This song is an emotional rollercoaster. That chorus has that iconic genuine Japanese sentimental and urgent desperate sound
funy
Trueee
The red scene where he gets shot in the back is so brutal and visceral and done in such an amazing way. It truly made my heart hurt for him. That and the scene where someone is running from the shots. The acting is incredible. Thank you PD for making the story more obvious bc I definitely wouldn’t have gotten it otherwise.
I FUCOKIG KNOW ROGHTGTJHKNDFC
I really wish we could have gotten a behind the scene for that part:(
@@crystaIz me too! I was interested to see how they did it
I believe Nicholas was also the one who was running while getting “shot” at.
“They are following in the footsteps of giants” you ALWAYS SAY IT BEST
one of the reasons why we love PD😌
I don’t quite know how to put it into words, but &team just has this incredible quality to them. They just light up a spark in me that no group has managed to do ever since I got into seventeen. They have that it factor in the same way svt does- their choreography and discography and videos draw out such real and raw emotions that you can’t help but be captivated by them. They put in the WORK for this comeback and it truly shows. I think the biggest thing for me is their brotherhood- their concept might help with this too, but I feel like you can really sense the bond/trust they have in each other through their teamwork, and it reads as incredibly genuine and earnest in all their content so far. So excited for their future.
Also I think you’re spot on with the video analysis as always! As a fellow carat, it makes me so happy to see you just as hyped about &team as I am! They’re truly so special.
Agree with every word, Seventeen are my ults and &team is the only group that can even come close. They have a Seventeen work ethic and it shows. Not that other groups don't work hard, but these guys work full and completely together, and it's truly the greatest thing to watch.
They really are like a pack of wolves 😭 Watching their variety content, you can really feel they have a really genuine bond towards each other and that also helps make their performances really powerful.
Nicholas’ acting is incredible
Omg the fact that you knew K worked on the choreo! He actually is credited in the choreo and his part is the chorus with the jump!! He is amazing!
I honestly believe they are the next big thing. For me it was love at first sight.
haha same they're my first ever male ult group, and when I saw firework on studio choom I KNEW they were the one
I'm telling you - this group are SPECIAL
So your theory is the same as mine. On the surface it just looks like a group of friends who all have a crush on the one girl friend BUT there is totally more to it. I also feel like she's hunting them and they are heartbroken that they are losing a friend and are now probably enemies. And to me, losing a friendship can be even more heartbreaking than your partner.
i am a stan of &team and after watching this MV, i thought i could look into their webtoon for more context (since the post credit scene is a direct webtoon reference). and i was left more confused lmaooo
Firework really is the perfect first comeback. It surpasses our expectations but does not diminish the debut. It sets a good direction for &Team and I can see that their future comebacks will still surprise us. Like what PD talks about - 32:40, it's like Seventeen's discography, every song is amazing and different but has a consistent unique feeling/emotion/vibe. Also, as someone who likes Jpop before Kpop, I love the ways they combine elements of both - this song really makes me feel sentimental, props to the production team.
I listened exclusively to jpop before getting into kpop and I completely agree with what you've said about &team's music combining elements of both kpop and jpop!!! Imo they've adopted the sentimentality and melodical aspects of jpop while integrating the catchy but complex instrumental production from kpop... it's somehow familiar yet very refreshing and as someone who loves kpop and jpop &team's sound has appealed to me from the very beginning 🥰
DAMN are they going to make this a thing? Making me cry every time that they release something? 😭😭😭 I already love them so much
i have so much to say about this comeback but i’ll try to keep it short. &team is hands down for me the best group that has ever come into my life. having stanned k since iland, under the skin was the best debut i could have ever ask for and to this day i’m still in awe at how good of a debut it was. but firework? man firework is different. it absolutely completely blew me away!! the first time i listened to it i was sobbing like a crazy person. it is just simply the best first comeback i have ever seen from a boy group. the song is absolutely incredible, the choreography is fucking breathtaking, and the mv, holy fuck!! the story telling the color grading the acting they have literally left me speechless!!! i am so so glad that you appreciate them as much i do pd. it brings me immense joy hearing you talking about them in exactly the way that i feel. theyre just so so special. truly one of a kind. im so proud of every single one of them this comeback is mind blowing, they’ve come so far just 6 months into their careers i cannot even imagine what they’ll be like in the future! truly thank you for the reaction and support for the teamies they deserve so much
and im so looking forward to the rest of the &audition reactions next month!!^_^ the dance practice and studio choom for firework are also out if you’d like to check them out!! and they’ll be promoting in korea this time so look forward to the live stages!!! im so excited
A bit exaggerated huh, how old are you kid?
