I would definitely recommend Thermal Suite Pass for your Mediterranean Cruise. I'm European (we have moved down to French-Polynesia) and I know most of European ports which NCL is going to, as I did several Mediterranean Cruises with them. And often the cities you visit, have cobblestones and/or stone stairs to walk. So, to relax in thermal pool after a city tour is absolutely amazing. Have fun in Europe. I had prebooked Thermal Suite Pass on each cruise with my beloved NCL and never did regret to have it. And for my upcoming 9 day Alaska Cruise (so excited) in October 2024 I've already booked it and because due to my loyalty status I have free specialty dining perks, so to book Thermal Suite Pass was beyond question. Greetings from Moorea (sister island of Tahiti) in French-Polynesia 🌴 🏖 😎 🇵🇫 🇫🇷 🇪🇺
Merci beaucoup et bon voyage dans votre croisière! Those are great reasons to get the Thermal Suite. And that pool is one of our favorite things in the entire world. And we seriously can’t wait for the Mediterranean. Glad you already have yours for October. It made Alaska, so relaxing and rejuvenating. Sounds like you have done lots of cruises if you have that status. Will this be your first one in Alaska?
I’m (Carol) the exact same way! That’s one of the reason we make these videos. Because I’ve watched so many others so I know what to expect and wanted to help others out as well!!!
This was helpful ... so, so, so helpful! I also don't like to be surprised by things like this, so... whew. I already purchased a pass and I'm *thrilled* I decided to do so after watching this. I was really concerned about what the locker room situation might be and the fact that you can get a robe and stuff ... love this entire concept.
Just booked two seven-day passes for my mom and me for our NCL cruise to Canada and Maine in October! Your video helped me realize that it was worth it! We aren't big on specialty dining and the other extras on the cruise, so this is a nice splurge for us.
I'm so glad! You’re going to love the luxurious feeling of being able to go unwind in the Thermal Suite each day. You will have to let us know your favorite parts when you get back!!
My sister and I cruise together always on NCL. We get the spa package and use Mandara to shower every day. We don’t bother with any of that in our room. We use the spa daily and we feel amazing by the end of our trip. I miss the spa room though!
That is awesome! We really love how relaxing it can make your vacation feel. Even if you’re running around in port all day, a couple hours a day in that Thermal Suite still makes it feel like a spa vacation! We wish they still had those spa suites too but thank goodness you can still lock it in with a pass. 😁
Great video! Thanks. I've been looking around for the hours of operation for the Thermal Suite on the Joy. I purchased the pass for the entire cruise and I'd like to somewhat pre-plan my daily visits to the Thermal Suite. Also, thanks for noting that no one should be claiming space in the Suite by piling their personal belongings onto the loungers.
So glad you enjoyed it. They will announce the hours of operation on the first day. It has been our experienced that it’s open most days from about 8 AM to 10 PM. Embarkation day it doesn’t open till four or five. And even once it opens, there will be lots of tours that day to the thermal suite, trying to sell it. But just ignore them and have an amazing time!! And yes, if all of us rule followers, reiterate to the chair hogs, that it’s not acceptable, maybe they will finally catch on. Great tip, if you ask, the staff will remove stuff from chairs not being used. It absolutely drives us crazy. If everyone just used them when they wanted to there would be plenty for everyone all the time. Happy cruising!!😁🚢
I'm so glad I found your video and it just made me even happier that I booked the Thermal Suite for my husband and I and our Alaskan cruise in 12 days! We are also booked for a Mediterranean cruise in the spring and I'm definitely going to book it for that cruise as well. Thanks so much for this video!
@@DeanneDwyer LOVE ❤️ the thermal suite! It made our Alaska cruise feel so luxurious and relaxing! I love the thermal spa too. I used to get swelling in my legs when cruising but spending time in the sauna and steam room eliminates that problem. Going on a cruise in spring and already booked the thermal suite pass.
