- Outgoing Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik spoke to the media on June 08 and expressed his deep gratitude to the people of Odisha for believing in him from time to time.
“I would like to repeat - my deep gratitude to the people of my state, of Odisha, for blessing me time and time again, showering me with their blessings and permitting me to serve them. Also, I think that we have always tried to do an excellent job and we have much to be proud of in our government and our party,” said Naveen Patnaik.
Naveen Patnaik addressed the rumors about VK Pandian being his successor, stating, "It is not Mr. Pandian." He emphasized that the people of Odisha will choose his successor.

Naveen ji is one of the best CM in India till independence. But due to age and poor physical health issues he lost the grip over the party members. He will always be remembered with grace.

During campaign you should have clarified peoples doubt,but its too late. Despite of getting defeated if you still endorse mr. Pandian and use him as party karyakarta, even behind the curtain, I don't think it will be easier for you to win next elections. BJD lost because Mr. pandian denied ticket to senior leaders and gave ticket to new comers though the earlier are efficient and effective. It angered cadres, then the origin of Mr. Pandian is tamil which triggered people on ground of self-esteem. They didn't want to be rule over by an outsider.