I feel all of this too! It's exactly how watching &team makes me feel.
Gosh, Firework really made me appreciate &team so much. Under the Skin was undoubtedly phenomenal, but Firework was really a game changer for me. &team is a group done so well. They're just so whole and perfect, I can't believe that they just debuted some time ago. The music video quite literally made me sob. Their acting is just so fucking good, when Nicho got shot (with a firework) I think I audibly gasped. Such a good group, can't wait for more amazing work from them
i randomly watched their idol athletic competition show appearance (that baekho hosts) bc utube’s algorithm rec’d it and i enjoyed the svt and ateez eps, knowing nothing about &team, and really enjoyed the snippets of this song they used as bgm so decided to give it a listen and EASILY, *EASILY*, it is my co-soty (alongside cix’s save me, kill me lmfao). so ridiculously catchy and addictive and infectious, i love it so fucking much and have voraciously watched whatever random videos of them i find on utube 😭
This is the best boy group song released this year and in a long time!
I'm not done the video so idk if anyone explained during PD's livestream, but I'm going to give some context regardless. I believe this music video isn't displayed in chronological order but rather a mash-up of multiple events happening. This MV is based in the Enhypen 'Blood Altar' timeline and the girl is the vampire princess Sooha, who appears in the Enhypen webtoon. I believe the reoccurring theme of this video is going to be about betrayal to the wolves. The final scene is from the webtoon directly, where K's character ("Khan") is essentially "falling in love" with the Y/N character (Sooha) because of some kinda fate/magic due to him being a lycanthropy. In the scene of Maki floating, she pulls out the flower petals in the "loves me, loves me not" way. Meaning perhaps she didn't care about the wolves at all and their friendship turns to foe. As PD mentioned, she's quite literally hunting them down. So I think this MV might be a metaphor for essentially mourning over lost love/friendship and that they couldn't hold in their emotions anymore. A slight double meaning.
A lot of people mentioned how the fighting in the mud scenes also seemed very puppet-master as she's looking down on them performing and fighting one another. Perhaps she might actually be a force of evil?
I liked the song when I saw their Firework performance last weekend at Weverse Con, but it wasn’t until I saw I the MV again on the livestream with PD that I felt pretty emotional about it. Their acting really shines here. I looove the part where they’re dancing for the girl on the wall.
Side note: &Team also performed their B-sides Road Not Taken and WOLF that day too and they have great choreography as well. I’m impressed at how many songs with choreo they have. Unfortunately the official performances haven’t been posted yet, but I hope everyone can watch them when they’re out!
the end comments are so true! i can feel like &team members are really serious about music and always put their heart to their work. they also have genuine bond towards their members that i feel like im watching “people friends since childhood” when there are contents. im really looking forward to their growth both musically and as a group❤
I love their music so much, it hurts 😭
I am so satisfied with this comeback, it couldn't be any better!❤ And thank you pd for talking about &Team!!!
the second i watched this comeback i KNEW you would absolutely love it
This song is a masterpiece in every aspect imo. I agree with your point of this sounding like the most HYBE song ever made. When I first watched this MV, I immeadiately thought "This could be a TXT song". The comparison to Thursday's Child was pretty spot on. Great video PD!
Hybe Japan has a separate music production team.
@@nicoleloss7987 I imagine so, but still has the Hybe sound to it.
That's synth is so good in this song. I love maki's high note before the last chorus. It's my faviroute bit. No one can beat BTS imo but I can already see, &TEAM are gonna be HUGE in a year or two.
they're so underrated😭
idk why nobody is talking about that good ass BRIDGE like MOTHER OF GOD that is how you make a breakdown if i've ever seen one both musically and in terms of the performance (Jo being lifted by their feet is INSANE and hits everytime) they really went all out and aren't getting nearly as much recognition as they should
It's one of my favorite comebacks of 2023
Me too 😍😍😍
I love all of the songs they've released. Under the Skin and Firework both have that heavy and wholesome feel to it that makes it tug on your heartstrings. I also love how they sing their parts. Something about how they sang it sounds so emotional.
