    David , you did an excellent job with this, and that was some beautiful playing as well. I’m actually going to go down to the store today and get one of these because of your review.

      Thank you. Play it first. Different ones have different nut widths and be a little tricky to play. Great guitar. Thanks for watching.

      @@davidmurphey9514 I played it and was blown away. It has a very light scratch on the finish, and they knocked $200 off (I could barely see it). Mine has a black finish, and I love it. Thanks again!

    This was a very nice review..well done, told from the heart...and more informative than many reviews, where the reviewer is trying to show off his talents rather than featuring the guitar, I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on one based on your review...I want a slim neck and my Taylor academy, while a good guitar is a little bit harder to play than I am used to, coming from an electric guitar background.

      Thank you. It may or may not require a setup. But probably not more than a truss rod adjustment. It is very easy to play. It has a beautiful tone that recordings here just can't replicate. Thank you for your kind words. Have a great day

    I'm Dave too!.I owned one of these & the Roland guitar synth.The Godin is a dream,What David says is all true all of it.I agree the selector slider does take a few days to master.Otherwise this is poss. The greatest nylon you will ever own.

    Mr. Murphey, I received an ACS SA Slim today, and I have a question about the sound of the bass strings. They have a lot of bright overtones that are similar to the twang one gets from the wound strings when a steel-string guitar has new strings installed. However, the piezo pickups seem to emphasize these overtones to the point of sounding harsh. Do these string mellow after some playing, the way wound strings do on a steel-string? The three unwound strings sound very warm and sweet, and I hope that the wound strings will start to sound the same way. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    • @davidmurphey9514
      @davidmurphey9514  3 роки тому +2

      Yes they will start to dull. However, I never ran the Eq flat. With new strings I always found them all to bright. I pulled back the treble and the mids. The guitar is very hot and alive sounding for certain. It requires a lighter touch as well. Pull back the mids and treble add only a touch of bass. Same goes for whatever amplification your using. Decrease any reverb. There is a sweet spot. It takes some experimenting. If all else fails change brands of strings. Personally I hate having to tie strings. I use Daddario folk nylon 80/20 bronze clear nylon ball end strings. Congratulations on your guitar. I hope this helps. Don't hesitate to hit me up if you need me again. Have a great day and thanks for watching

    can you use an electric guitar amp with this guitar or do you need an acoustic guitar amp?

    • @davidmurphey9514
      @davidmurphey9514  2 роки тому +1

      You can use any kind of amp you want. However, personally I like it better through an acoustic amp or directly into the pa. A regular guitar amp will work. You'll just have to mess with a lot of eq settings to get a sound you like. Thanks for the question and for watching.

    How well do these stay in tune?

    • @davidmurphey9514
      @davidmurphey9514  3 роки тому +1

      About the same as a classical. Depending on how often you play actually. The strings finally start to settle in after about 3 to 4 days. After which you should be able to stay in tune for a long period of time. Once the strings have stretched you shouldn't have any problem.

    My action is terrible

    • @davidmurphey9514
      @davidmurphey9514  3 роки тому

      Mine was also. However, a simple truss rod adjustment made all the difference in just minutes. The action on mine was way to low. If you feel confident in making those adjustments yourself that will probably fix the problem in most cases. I recommend taking it to a reputable guitar tech in your are and having it setup. Sadly not all manufacturers do a very good job at setting up their own guitars.
