Ancient Cities is the one where your tribe's knowledge is stored in the people, so someone who has fished enough to unlock crafting harpoons allows your tribe to make those until that person dies. Now, in that game it currently will rotate out skilled elders to allow others to practice those skills since the job assignment system is completely different from the Rimworld style.
But, if you stop doing something like fishing then overtime you won't be training new people to maintain these skills.

I really like that game. The first time I played it, a lot of UI was still in Chinese ^^ but still it is well balanced. a lot of things to do in the demo version already. I am awaiting the full release!!

Why did they rip the UI straight from rimworld. It's one of the most outdated things about it.

Dont buy this game. The devs are a bunch of self-entitled idiots and respond to people with nasty answers.

    Yay, another Rimworld ripoff.

I don't particularly like how the game wants to draw interest to itself and get support and expect people to pay for it, and it doesn't have a demo. I am not paying for a demo for any game. So this "early access" stuff can go away now.
This isn't a shot at you in any way, Nook. You are doing a great job getting some attention to indie devs for some interesting games in the genres you care about. I just get disappointed when you feature one that looks appealing to me, I go to check it out, and there is no demo.

Demos are an exception to the norm these days, I'm afraid--I'm surprised they had a return to popularity in the first place, they aren't profitable for obvious reasons. I say this as a matter of reality, not taste--I miss the days of being able to try before I buy too.

How do I know if this player experienced any crashes or bugs? If you expect people to pay for your early access version, having a sample of a playable demo might entice them more, rather than having them have no idea what they are getting.

@@xionkuriyama5697 Well, they aren't profitable if you have a terrible game. If you have a good game, be confident that your demo will put your best foot forward and entice people to buy your game. What I won't do, is give a company money for an "early access" game (read: beta test/demo) when I have no idea of what to expect. If you want my money, I need to know what I am getting.

I do like how Nook plays these early access games, it lets us see how much progress has been made. Some EA games stay in EA for a LONG time, even after the point the game could have been called finished. Some are playable and the dev is flexible with where the game will end up going, so an EA allows for the community to help drive the development. I don't think there is a perfect system for it but with EA we can always just wait, put it on the wishlist or something and keep tabs on the development. People who do opt into the EA can also be a great source of info to how it is progressing.

@@PerfectDeath4 Influencers are given free keys to promote a game. They have a vested interest in displaying the game in a positive light. Restricting the access to only these people allows them to get the views, and allows the game to be shown in the way that creator wants.
I want to get my own hands on something and judge it for myself.
There have been way too many ripoffs in on these platforms from indie developers so there's no way they are getting my money up front for something promised later. If you want play testers, fine, but I am not paying to playtest your game for you.