I don't stan them but I know all the members and GOD this song is amazing, so addictive!!! I love this style and the chorus melody is just.. chef's kiss
As a Luné (&TEAM fan), I really appreciate your reactions to them. They truly do have so much potential and I cannot wait for them to be seen all over the world ❤
In the red scene it’s Nicholas that gets shot!
I have listened to this song countless of times and it's refreshing every time. PD, you gotta watch the Official Performance MV for this! It's the most beautiful thing ever!
&team are currently my favourite group. They are honestly so special, I'm so happy that you love them too, and their mv:s and choreos are what fully draws me in.
The fact that you rate &team so high to say this at 32:40 is incredible!!!
I knew PD gonna lose their mind over this. The song sounds so good BUT THE CHOREO AND MV ARE SO BEAUTIFULLY DONE IT ADDS SO MUCH. The desperation are so evident and I LOVE IT. To me, &Team really is the perfect mash up of everything's good from other Hybe group. And as someone who ult Seventeen since 2016, I agree that they're giving SVT vibes. All 9 of them works SO HARD every perf, vocal skills are constantly improving SHOUT OUT TO MY BOYS MAKI, FUMA AND YUMA and I'm so excited to see their growth. I'm sure Firework successfully attract more fans this cb ❤️
This song convinced me to listen to more &team and there is something I want to say as a non-fan/outsider that really resonated with me with this song: the correlation between &team in reality vs in their fictional universe - that painfully human desperation.
Debuting after a successful group like Enhypen, with a few members from iland who must have felt that same desperation when they weren't chosen in the final lineup. Interestingly, the part you mentioned about them dancing like it was their final comeback must feel like their last chance to get that golden ticket to stand on stage from &AUDITION too.
And yeah, the musical overlap bc the producers are shared b/w TXT and Enha means the similarities are obvious, but the identity is entirely &team's own.
Idk maybe I'm reading into it too much but it just hit me that this is probably why I was so drawn to this song.
i have been with pd on his journey with &team & im really amazed how we share alot of the same love for music, like our genres are really matched in some ways like i love &team & xikers debut with such a unique fondness,, their music is just freaking amazing
Yes I agree with what you mean with &Team, they always dance like it's their last time and that goes straight to the heart. Glad they're getting some great songs to show that
So happy &TEAM is now getting noticed! Loved them since &Audition. THEY ARE THE FUTURE. Aside from BTS, they’re the only group that gives me goosebumps. 🎉🎉🎉
I absolutely love this comeback, it made me cry on the 1st watch. As you said its the perfect follow up from under the skin. And the MV is a piece of art i love it so so much
&Team's songs will get better with time, I'm feeling it
your smile when the MV started made me melting
SOMEONE REQUEST THE MV TEASER ON THE BONUS DROP!! seeing how much he likes the acting and filming of this ohmygod
yea, same PD. these boys got me too. under the skin got me interested. fireworks sealed a lune in me. i'm wishing just the best for these amazing guys. especially, my favs K and harua
this song is INSANELY good 😭😭
This song makes me feel full in every aspect possible. AND ALSO WHY NO ONE TALK ABOUT THE SYNTH INSTRUMNETAL?
I FREAKIN LOVE THEM FOR THAT
&TEAMのリアクション嬉しい!!!FIREWORKは神曲!!!😭Korean ver.のPerformance MVも最高!♡
Oh PD, their comeback album is amazing. I hope you can listen to it. B-sides are really elavate the title. Also they're promoting on K-music shows this cb, their stages are amazing. We can check them on bonus drops? or separate long video? MV behind the scenes, MV teasers, studio choom performance etc. They are all GOLDEN stuff. Maki and Nicholas really shined through this cb.
its honestly another masterpiece
I've waiting for this reaction since the MV came out. PD has top notch taste in music
I agree I actually felt the emotions they are showing us and I might be reaching here but I think it's because of the experience of them getting eliminated in the audition and I feel since they got another chance it gave them the perspective of I'm not letting go of this chance they got I know I would if I were them 😅
Im obsessed with this song since its release!! And the mv is art. Im not a luné (yet ehehe) but i got interested in them after watching the concept clips and teasers, they were so good too. This comeback was amazing!
