Man, imagine doing this video for when Age of Empires 3 Definitive Edition comes out. There are many more animals even then AO2 DE, with their broad categories being herdables, huntables, and predators/treasure guardians (of which there are also ocean variants that you have to take out with your warships). Then you have animals that you can get as allies in various ways, everything from Home City shipments, rewards from treasures, and even some trainable under the right circumstances (allying with the Tupi for instance lets you research a tech that let's you make up to 12 jaguars at the town center that don't cost population, but cannot attack buildings, so they are mostly good for raiding enemy villagers). So a comparison of various converted animal units may be warranted if you ever get to that.
What we really want to know, is about a possible steppe lancers nerf. You didn’t mention it, but even a well micro’ed pack of 30 water buffalos melts against a tightly patrol-command squad of 12 lancers. Might be worth considering as your next post.

Id really love it if you did a follow up video on the effectiveness of taking deer. Pushing them in to TC Building a mill From whereever they spawn on average. Since if you can delay putting down farms to fuedal age, they're a wood bonus (usually you have at least 2 by fuedal due to bore vills which would be a temporary boost of 120 wood minimum) This would then combine with horse collar over the course of every ten minutes (as per your farming upgrade vid) Plus they collect at a faster rate than farms so you should in theory be up in wood and food at the end of hunting 3/4 of the buggers.

Not until after the coming balance update. They take a long time to make, so I'd rather they not be immediately outdated if I can help it :)
@@SpiritOfTheLaw and what about the redo of some old one?
@@SpiritOfTheLaw Going at it again. It's so nice to see your always being dedicated to your YT content. I'd honestly much rather wait for an appropriate overview than get an outdated one, as you put it. As always, keep up the good work, Spookyboi!
@@antoniomele4830 Same answer I guess. Wait after balance update.
@@SpiritOfTheLaw redo the old ones it will be refreshing!
The lions attacking the TC at the end made me chuckle.
I can think of at least one type of animal that I'm *furious* wasn't mentioned.
Don't mind us, just casually chopping trees while lions set fire to our town centre.
6:45 when a pride of lions gets to your city and burns it to the ground
A messenger to the current ruler:
Sir! The water buffalo has just returned from his scouting mission, he noted that there is gold north of here!
On another note, there are lions attacking our town center, we're not sure how long the building can hold, it's already on fire!
The ruler:
(´・_・`)
Wouldn't have died to all those lions if you were playing Magyars
0:13 Pfff the Chinese will eat anything, that would be an interesting bonus if the chinese could harvest the non harvestable animals like wolves, lions, leguans, etc.
I always commited to city building so I always fence my animals inside the city and theyre a great decoration materials
6:47 : "Daaaamn Nature. You Scary"
Id really love it if you did a follow up video on the effectiveness of taking deer.
Pushing them in to TC
Building a mill
From whereever they spawn on average.
Since if you can delay putting down farms to fuedal age, they're a wood bonus (usually you have at least 2 by fuedal due to bore vills which would be a temporary boost of 120 wood minimum)
This would then combine with horse collar over the course of every ten minutes (as per your farming upgrade vid)
Plus they collect at a faster rate than farms so you should in theory be up in wood and food at the end of hunting 3/4 of the buggers.
This is what I needed in my lifey
Hey spritit
Pls do a video-series about zhe mapeditor :)
Spirit, maybe you could look more into the mechanics of the natural wonders cheat? E.g. when you attack with deer, after a long while they'll actually cause damage to e.g. buildings, eventhoug they technically have 0 attack. I was always wondering what's going on there..
Hey man you forgot about another type of animal; rideables, which includes horses, camels and even elephants
Aquatic animals seems to be left behind too
Anyone whilling to make a Mod that changes the stats of every animal, to more reslistic ones?? I mean food, speed, attack, HP...
I'd get that mod for sure!!
I would like that mode
Everyone's gangsta till the lions raid your town centre.