Well this is clearly an old answer, but I ALWAYS get the Thermal pass. Whether traveling to Bermuda or Port to Port, there’s nothing like carving out a little down time to unwind and relax. I personally do not nap as I feel weird sleeping with strangers, lol but if I have the time I’ll go around into the spa rooms and definitely into the pool. Ill use this time to either read a book or go through my photos and edit. I especially love to go before dinner and take the best rain shower in the locker room and use the vanity to do my hair and make-up while my husband uses our cabin to get ready and we’re not climbing on eachother. 😊
I was so excited to see this. I’ve done this on other cruise lines. We have an Alaska cruise coming and oh can’t wait!!!! We are so getting this!!! You should absolutely get it!
We booked a spa balcony (RIP) on Encore in Alaska and got hooked, toured Glacier Bay in a bathing suit and the spa was surprisingly not crowded. We had the same internal debate as you regarding booking the spa last November on our 10 day Prima Med cruise. We ended up booking for the duration and were so happy we did. It was never busy as most people probably figured they'd be booked solid with all the port days. We still had plenty of time to enjoy the thermal suite and feel like we got our money's worth. My one complaint is the Viva and Prima spa pools don't have views to the outside. What ship will you be on?
We will be on the Escape. We love their thermal suite. Had a pass on our Caribbean cruise last January. It is a bummer about the Viva and Prima. We will be on the Viva next spring. Enjoying the view from the hot stone loungers is one of our favorite things.
Thank you so much for this! I’ve been trying to decide if I want the pass for my upcoming Baltics cruise and you’ve sold me! I don’t like real massages so I think the pool and stone loungers will be the perfect compromise to relax after long days in port. What did you end up doing for your Mediterranean cruise? I say get the pass, if I’m not too late 🤣
Great choice! We ended up not getting the pass. But, we had a long port day every day. There were definitely times we could’ve used it. You’re going to enjoy it SO much. That combo is exactly why we love it too! 🚢🚢
Oh! You were going to have so much fun. I bet you just absolutely can’t wait at this point. You will have to let us know what your favorite part of the thermal spa was when you get back. That Thelasso pool is so amazing!! But boy those hot stone lounges are pretty fantastic too. Have a fantastic time!!!!
When we were on The Encore there were some ladies we spoke to who said seeing the Glaciers from those hot stone loungers was magical. Just thought I’d offer that suggestion. Have an amazing time!!!😀🚢
My husband and I love the Thermal suite and make it a point to book the full week when we cruise. My only suggestion is that they add coffee and pastries ❤. That would make it perfect!
I don’t think there is a set daily rate. The price can fluctuate depending on a variety of factors. We’ve never gotten a day pass ourselves but I’ve seen online they run from $49 and up per person. The thing to note is it’s not guaranteed that they will have day passes available if the spa is at capacity. And they can go very quickly if they are selling the day passes. Hope this is helpful!
HEY LADIES .... LOVED your video!!! I will also be doing the 9day Med cruise in October so I'm glad you brought it up.. Hmmm I love a good Sauna.. Only thing is you never mentioned the price, so I'm off to check it out.. Bon Voyage everybody!!
Thanks!! We didn’t give a price because it differs depending on length of cruise and current rate set by NCL. So, it seemed best not to give prices. It also only becomes available at a certain point before the cruise 🚢 If you don’t see the option yet keep checking back with NCL. We’re so excited for our Med cruise (we leave in 8 days!!!) Which ship are you going on? There are some really great itineraries in the Med.
NCL says they are sold separately. But, I would definitely check in the spa for a special if you’re going to get a massage. There were people in the thermal suite on our last cruise that got it as a perk for getting a massage. Hope this helps!
we used to always purchase a spa balcony cabin I was heart broken when they discontinued that category. fortunately we purchased a spa balcony cabin for an upcoming panama canal cruise on the Bliss and they have honored our thermal suite access for the duration of the cruise. I love the thermal suite the jets in the pool are fantastic I also particularly enjoy the snow room.
Thanks for sharing! So glad they honored your previous purchase. We always get a balcony and then purchase the spa package separate. You’ll still be able to do that moving forward. The Panama Canal is one on our bucket list for sure. You’ll have to let us know how it went.
Please note for your Panama Canal Cruise: Bliss will go through the new locks of canal opened in June 2016. Bliss cannot go through old historic locks - it is simply too big.