I can feel the spirit of the members of &TEAM when I watch this music video. It also stimulates various emotions that I have kept in the back of my mind. Your insights have deepened my understanding of this music video. Thank you for your reaction to FIREWORK.
I love how you go so in depth with it and caught onto so much of the storyline! My god this song is even more beautiful after knowing about the mv story and 'fireworks' symbolism. I actually teared up at the Nicholas getting shot scene.
Their song Road Not Taken is my favorite &team b-side so hoping you will be doing a listening party to their mini-album
YAAASSSS - i SECOND THIS REQUEST 👏🏼
I guess this song sits with TXT's Thursday's Child, Rihanna's Only Girl in the World, and The Weekend's Blinding Lights 💥🔥
Seeing all their comeback stages has just made me so proud of our boys!
I know exactly how you feel. The entire discography is spectacular! I cannot stop humming it when I'm going about my day, the melody in the chorus of Firework is so pretty!
i loved the whole project they put out and i knew even when i saw the concept videos they posted that i was going to be so enthralled with the creative direction they’re taking the group. they are using the werewolf concept in such a great way which emphasizes youth and heartache and friendship without it being a tired interpretation of the werewolf concept that we’ve seen before. it feels fresh. and the amazing production and more band based music truly makes the concept shine even more. &team are quickly becoming one of my favorite groups. they have a b-side on their new project called Road Not Taken which i LOVE. for a rookie group with such young members they are doing phenomenally
I am literally obsessed with this song. Imo, i think they are the best group to come from Hybe..yeah i said it. Sorry not sorry lol
&TEAMのリアクションをしてくださってありがとうございます!
this song, ofr me, it´s simply the best of the year already. It´s such an emotional rollercoaster. And within the mv... IT´S SOMETHING I WAS MISSING IN A BOYGROUP
I absolutely love this song (and their debut one). Both make me wanna fly or fight for my way, idk 😂 you’re going to love their coreo, PDnim, their performance video is awesome!
thank you for the taking the time to share your thoughts on &team. already being a fan and hearing all of this is really heartwarming
personally I love firework (a tiny bit more) but the depth of appreciation I have for it would not be this much if it wasn't for the fact that it is the continuation of under the skin.
also thank you for noticing their hard work, and endless passion!
This song is incredible, and the way they always film their music videos make me obsessed!! Their music is amazing
this is my song of the year
Thank you for your reaction and bringing them more attention! They definitely deserve it, they are one of my favorite boy groups right now! I cried through most of this music video especially when K was crying.
&team always releasing a unique concept. like how they did on their debut mv. the debut mv and the comeback mv specifically all of their mvs has that storyline that you will never forget and you will feel. I JUST LOVE HOW THEIR MV CONSISTS OF 3 WOW FACTORS: THEIR VOCALS, CHOREO, and ACTING. im just so so proud to be a LUNÉ since predebut. i hope andteam will be known more cause i feel like they’re so underrated and i i hope people will know them more and admire their talent
I've got this song on REPEAT, it just puts me in such a good mood I love it
Let me tell you, you're gonna LOVE &Audition 🤩 regardless of the members who are gonna make it into &TEAM, you will care for all the other contestants as well 🤗
PD I knew you would love this, I'm so happy I get to see yoour reactions. I'm always looking fordward to your commentary, thank you so much for your dedication and for showing your love to &TEAM
i LOVE how hard they lean into the werewolf pack concept, excited to see more! Road Not Taken owns my soul though, it's so good
I don’t know how to explain, but so many feelings and emotions come from this song😭😭I want to cry fr
You should also checkout the korean ver-performance version!! Full choreo with literal fireworks; the lights and shadow scenes they used are amazing!!
This has to be one of my favourite music videos so far this year 😭
YAY! FINALLY I SEE A REACTION VID TO FIREWORK! I feel so much love for this group as it was my first survival show where I live voted each week so I'm so happy that they're getting more recognition and promotion in korea right now!
The bridge part with JO is amazing!
