Excellent - thanks for pacing this nice and slow, and with clear diction (also nice to hear an Irish accent!). Many tutorials become hard to use when you have to pause, rewind and try to hear what the guy (always a guy) is actually saying. After using Sketchup for years, it takes a while to get the hang of Blender. Thanks again and keep 'm coming.
I've been searching numerous tutorials and glad I've landed on your channel. Clear English spoken Clear, Concise and detailed instructions in a step by step format. Keep up the good work, subscribed. Thank you, Cheers,
I've been doing blender tutorials for weeks now, and officially declare this guy the best I've seen. He's fast, but you can always pause and find out which keystrokes he just used. Some of the other tutorials make that impossible, and seem to assume you ought to know the normal stuff. And they don't cram as much stuff useful to beginners is such a short time.
@@cycla I always do donuts if they're free. Yes, I must admit he's good. And also the guy who looks so much like him, it's hard to tell them apart. I was starting to worry there's some genetic component to being good at this. I have the black hair, but not the british soccer hooligan grin.
The actions performed at around 20:00-20:40 with snapping the stairs to the wall can be done much easier: Just with the edges selected, press S X 0, to align in x-axis, then press G X and align to wall. Very nice presentation, otherwise. I enjoyed this! :)
Would you mind redoing this tutorial? there's an option when making inside walls for baseboards. but by default auto holes does not cut through the base board. if there's a way to do that, its honestly vital to making a room the way you want
Saved and subscribed. I was going along pretty well until it was time to use the 3D cursor and rotate the upper edge of the wall. When I clicked the period key, all it did was zoom in; no 3D cursor. Is that because I am using 2.83 and not 2.9?
Not sure you can. If you use the link data command the object updates but its properties remain unchanged. Any further changes reverts to original state.
When I add a window (or a door, but changing the model fixed it with the door) the window frame and the CTRL_Hole do not align - the later is totally crooked off to one side in a strange rotation. Took me forever to fix that manually. Does anyone know why that would happen and what to do about it? It may be connected to another problem I have with adding objects, they are always added at some strange rotation. No idea why...
Hey Cara, one reason is the "Align to" Setting in the editing tab in preferences. When this is set to "View" Archimesh objects can get added mis-aligned. The default is world.
Yes there are a couple of ways. Remove the existing material and add a new one and change the color on the new material. Another way is to modify the existing material
@@BlenderZen oh ok , it explains why they removed the github link if it has been integrated into blender 2.9, i usually use 2.79 that's why , thank you mate
Blender Guru just did the abandoned house tutorial. Archimesh lost me. This is a great help. Thanks.

I guess you haven't seen the donut guy?

This is the 2nd how-to vid I've seen today (luckily) with vocalized steps along with the action and great pace.
Really great tutorial, actually goes in depth and explains what things do instead of just showing the quick how to
Superbly done. While learning the Archimesh tool that drew me here originally, I also picked up some general shortcuts for Blender modeling. :)

Very nice tutorial, thank you so much! I feel like I learned a lot about the addon and also a few nice ways how to handle things in Blender. Awesome!
Wow. I am joining the course. Thanks for explaining in so detail.
Tanks for a great tutorial! Me late Dah was a Kerryman, and I so miss his accent :)
2 minutes into the vide.... SUBSCRIBED AND ALARM ON!!!! FORGET ABOUT ALL THE OTHER TUTORIALS
Thank you for such an excellent tutorial. I'm just wondering why I've missed it all this time.
great introductory video to the addon. helped me tremendously. thanks, man :)
Which do you use more, Archimesh or Archipack?
Very comprehensive and helpful tutorial, thank you so much. Just one notice, the props were far, so I couldn't see the changes made...
Would you mind redoing this tutorial? there's an option when making inside walls for baseboards. but by default auto holes does not cut through the base board. if there's a way to do that, its honestly vital to making a room the way you want
This is a great walkthrough and super helpful! Thank you!!
Excellent tutorial, Thank you very much
GREAT Tutorial!
Very well explained
What are the pros and cons of this vs. Archipack? It seems just as powerful (if not more) while also being free!
I definitely need to know. I was about to pay for archipack. Can you get back to me with the pros and cons if youve found out what they are
archipack is entirely parametric - all objects can be edited afterwards (e.g. changing dimensions, angles, etc).
I forget how powerful this add on is
Idk why but I do not see auto holes option when I click on the wall. How to fix it?
When i export models to unreal engine 5, i'm not able to see the archimesh doors. Does someone know the solution?
Tom, hi, I am using Mac and somehow it isn't appearing on the add ons search. Do you have any tips in how to add it there?
same problem

Hey Louise maybe a setting but you can change to the 3D cursor pivot from the pivot menu on the top of the screen. Next to "Global"
Wouldn't it have been faster to scale the ends of the steps to 0 on the X axis THEN move them back all at once?
i have a problem, the doors always enter giant, and with x ray lines
Hi, how do I call up the menu at the bottom left when inserting a column?
press f9
I dont have the create tab in blender 4 :( do you knwo what could be the case?
Have you enabled the add-on in preferences?
i restarted all good a:) thanks
@@BlenderZen
can I remove that ugly, reflection from the windows?, I want the windows to be black
thanks, how to draw a house with more than one room?
How do you set properties for multiple (already existing) windows/doors at once?
Not sure you can. If you use the link data command the object updates but its properties remain unchanged. Any further changes reverts to original state.
Great detailed tutorial

Hi Tried adding this add on to Blender 3.1 and I do not see it on the ADD Mesh Menu what can be missing
Hey Thomas just checked on my 3.1 version and its in the add menu in the mesh sub menu
@@BlenderZen Hi how do I enable that in 3.1? it is not there
I got it working now had to reinstall blender and choose Repair and it put the files back Thanks
@@thomasgrassi8817 That's great glad you got that issue solved. Useful add-on once working correctly
Very impressive
Can the 3D model be exported?
Hey, yes the model can be exported as FBX, OBJ and other formats.
@BlenderZen thank you for the information bro
HOW TO TEXTURE ARCHIMESH OBJECTS
How do I change the color of the roof from red to gray?
In the material tab the colour is available to adjust. There is also a viewport colour applied and that also in the material tab at the bottom.
Is there anyway to change the walls color ??
Yes there are a couple of ways. Remove the existing material and add a new one and change the color on the new material. Another way is to modify the existing material
3:30 I don't have as many options as you do there, also I don't have the ability to place columns...
Can you add colums into the scene?
@@BlenderZen came back to this tutorial, turns out it had bugs and it works better in 3.0 version
this is great!
what's the period key ? HOW i can find it please ?
Its the full stop key
11:11 just a sticky note
video starts at 3:00
great
How the f*ck do I download Archimesh ? I can't find it anywhere !
You'll find it in the user preferences settings in Blender. It's an add-on that just needs to be enabled
