Having read books of Mr Mckeown and applying his recommendations I had tremendous benefits yet on the short term: - 30 years of inflammation, stuffy nose, sinusitis gone in a week - lowered blood pressure by 20 -way more energy, calmness, focus, much better sleep But also: much better performance in the gym: applying slow controlled nasal breathing during and between the sets I could instantly make about 4 more reps on most of the excercises, needed much less time between sets and between sessions for recovery, could sustain effort for longer time during training. Mind blowing.
I have done this method of breathing when I would train. Yes I used anabolic use bulked up to 310 with good shape nothing mind blowing. But was was the control I had whwn training. I could jog, train for hours on end never out of breath sleep great and my red blood cells have never been as high as before. It works. I now only breathe through my nose.
I'm 45 years into fitness activities and I can't believe I've had overseen the power of breathing. I saw the first time Mr McKeown at a pod from Ben. Now I have two books from Mr McKeown and I'm learning more about breathing every day. Greetings, Meikl from germany. And 👍 😊
Danke Meikl, glad you're enjoying the podcast. And yes, the information on breathing is only getting out there, but Patrick mcKeown is doing a phenomenal job leading the conversation to finally make this common knowledge!
The oxygen advantage and in German Erfolgsfaktor Sauerstoff. Angst, Stress und Panik wegatmen. Asthma einfach wegatmen. I don't have asthma, but every book has another info. As every vid with him. Then you search McKeown you find many vids on UA-cam. I see the books as backinfo and.. well donut him for his effort.
After listening im really into this i was thinking of going to the web page. but thought to ask, do you have any way of starting to learn or get the infomation because it can be overwellmig that much information?
abdomen reference in breathing mechanics - bad! McKeown does not dig enough into muscle engagement in breathing. The muscle awareness could be thrown off in a persona and counting, calming inhale-exhales won't fix that.