THISSS LIKE?!?!?! IT GOES HARDER THAN I THINK ANY SONG THIS YEAR HAS that is how you make a bridge for a song that's meant to be performed it even gives end of year / survival program like kingdom or peak time FINALE vibes
please consider reacting the full album 🙏🙏🙏. road not taken is one of the best songs i heard this year! thank you for your reaction
Thank you for reviewing this song PD. I also fell in love with them the moment I watched Under the Skin mv
PD, you should give bonus a reaction for their performance video, they did behind firework or K version is also good one. This song is addicting.
K and Ej were in drunk dazed. Waiting for Enhypen to appear in a &Team mv storyline.
thank you pd for reacting to them and loving them, the song is incredibly good and addictive, the emotions in it are beautiful
I waiting for your reaction since the MV come out, thank you PD for you compliment to the boy. I really happy seeing them got more attention recently.
i agree with it being a cycle BUT that last scene of them sleeping at the beach really made me feel like they were there, exposed, out in the open, in the cold seaside air, as a metaphor for having nowhere to run to-and no *one* to turn to but each other. the betrayal of her being a hunter broke so many bonds, and made them feel like they can't trust anyone else ever again... they're left sinking into this feeling of dread, fear, and loneliness and i,,,,,,, i CRY
Everything about this song is the best.I was really waiting for PD’s reaction
thank you SO much for this reaction! you described EVERYTHING I felt while watching this mv
&team are really one of the best, I am so proud of them
I have been waiting for your reaction to this comeback since Under the skin. I definitely share the same feelings for their music and concept, like they do embrace the Japanese style of band sound, combining with the powerful Korean choreography, and the whole plot development like the gem in every Hybe artists. I also start to watch the &Audition to Ep 3 and ready to hard stan if they keep doing a good work with their dischography
OMGGGG ITS HEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Man... same, one more chorus and I was bawling... It was the song, the choreo... and this MV, damn that acting at the end and the moment the girl shot and you get the group running with fireworks, and in between some appear as if they are being shot... Damn... so dramatic! The group didn't quite get me with their debut, and I'd been anticipating the i-Land 4 finally debuting... but this... THIS IS PERFECT! It's the best match between a Korean company-produced group and the epicness and emotion you find in classic J-Pop... I don't know if I'm making any sense lol I was first into J-pop back in the early 2000s before the K-pop boom in 2008 and what drew me in was the ✨drama✨ in their performances and MV and the stories they'd come up with, like so many of their MVs were kind of short movie productions... I was a huge fan of Ayumi Hamasaki so if anyone knows her you'd understand what I mean. Anyway... Please, &Team producers, YOU NICE KEEP GOING!!
&TEAMのリアクションありがとうございます!FIREWORK最高💚
Thank you for reacting! I love the song so much. It's genuinely so good and the boys really did well with the delievery and choreography! Plus they promoted in south korea for this comeback so we have so many performances on youtube!
My interpretation:
They all fall in love with her. They used to all hangout together, in the flower field, under the fireworks, etc. Then she turns them against each other before she betrays them all by attempting to kill them (running for their lives as she fires at them). The video mixed the happy times with bad. The happy fireworks show interspersed with the gunshots is jarring and emotional. Great production.
取り上げて下さりありがとうございます。とても素晴らしい曲です。
this song is so good, they really are putting out some bangers
I watched &Audition as it aired and enjoyed their debut song, but this. This is the moment they fully won me over. Everything about this title track is top notch-the song itself, the music video, the performances/acting by the members-I just watched the performance video for the Korean ver. and was completely blown away by their dancing and the overall cinematography
Also, the lunar eclipse scene is lifted directly from the webtoons-interesting, not Dark Moon: The Grey City, which is &Team’s webtoon, but rather Dark Moon: The Blood Altar (Enhypen’s)
I have been listening to &team only and watching &team contents only since the day I listened to this song. I didn't know these boy before! That's how good this song is. It's magical...
Thank you for your reaction to FIREWORK MV. I was really looking forward to the atmosphere of the movie from the teaser stage, but I will never forget how impressed I was with the perfection of the MV that did not disappoint. Various emotions were born, but I was frustrated because I couldn't express them well, so I appreciate your reaction.
I saw the performance live. I was moved by the way they sprinted from start to finish of the song with dynamic, sprinting and dramatic choreography! &TEAM is a great group and deserves respect! I love NICHOLAS!
My faaaaaave reactor for &TEAM 🥹💕
this song is one of the most beautiful things ever
I felt it, too. I keep going back to it when i want to tap into the emotion