@@corefouradventures2861 Jade, Jewel, Pearl, Gem can go through old locks (panamax class). We have been with Norwegian Gem in January 2019 on a full transit through old historic locks. My first cruise was this last December on NCL Gem, loved it so much, but the thermal suite was much smaller, different kind of ship and all so I didn't book it. You will absolutely love it! Our first cruise was on the Escape. The thermal suite on it is so nice. We will be back on the Escape in May in the Mediterranean. We cannot wait! Have an amazing time!! Glad our video was so helpful. 😁
It's booked 😊 16 day cruise and a 14 day pass for $298.00 USD. The day pass price being quoted was $70.00, so yeah, even 3 days out of 16 is worth it. You also get paid priority over people that bought day passes. Your video was just so helpful to see and make me go on and buy the package. 😊 I've got an angry back, and nasty lungs - so pool for the jet pound and steam over sauna for my lungs, and salt for that. Thanks again 😊👍😊
You are going to LOVE it! The jets in the Thelasso pool hit you in just the right spots on your back. It’s our favorite part 😁 You’ll be so glad you did!!
Oh! You’re going to have so much fun. Our cruise is out of Barcelona starting May 26th. Looks like we have a lot of the same ports. You will have to let us know how it all went. 😁
The thermal suite hours vary by ship. On both the Escape and the Encore they were open from 8 AM to 10 PM most days. On embarkation day they didn’t open until 4 or 5 PM. And it was closed on disembarkation day. NCL states they will announce the hours of operation on embarkation day on each ship. But, you can assume it’s going to be open most of the day every day. Hope this helps! And thanks so much!! Have an amazing time!🚢🚢🚢
Good question! There’s a Thermal Suite on every ship but amenities vary by ship. We would recommend researching the ship you’re going to be on before you decide on the package to make sure it has the amenities you are looking for. 😁🚢
@@thevlture Hours vary based on the ship and itinerary. But, usually it’s most of the day. On our Alaskan cruise it was open at 4 pm embarkation day. It was then open from 8 am to 10pm the rest of the cruise. They announced the hours on embarkation day and it’s in the cruise daily. Hope that helps!! 😁🚢
Have fun! We really enjoyed it. Especially on our Alaskan cruise since there were several short port days and a sea day. Still not sure we will get it for our Mediterranean cruise in May, there’s a long port day every day. But, that Thelasso pool is worth the price of admission 😁 You’ll have to let us know if you did it and what you thought.
Thank you so much! NCL’s thermal suite is open from 8am-10pm and you can come and go as you please with a thermal suite pass. There are no time limits although they ask that you only use the heated stone loungers for 30 minutes at a time. It’s not really enforced though. We’ve spent many many hours in the thermal suite. It’s amazing!
@@shelleyburnette5071 It depends on the ship but they will let you know. Usually the hours are pretty long. They were open 8 am-10 pm both times we had the pass.😀 Hope this helps 😀🚢
@@GinaCavazos-v9b The price varies based on popularity, type of cruise, ship, etc. On our Alaskan cruise August 2023 it was $339/person. When it becomes available to purchase it will show on your NCL app. I believe they opened up sales about 90 days before our cruise. 😁🚢
It was definitely busier on sea days and Glacier Bay day. Port days were less crowded. But, we never felt like it was overcrowded. Or like we couldn’t use what we wanted. Chair hogs are real everywhere. But far less common in the Thermal Suite.
Anyone have a list of which ships have hot tub or thermal pool? We were on the Spirit last summer and it does NOT have a hot tub or pool. We were on the Pearl in 2020 and it had both. The Epic in March 2024 also had hot tubs and pools, but this is the ship with the weird bathrooms in the staterooms.
