus zip file as mentioned in this video because the recovery file is separate for your phone.
but bro i want to ask one thing that a mobile reparing shop can repair my mobile because i have already given it to the mobile repairing shop @@techdocyoutube
you can either use twrp recovery or pixel experience recovery for installation. magisk is not required for installing this rom (it is required to root your phone)
I own redmi k50i. I want a simple rom just like my stock rom is, not interested in any customisations. I just need to install a custom rom to get 90/120 fps in games. Could u recommend me a custom rom for that purpose and the installation process for that pls?
bro my rom only flashed upto 45% after that it kept saying error but when I rebooted my phone I booted into pixel experience plus is my rom full or is it missing some features due to the erorr plz reply@@techdocyoutube
Download twrp recovery on your pc and rename the file to recovery, then copy the recovery file and paste it inside the extracted platform tools folder. Other steps will be similar..
Make sure you have the recovery.img file in the platform tools folder and type cmd only after opening the platform tools folder. Watch his video carefully without skipping any part.
I am installing pixel experience on redmi note 12 4g, I do all the steps in the video and manage to install it without error but on reboot, despite like you do factory reset, it stays stuck on xiaomi logo. I notice that the installation stops at 47%, on cmd it says total xfer: 1.00x and on the phone instead it says install completed with status 0
Yes.. it should work on Redmi Note 8 pro as per official website (flashing instructions are similar). And if you are doing everything from the beginning, you have to format the data (if your bootloader is not unlocked and you will be unlocking it, your phone will get formatted)
Hi, thanks for a great tutorial. I am having a problem I hope you can advise on. I have a Redmi 4x running stock MIUI 11.0.2 (Android 7.1.2). Since you flashed 13+ version of pixel experience, it’s a retrofit version and the instructions are different. You need to use the recovery that’s mentioned on the website. Right now I am looking at 12 August 2023 version of pixel experience (13+) on the official website and if you look at the change-log, they have provided a link to the recovery and the updated instructions. You would need to follow those instructions..
Excellent tutorial, it worked for me the first time on an RN10P. Thank you very much for your help. In case an update comes out? Should this same process be done or should the new package be downloaded and installed automatically from the phone settings? I would appreciate if you could clarify that doubt. Greetings from Chile!
Hey, glad the video was helpful 😊 If the rom comes with an updater, then you just need to update it like you do it on a normal phone, download the update and the rom is going to update automatically. However, if the new update is a different android version, like android 13 to android 14 update, you need to download the package, reboot to recovery, clear cache and flash the update, that's it..
I understand, when changing the version then I would have to put the device in recovery mode (pixel experience) and through the update option install the new version. When clearing the cache, isn't the information lost like with a true factory reset? Thanks for answering.@@techdocyoutube
Yes bro they will work but you should go with any other custom rom because pixel experience development is stopped now and you will not receive any updates.
Bro I followed these steps to install pixel experience after giving command of recovery image, my device stuck at redmi logo but I lastly retrieved my mobile through platform tools and fastboot rom files through cmd
Help me! After a do fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and fastboot boot recovery.img the phone just goes blank instead of booting into the pixel experience recovery and when i hold power and volume up it opens mi recovery 5.0.
So recovery is not flashed I guess, please check the steps again. Recovery image file should be inside the platform tools folder when you type the commands. If you have followed the above steps and still get an error, let me know the device you are using I'll check it out.

Hello Techdoc, and thank you for your videos. I recently unlocked my redmi note 8, and am thinking of applying this custom rom in the video here, but since the camera apps are a 50-50 when it comes to custom roms, some have problems etc, do the video calls on apps such as instagram or messenger etc get affected too? Or will the video quality (or video functionality even) be as it was previously?
I don't think that's going to happen, yeah the camera apps are a hit or miss but I have not seen any issues with whatsapp or Instagram video calls , they should work fine..
@@techdocyoutube Hello again, i have succesfully unlocked my device and followed every step in your videos. But after i flash the pixel exp recovery, and even tho it says that it was successful through the cmd, i cant get the phone to boot into the pe recovery, it boots into the miui one. I think there might be an issue with the command you are using or the file name, check if the spacing between the commands is accurate. If that's done, you can let me know

i want to flash pixelexperiennce plus on my mi a2, which comes with android 8 out of the box. my question is that the guide says to upgrade to android 10 before proceeding; if i follow your method, do i need to upgrade at all to flash it?
this video is the official method for most xiaomi phones but yes there are some additional steps for certain xiaomi devices. If the official guide says to upgrade to android 10, then it would be better to follow it to avoid any issues.
hey, i'm getting this error i couldn't find a solution for. when i put this command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" it doesn't function properly because it says this: fastboot: error: cannot load 'recovery.img': No such file or directory do you think you could help me?
So when you type the recovery twice, it will work only if the name of the recovery file is recovery. Instead you can type fastboot space flash space recovery space and drag the recovery file into the command prompt window and hit enter, it should flash the recovery file (I just wrote space here, but don't type it and use the space bar)
For some custom roms, recovery is auto updated once you update the ROM and this applies for official recommended recovery. But if you're manually updating the recovery, you can simply flash the latest version of it

