what would be an example of something they need? like shoes? but would that be considered a clothing item? such a dilemma.
I have always subconsciously done this for my kids. I don't believe in buying a whole lot of junk.

I love the Montessori approach to toys and learning ❤️ I’ve done the same with my daughter and I’ll be homeschooling her and her baby sister with this method as well! I actually prefer the clean and organized look of the toy set up in her room! It’s a lovely aesthetic. And it’s much easier to keep it organized. Can’t wait to see what you end up getting and doing!!

Love the idea of the Montessori approach for Christmas gifts. Ziya is already so smart, this is going to teach her a lot about life skills and responsibilities and create habits for her such as taking care of babies, cooking and cleaning and she’ll see these things as being fun. Great parenting!! 🥰

I take care of children (a nanny) and one of the little girl’s i watch has that exact same ice cream set. The cones and the ice cream itself have magnets inside of them to keep it connected together. Also the scoop actually connects and picks up the ice cream as well. Ziya will love it. Plus the little ice cream box helps keep from losing all of the pieces.

This is exactly how I shop for my oldest. She is 2 1/2 so she is doing a lot of pretend play, particularly the kitchen area. Her bedroom has "centers" like you see in a daycare since I used to be a preschool teacher. I can't wait til her and my 3 month old daughter start playing in the space together.

I'm also a only child mother (girl) and it's hard not to spoil them but my rule for bday and xmas gifts is never buy anything twice the same and she has to donate or throw away toys to get new ones so got example if she want 5 new toys she has to give up 5 old toys...my daughter is seven I'd say around about 4yrs is when i started applying this system because it does get out hand sometimes and make you think of all the kids who aren't as lucky and just wanna keep them humble because not everyone has...plus the family gifts too😂😂😂