We know the Escape and the Encore both did. If you look here: www.ncl.com/cruise-ship you can see what amenities each ship has and you can even look at the deck plans to confirm. Hope this helps!! Happy cruising😁🚢
@@indranidasatomy5433 There are definitely some variables. How many cruise long passes sold, port day vs. sea day, itinerary, etc. But, most of the time it is a possibility. If you’re ok with or without it I would say give it a try! 😁🚢 If you do, come back and let us know how it went!😁
Yes and no, it depends on how many days you want to use the Thermal Suite. If you only want one day in there it will definitely be cheaper. But, you get a good discount and a guaranteed entry. The day pass is limited by availability and if they sell out of full cruise passes, you can’t get one. Hope that helps! Sorry, it took us a bit to answer. UA-cam doesn’t always notify us of replies. Found your question when doing a sweep for missed replies. 😁🚢
Great question!! Yes, most of the time. They do limit the number of people so if they sell too many cruise long passes they may not have any available. If it’s something you can’t live without, we recommend getting the full cruise pass. That will give you unlimited access for the entire trip. If it would be nice one day, but you could live without it, we would try for the day pass.
I have 4 days until my Alaska cruise and I am spending every minute in the Thermal Spa! QUESTION- if anyone knows.. how big are the robes. I'm a size 22. I certainly don't expect it to be big and cozy, but I am praying I can at least close it! If anyone knows, i would greatly appreciate the information. Please and thank you!
I’m a similar size. It didn’t close completely, but it was very very close. I just didn’t use the tie and still wore it. Open in the front. I did not feel uncomfortable in it at all. Hope this helps! Have an amazing time!! You’ll have to come back and let us know how it went. And what your favorite part of the thermal suite was.
Wonderful! Thank you for the information, that is super helpful. If i can pull myself off the bubble lounger to get onto the hot tile bed, I will have a hard time figuring out which will be my fav! lol
We’d be so happy to! Please Venmo the cruise fare when you get a chance 😜 Just kidding!!! We’d actually love to go back to Alaska soon and also want to try out Holland America, but we have a few more trips in the queue before we can get back there! Thanks so much for watching!
Just signed up for the thermal suite for our 21day panama canal cruise. I am not into hanging by the crowded pool like the outdoors but not baking in the son. Did the Thermal suite on the Jewel and love the fact that the men and woman have separate areas a little apprehensive that this one is coed. And I do have a question Are you allowed to wear the robe back to your room? TIA 8:38
Oh wow! That’s a dream cruise for us. And 21 day access to the thermal suite!! But to answer your question, unfortunately no, they don’t want you to take the robe out of the thermal suite. You might be able to get away with it depending on your ship. But NCL official policy is they must stay there.
You do walk a ton!!! We just got back and walked about 60 miles on vacation. Because we had so many long port days we ended up not getting the pass. But, it would definitely help rejuvenate you for the next day!! 🚢
Glad you enjoyed it. The Epic looks really cool. The Thermal Suite looks so relaxing. Enjoy your cruise!!🚢. You’ll have to let us know if you liked it when you get back. 😁🚢

They do sell Spa cabines girls so it is not true. We booked this for a sailing going in 2025, please update your information and don’t spread falls information
Actually, they have discontinued the category. We confirmed with NCL. Anyone who already booked a spa cabin will still receive it. But as of the beginning of this year, the only way moving forward is to purchase a spa package or a day pass.
The best part is everyone casually passed out, sleeping on the warm beds. Had the best nap of my life!! Loved watching the sea view.

The day pass price being quoted was $70.00, so yeah, even 3 days out of 16 is worth it. You also get paid priority over people that bought day passes. Your video was just so helpful to see and make me go on and buy the package. 😊
I've got an angry back, and nasty lungs - so pool for the jet pound and steam over sauna for my lungs, and salt for that.

What hours is the Thermal suite open. Love your informative videos❤
Have an amazing time!🚢🚢🚢
Is this on all ships?
Good question! There’s a Thermal Suite on every ship but amenities vary by ship. We would recommend researching the ship you’re going to be on before you decide on the package to make sure it has the amenities you are looking for. 😁🚢
What are the hours?
@@thevlture Hours vary based on the ship and itinerary. But, usually it’s most of the day. On our Alaskan cruise it was open at 4 pm embarkation day. It was then open from 8 am to 10pm the rest of the cruise. They announced the hours on embarkation day and it’s in the cruise daily. Hope that helps!! 😁🚢
Great video. I’m going on Encore in join and considering it.
@@corefouradventures2861 what did it cost for the week?