These exact steps won't work for your phone because you need to flash the vendor boot file before flashing the recovery. Not the normal way.. I have never tried it but you need root to flash miui cam. It's better to find a different custom rom that comes with miui cam by default (you can check pixel os but you have to check if it comes with miui cam for your phone) or just use gcam.

Yes you will see the OEM unlock option under developer settings, same as vivo devices but they don't allow bootloader unlocking (and there are no custom roms for vivo/oppo phones)
Can you make a short video like this on how to go back to MIUI from Pixel Experience? As I'm planning to install this PE rom on my device but in case if I don't like the user experience then I would need to go back to the stock rom😅

hey bro. Whenever I try to install Pixel Experience ROM with the help of TWRP recovery watching another UA-camr's video, I get some errors and a/b partition problem or my phone is also bricked. Is there a possibility of some error with this method? Or is there a chance that the phone may be bricked? Well I have never successfully installed a custom ROM. my device is redmi note 10 Please help me.....
As per the official website, you need to flash the vendor boot partition file before flashing recovery.. so the method in this video will work but you have to follow some additional steps.. Try to check the official website for a complete guide, once you flash the vendor boot partition file, then steps are similar..
I'm not very sure but I have seen a couple of videos mentioning that fast charging might not work.. there is a specific telegram channel for mi 10t where you can ask any questions you have regarding pixel experience t.me/Mi10TSeriesUpdates
I think the latest mediatek devices support gcam.. you can try it once. Or there are a couple of apps like gcamator and gcamloader on playstore that might be helpful..
Is there any chance that my phone can get hard brick or soft brick during this process if something wrong happens? And if it happens, then what should be the next step?
there is a very slight chance of soft bricking which is very rare, but you will still have access to fastboot / recovery mode so you can either start the process again or flash the default os using MI Flash Tool (if you are using a Xiaomi phone). Hard brick won't happen if you use all the correct files, so make sure you download the exact recovery and the rom file otherwise there will be a major issue and you might need to repair the phone..
So when you type the first command fastboot boot recovery recovery.img it's successful Don't use the second command, take your phone to recovery by pressing and holding the power button + volume up button.

1. If your phone has a snapdragon processor, this method will mostly work but do check the website if anything else is mentioned, sometimes the developers will provide a separate recovery that you need to use (check the device changelog on the pixel experience website)
2. As mentioned in this video, pixel experience recovery might be included with the rom zip file but that's not the case for every device, some devices have a separate recovery and you will find it on the website (so you don't need to extract the pixel experience zip file if there's a separate recovery for your phone)
3. I have tried this method on 3 Xiaomi devices with a snapdragon processor and i had no issues, so please follow the steps carefully.
I followed you every instructions carefully but when i entered (fastboot boot recovery.img ) nothing happend in device but one error in pc booting failed (remote: 'unknown reason' )
Fastboot error command failed.
And not my device stucked in fastboot loop. Please help me sir

😃😃 that's perfect!!
Will this work on Vivo v9, it's running on Android 9

That's great bro! Glad it worked 😊
@@techdocyoutube btw I have a doubt : do I have to repeat the whole process for a software update, or can I do it in my phone itself?
You can do it using your phone only. If the custom rom comes with an updater, you can simply update the rom like you do it on a normal phone. If there's no updater, you need to boot to recovery, clear cache and flash the latest rom zip file, that's it.
@@techdocyoutube thanks!! Btw I got to know that it does come with an OTA updater
That's great then 😊
Hi there I'm a teen whose redmi note 9 pro support has been discontinued so one question do we have to change the recovery on this phone and any other changes while installing using this tutorial?
Yes, if you are starting fresh, you need to unlock the device bootloader, change the recovery and then flash a custom rom.

Pixel experience rom and pixel experience recovery, yes.

Do you have any idea why my device isn't showing up when I type "fastboot devices". I think it might be a driver issue. Please help.
Yeah might be an issue with the drivers.. you can try installing google usb drivers through device manager by following this guide.
First download the zip package using this link - developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb
Then follow the steps using this below link
developer.android.com/studio/run/oem-usb
For Mi 11x, they're showing "deprecated" status instead of "stable" on PE site. What's that? Is it safe to flash that rom?
Or should I look for other ROMs?
Yes it's safe. Right now there are no maintainers so the update has stopped. Mi 11x is a popular phone, it'll most probably come back. You can also look for other roms in the meantime..

