    My grandpa worked on the spaceship for the first moon landing. His job was to figure out the actual landing part (calculating the speed vs distance to the surface as they land I think). He is 99 years old now. This was exciting to watch as I think of how exciting it must have been for him to watch each landing.

    I was 18 in 1972, so I grew up with all the Space missions. It was a truly magical time. It allowed us to forget for a few moments the horrors of the Vietnam War and the heartbreak of political assignations. Glued to the B&W television in 1969 and my parents invested in a color TV to see the last Apollo missions. TV in the classrooms to watch history being made. Living in NYC and going to the ticker tape parades. Reading everything about the missions. Newspapers published the entire schedule and we followed it hour by hour. And of course, we all dreamed of becoming Astronauts, they were our heroes, larger than life. Landing in 1969 paid homage to JFK, another hero and great man and we kept our promise to him. We beat the Russians, but most the most important result was that we realized if we could send men to the moon and bring them home, we could accomplish anything.What an incredible time to grow up.
    Thank you and God bless the 400,000 plus dedicated members of NASA, and the hundreds of companies that contributed parts, large and small and those hundreds of thousands of engineers and machinists that went the extra mile to insure everything shipped to NASA was the best it could be.
    The devastation of losing Gus Grissom, Ed White, and Roger Chaffee of Apollo 1 reminded us just how incredibly dangerous the space program was and that fear was in our minds from the moment of lift-off to splashdown for every subsequent mission. We all took a sigh of relief at the end of each mission.

    I left Guatemala at 19 after attending the military academy. Then I got my engineering BS and MS degrees from USC. Subsequently, I became a member of the engine development team for the X-33 vehicle, at Rocketdyne. I also worked in the Atlas and the Delta ICBM propulsion systems. The jewell in the crown was my working as a member of the Space Shuttle Main Engine development team. It was the rolls-royce of engines. This checked the box of my wish to work in aerospace. Actually, it partly fulfilled my childhood dream of becoming an astronaut. Had I know as a child that Neil Armstrong was a boiler but attended USC for grad school I would have gone bunkers. After 8 years, I moved on. The US needs to encourage our kids to study engineering and science to keep the edge.

      Moon landings is a hoax CGI TECHNOLOGY was used in in the sixties and most of the moon landings used Cgi with a fish eye lens to deceive the masses that earth is a sphere. Look up flat earth it will release you from the matrix of lies we been told all our life, people just don't realize or see how deceiving Nasa was and is to this day people still believe planets are real and space is real both are science fiction so is satellites and gravity. If you wanna see proof of of all the claims I wrote just look up the words gravity hoax, globe earth lie, satellite hoax, Nasa lies, flat earth type in those terms and look at edviendce people are providing and see if it makes sense what the scientific community and schools/ media teach and tells us. You should start questioning why does Nasa videos look animated for example look at the mars landing why does it look so digital if it is real? I'm not hear to argue with you if you simply believe the moon landings were real ok that's you but I'm telling a 100 percent fact they are fakes look the moon landing hoax edviendce for yourself and you will see what I'm talking about. And stars moon and sun are inside the earth's atmosphere and the earth is a enclosed world by the firmament if you don't know what firmament means look it up.

      Hello! these are some good questions you have there, let me explain that: Astronauts have different Visors on their EVA (Extra Vehicular Activities) Suits that they can push up and down depending on the Situation they are in, think of it like big Sunglasses over their Helmet, they are Mirrored Golden to maximize protection for the Astronaut. If the Sun is at their back or when it's night time they don't need this as it would darken their vision and push it back up and now only have their clear glass as you can see in 13:13 i hope i could help

That we are all but one species, why cant we just understand one another and when will there be peace. Nothing beats the magic batteries that stops the lemonade (LEMon) on the Moon from reaching 250 degrees ( according to Alan Bean)I assume those batteries re pressurised both the LEM & CM every time the door was opened, & made the temperature liveable (& pretty damn quick, otherwise dead actor nots)? & of course the Earth, with no atmosphere, would be too cold for life & they got damn cold in Apollo 13 ( guess that's why they took their suits & helmets off?)But remember, 250 degrees on the Moon (& don't think you're getting any stars, ether)

      I don't buy the 230 degrees in the LEM on the Moon. I'd like to know where that story comes from & why it hasn't been changed (like the rover wheels, from rubber to wire mesh) Even Alan Bean said that without battery driven airconditioning, the LEM would reach 230 degrees. Yet the LEM on Apollo 13 was very cold & the Earth with no atmosphere would be frozen. But anyhow, those magic batteries will cope? As the crew are often out of their suits & helmets I assume they craft can re pressurise & heat up, cool down, whatever (don't hit the wrong switch Alan, the Astro who did not know of the Van Alan Belts)Regarding the rover wheels. I have found a science article from 1975 talking about adapting those tyres for aircraft ( screech & sparks). They have done a great job of covering up the fact that the wheels were once rubber.Of couse the rover on display, that they tested on earth has rubber tyres & is strong enough to take a driver.The ones on the Moon were said to not be strong enough to take a person, on Earth ( & had a total of 1HP)So the rover on Earth bears no relation to what the say went to the Moon.In videos they say, they drove the rover over 4 km ( close to 3 miles) Er, who's the they? 1 seat & 1 HP, no winder there was a punch up at the landing sight ( Man, I gotta do a parody of that, great for news). The loser has to ride in a 1HP vehicle.

Fact; same time of moon landing, president Nixon gifted Russia with billions of dollars, factories, cars and a lot of other expensive presents. It was the closest "friendship" for a short time.
      You belive america was so smart it beat russia in 1969 but india in 2019 couldnt land a drone successfully on the moon with all the technological advances. It was so complex and so far fetched but ppl want to belive it so badly they will do anything to defend this claim. Funny america had to buy soviet rockets to send themselves to space right up to 2000s. Rockets built back in the 1970 . So if America was so smart why not prove it again..right

    • @gandalf_der_echte6459
      @gandalf_der_echte6459 4 роки тому +2

      @@irpmedia6600 After the Apollo spacecraft is launched into orbit around earth, all systems are checked once again. The reason is that an important maneuver for the mission is about to be pursued: the so-called "Trans-Lunar Injection". The 3rd stage of the former Saturn V rocket ignites once again in order to accelerate the spacecraft to a velocity that makes the spacecraft exit the earth's gravitational field. When the spacecraft accelerates the Apogee of its orbit moves further from the earth until it is located outside of the earth's gravity field. This maneuver is made at a certain time so that the point of escape from the earth's gravity field borders the gravity field of the moon. When the spacecraft reaches this point the gravitational influence of the moon is stronger than earth's. It transits from space around earth into lunar space. Therefore this maneuver is called Trans-Lunar Injection or TLI.