It was $339/person when we booked it. But, of course, prices are always subject to change 😁🚢 Hope that helps!
Are there time limits for being the this area? Can you come and go as you please?
This is a great video
Thank you so much! NCL’s thermal suite is open from 8am-10pm and you can come and go as you please with a thermal suite pass. There are no time limits although they ask that you only use the heated stone loungers for 30 minutes at a time. It’s not really enforced though. We’ve spent many many hours in the thermal suite. It’s amazing!
@@corefouradventures2861 thank you
How late is the thermal spa open
@@shelleyburnette5071 It depends on the ship but they will let you know. Usually the hours are pretty long. They were open 8 am-10 pm both times we had the pass.😀 Hope this helps 😀🚢
What is the price for the 7 day pass?
@@GinaCavazos-v9b The price varies based on popularity, type of cruise, ship, etc. On our Alaskan cruise August 2023 it was $339/person. When it becomes available to purchase it will show on your NCL app. I believe they opened up sales about 90 days before our cruise. 😁🚢
thanks for the info
Glad it was helpful!! 😁🚢
Was it crowded
How challenging is it to get a one day pass in September?
@@indranidasatomy5433 There are definitely some variables. How many cruise long passes sold, port day vs. sea day, itinerary, etc. But, most of the time it is a possibility. If you’re ok with or without it I would say give it a try! 😁🚢 If you do, come back and let us know how it went!😁
@@corefouradventures2861 will do
@@corefouradventures2861 is the day pass more pricy than the 7 day pass?
Yes and no, it depends on how many days you want to use the Thermal Suite. If you only want one day in there it will definitely be cheaper. But, you get a good discount and a guaranteed entry. The day pass is limited by availability and if they sell out of full cruise passes, you can’t get one. Hope that helps! Sorry, it took us a bit to answer. UA-cam doesn’t always notify us of replies. Found your question when doing a sweep for missed replies. 😁🚢
Can you buy a day pass ?
Great question!! Yes, most of the time. They do limit the number of people so if they sell too many cruise long passes they may not have any available. If it’s something you can’t live without, we recommend getting the full cruise pass. That will give you unlimited access for the entire trip. If it would be nice one day, but you could live without it, we would try for the day pass.
@@corefouradventures2861 thank you 👍🏻. There are some days I don’t want to get off the ship to go into ports. I’ll check out the prices many thanks
Port days are much easier to get a day pass on. You’ll have to let us know if you got to do it and what you thought.
If i can pull myself off the bubble lounger to get onto the hot tile bed, I will have a hard time figuring out which will be my fav! lol
The jets on the sides of the Thelasso pool that massage your lower back and calves is a must try!! I spent so much time there!
Love your channel! If you could go to Alaska on the Holland America Noordam before May 2026 I'd really love it lol lol lol kidding
We’d be so happy to! Please Venmo the cruise fare when you get a chance 😜 Just kidding!!! We’d actually love to go back to Alaska soon and also want to try out Holland America, but we have a few more trips in the queue before we can get back there! Thanks so much for watching!
@@corefouradventures2861 love your videos
@@UberManTampa Thanks!!! We’re so glad you found us ! 😁😁
Will do.
Which ship was this?
We had Thermal Suite package on both the Escape and Encore. Most of our footage is from the Encore.
Get it!
We are definitely tempted. But our next cruise has no sea days at all. You’ll have to come back and see if we got it 😁 Thanks!!
In Europe you walk a lot. I recommend it.
You do walk a ton!!! We just got back and walked about 60 miles on vacation. Because we had so many long port days we ended up not getting the pass. But, it would definitely help rejuvenate you for the next day!! 🚢
Thanks we will be on the epic
Glad you enjoyed it. The Epic looks really cool. The Thermal Suite looks so relaxing. Enjoy your cruise!!🚢. You’ll have to let us know if you liked it when you get back. 😁🚢
I really did like it, but we did not use it nearly enough to make it worth the price.. The Mrs never even stepped foot inside it..
That is totally our worry on our upcoming Mediterranean cruise 🚢 There’s a port day every day. We used it SO much on Alaska though. We definitely got our money worth there.