Other than that there were no problems, and this video is wayy more well organised which saved my brain from dying, I appreciate it

Can you please tell me how can I get the pixel experience for poco m2 (Shiva) , because in the website they have not mentioned
It's not officially available for your devive as per website, you can try other custom roms like crdroid, pixelos or project elixir..

Excellent tutorial, it worked for me the first time on an RN10P. Thank you very much for your help. In case an update comes out? Should this same process be done or should the new package be downloaded and installed automatically from the phone settings? I would appreciate if you could clarify that doubt. Greetings from Chile!
Hey, glad the video was helpful 😊
If the rom comes with an updater, then you just need to update it like you do it on a normal phone, download the update and the rom is going to update automatically.
Clearing cache won't delete anything, clearing data would format the device 😊

Download the vendor_boot file from the official website - wiki-blobs-dl.pixelexperience.org/wiki_blobs_veux/fourteen/vendor_boot.img
Boot your phone to fastboot mode
Copy the downloaded vendor_boot file inside the extracted platform tools folder
Bring up the command prompt window inside the platform tools folder by entering cmd in the address bar
Flash the vendor boot file using this command
fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img and hit enter
Then you can flash the recovery and follow the next steps mentioned in this video..
@@techdocyoutubeok thank you so much 🙏🏻, should I do what you did from the start of the video until minute 1:49 before flashing the vendor boot?
@@FranzNikoyes, that's right!
@@techdocyoutube Thank you so much bro you're the best! 😁👍 My bootloader going be unlocked in Monday and I hope your method works!
All the best 😊👍
help, when download pixel exp there is no recovery image? should i download recovery image only?
If there's no recovery image, you should check the official website again. There might be a separate recovery file for your phone.
@@techdocyoutube yeah actually got 2 link. One is the one u show and one is recovery image file. Is taht the one?
Yes. That's the one
@@techdocyoutube tq2 will try it later. Tq for the reply
@@lelegagamingx you're welcome!

You should be able to do it on Linux as well..

