Nice work. Glad to see a fellow Minnesotan getting after it 👍. I like your plot setups.

2 things. If you look at the FB marketplace, you can find a fillable/drainable lawn roller, to pull behind your atv or even use it by hand walking it. And I've never heard of using ash as a "lime". Great idea, it seems like. Plus its free. Im in central wisconsin and gonna be doing a couple of brand new plots on a fellow veterans' property along with some hinge cutting this year. Great video. Simple and you explained your process very well. Ill be watching you more.

Excellent video..I've heard ,that if you mow ,wait a week to get everything regrowing again, then spray it ,the plants absorb the roundup better ,or mix a little bit of liquid nitrogen in spray mix ,which fools thecplants into absorbing the roundup quicker

Nice job! You hit it on the head with seeding brassicas! I’d venture to say 85 percent of people over seed their brassicas.not sure of your hand seeder but using an Earthway hand spreader set it on 1 ish the lowest setting. John at Northwoods Whitetails seed told me you just want to be able to feel the seed gently tick your fingers on your left hand. Seems to take forever to put on the 3lb bag but worth the time to get it seeded properly.
I also don’t have a cultipacker but what has worked great for me is to take the otter sled and put some cinder blocks in it to get good seed to soil contact without packing the seed too deep.
Love the idea of saving ashes from the wood stove and going to start saving them. Thanks for the tip!

Just started following you great videos. Great step by step. I have a clover plot and in Floodwood MN some years seems like the weeds get too thick and I end up scrapping it and put in a fall plot with brassicas.

    Hello enjoyed the video!
What strength fertilizer did you use?

19-19-19 when I plant. About a month later I hit it with 46-0-0, (urea).

Good job! Do you have any pics from the fall or any update on how they turned out?

Sorry I had a follow up video but I was cleaning up my account after hurting season and I accidentally deleted it. I looked back and I don’t have any of the original footage saved either. All of the plots turned out really good this year as the weather was just about perfect in northern Minnesota for heat and moisture.

What are you spraying it with?
