Who teaches and shows principles with such precision? I don't see many at all. I think all who appreciate this style should make the utmost effort to go to this guru's seminars.
Impeccable, I've only seen such movement out of Sifu Dan, Sifu Rich Faye and or Paul Vunak and Guro Lucay Lucay. He is of their caliber for sure. Much respect sifu.

This system is created and tested for war. It is the angle in which you disarm the knife or dagger. If less talented people can master it so can you. Remember the system is not a techique based system but a concept based system
mikky jackson, question like this always been asked by people who dont practice, but i didnt blame them because they didnt know. Thats why people train, after years of training your body will move by its own and apply that technique without you even think about it. same goes to all the athletes and people who do sports. the body of people who trains and who dont, give MASSIVE GAP of difference
This is great instruction. If you get training and explanations like this at a seminar it is as good as gold.

@all so guys, if you look at the map at the beginning of the footage, youll got the idea why I always say kali is actually silat. this explain to us why their is(in this case) the style of guru maul has many similarities of the neighbouring philipine. in fact sulu sultanate of philipine got this royal marriage with the bruneian sultanate, history lesson for your information ^^

When you get there and he asks you to attack him move around infront of him with the knife to confuse his mind then do a random attack see how good he really is !!
The knife shoots out because his elbow is being hyper extended. The force from his knee pushes his arm straight down. The knife pops out upon his arm hitting the ground.

@SteffenAK There is a whole other technique contained in the chambering of the knife. I was just at a 2 day seminar in DC. You have to attend a seminar and he will explain the rationale for this attack.

How often will an attacker with a knife and bad intentions come at you like that? Think about it, if the knife is sharp, do you really need to pull the attack all the way from behind your head, like the attacker in this video does?

Ok, then please tell me the limited numbers of ways a person can be stabbed or cut by a knife.

There are a lot of knife and gun defense videos on UA-cam that say the same thing do this and do that this way and that way but they don’t say what to do if you get cut stabbed shot or killed while defending yourself.
if you are stabbed or shot you can't do anything you can only surrender to your enemy, Silat teaches anticipation so that all that doesn't happen
this is for action movie fights ;) Nobody will atack with knife like this. This technique will never work in real action...

You can train to know which way something is coming just by the way the weapon is held or brandished. In the same respect a good boxer knows how to bob and weave or slip away when the punch comes, you can train to build that neurological response once that visual cue pops up.