Hi man isn't this discontinued? So isn't it best to use PixelOS which is the better version of this with more updates?
Heyy.. Yes it would be better to go with pixelos since pixel experience is discontinued..
Is there any way to install the miui camera/miui leica camera on poco m2 pro running pixel experience ?
Not the normal way.. I have never tried it but you need root to flash miui cam. It's better to find a different custom rom that comes with miui cam by default (you can check pixel os but you have to check if it comes with miui cam for your phone) or just use gcam.
Sir, please help. Does this work for Oppo F11 pro CPH1969. Before i try please let me know where exactly i can download the files for compatible with my device. Thanks
Oppo phones do not support custom roms.
@@techdocyoutube what a bummer, even if my device allows OEM unlock bootloader? I can see that option in developer settings?
Yes you will see the OEM unlock option under developer settings, same as vivo devices but they don't allow bootloader unlocking (and there are no custom roms for vivo/oppo phones)
Does the custom rom comes with the additional pixel quirks as uploading unlimited photos in google photos
yes it does.. most pixel based roms come with this feature..
Can you make a short video like this on how to go back to MIUI from Pixel Experience? As I'm planning to install this PE rom on my device but in case if I don't like the user experience then I would need to go back to the stock rom😅
I can do it.. but might not be possible for another week or two. but will surely try to post a short video.
@@techdocyoutube No issues bro, take ur time 🤟
is there an alternative way if my key button is not working? only up and down volume
Which step are you mentioning? You can use different commands and skip the buttons
is there any possibilities ( that in future if Google understand that we are using free unlimited Google photos that was not a genuine wat) to make invalid our uploaded picture in Google photos.
They should already know about it.. And yes they can do anything at anytime..
@@techdocyoutube very bad news.😔
How's the battery life.... because I have installed Pexel 13 on redmi note 7 Pro...I want to install 13 plus version shoul install it or is it just the same ?
I did not get time to test it but if there's android 14 version for your phone, you should get a great battery life..
plus version offers some additional customization options but it's almost the same..
as i am using the pixel experience all the apps work fine like banking and all but, whatapp is not working on the device any solution?
If you can tell me more about the error you are facing, I'll check it out ..
Hello, my device is xiaomi mi mix 2. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img after saying nothing happens, what is the reason?
Did you download both files? Rom zip file and the recovery file?
For mi mix 2, you don't have to extract the rom zip file, just use the recovery that's given on the website..
@@techdocyoutube I've tried everything but it's not working, what am I doing wrong?
Many could not copy the rom in the cmd. You can press shift and right click to copy the path of the pixel experience zip file and flash the rom.
Appreciate the help man 😊👍
I have successfully unlocked the bootloader, and have pushed the recovery.img via fastboot (Tried both the official recovery and from the ROM file), but getting an error when booting to recovery, error message "The system has been destroyed". It is weird that I have tried to install TWRP and it worked. Any advice? Thanks!
i think you might have used an incorrect recovery file, please tell me the device name.
If you are able to take your phone to fastboot mode, try to do that and use the twrp recovery..
@@techdocyoutube Hi, thank you for your response! I'm trying to install it on Redmi Note 8 (ginkgo), I'm following the latest build on PE's website, PE Plus 13 build 11-22-23 for this device. Although, I have managed to successfully flashed the ROM via TWRP instead. I'm just curious why is the official Recovery file did not work.
Thanks!
That's weird actually, it should work with the official recovery provided on the website.
Can you try using the older pe recovery, I mean from 25/09/2023 build .. just check it once if you have not tried it already..
i download pixel experience plus based on my device then when i opened the folder there's no recovery file it's only boot.img no recovery
There will be a separate download link for the recovery on the official website, you don't need to extract pixel experience folder. Please check the pinned comment..
Hey bro i have Huawei p30 pro and huawei p50 pro , where can i find pixel experience for them. Thank you.
Hi bro.. unfortunately pixel experience is not officially supported for Huawei p30 / p50 pro.
You can check the xda page of both these devices to get any updates
P50 pro - xdaforums.com/f/huawei-p50-pro.12417/
P30 pro - xdaforums.com/c/huawei-p30-pro.8791/
hey bro. Whenever I try to install Pixel Experience ROM with the help of TWRP recovery watching another UA-camr's video, I get some errors and a/b partition problem or my phone is also bricked. Is there a possibility of some error with this method? Or is there a chance that the phone may be bricked?
Well I have never successfully installed a custom ROM.
my device is redmi note 10
Please help me.....
As per the official website, you need to flash the vendor boot partition file before flashing recovery.. so the method in this video will work but you have to follow some additional steps..
Try to check the official website for a complete guide, once you flash the vendor boot partition file, then steps are similar..
I have mi 10t i going to apply pixel experience 13 plus does that support 33watt fast charging plz reply❤
I'm not very sure but I have seen a couple of videos mentioning that fast charging might not work.. there is a specific telegram channel for mi 10t where you can ask any questions you have regarding pixel experience
t.me/Mi10TSeriesUpdates
how was the camera working/performance?
is it works like miui camera?
No..you get a basic camera here, you can try gcam if you want a good performance.
@@techdocyoutube gcam supports mediatek processor mobile?( i heard it only supports snapdragon mobile phones)
I think the latest mediatek devices support gcam.. you can try it once.
Or there are a couple of apps like gcamator and gcamloader on playstore that might be helpful..
@@techdocyoutube clearly explained thank you
You're welcome 🙂
Is there any chance that my phone can get hard brick or soft brick during this process if something wrong happens? And if it happens, then what should be the next step?
there is a very slight chance of soft bricking which is very rare, but you will still have access to fastboot / recovery mode so you can either start the process again or flash the default os using MI Flash Tool (if you are using a Xiaomi phone).
Hard brick won't happen if you use all the correct files, so make sure you download the exact recovery and the rom file otherwise there will be a major issue and you might need to repair the phone..
i am facing a problem could you please guide me
C:\Users\Rajeev\adb-fastboot>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Sending 'recovery' (24440 KB) OKAY [ 0.772s]
Writing 'recovery' OKAY [ 0.111s]
Finished. Total time: 0.925s
C:\Users\Rajeev\adb-fastboot>fastboot boot recovery.img
Sending 'boot.img' (24440 KB) OKAY [ 0.770s]
Booting FAILED (remote: 'dtb not found')
fastboot: error: Command failed
So when you type the first command
fastboot boot recovery recovery.img it's successful
Don't use the second command, take your phone to recovery by pressing and holding the power button + volume up button.
Hi bro i am from Bangladesh, can i use pixel experience rom on Samsung m02 if yes please inform me in detail.
Hey bro.. it's not officially available for your phone
yo i have flashed the recovery.img but when i go to recovery mode it only gives me a blackscreen
Are you sure that you downloaded the correct file for your phone??
Did flashing work bro?
Hello bro, my device is vivo z1x can i install this as i didn't find any custom rom for vivo so far.
hi bro.. you cannot flash custom roms on vivo phones, they don't allow bootloader unlocking..
hi this your tutorial it's compatible to poco x4 gt chipset mediatek dimensity?
Pixel experience is not officially available for poco x4 gt, and most phones running on a mediatek processor do not have a great custom rom support.
