Superhet with a regen in place of the IF strip is something I've wondered about. Would make it considerably simpler to DIY a superhet if IF cans weren't required, better yet avoid the crystal filter too but that may be asking for too much from the regen, IDK.
👍All the projects sound great Mike. The two that got me interested was the solid state Simple X Super and the 10m SSB transciever. Whatever, you decide on, I will be watching.
I'd vote for the Simple X Super, too. I'd like to see some old QST projects come to life. I like everything that is analog, either tube or transistor. I like to watch you trouble shoot and improve old designs. I'm as interested in understanding electronic design as I am in building. The auto-regen project sounds fun, too.
Hello Michael and all... Mike I would like to suggest you look at the 2x4 receiver (in maybe the 1964 handbook). It appears to be an improved version of the Simple-X Super... And I love what you do...! 73, KC9ZEW
May be a DIY 9Mhz Xtals SSB filter can do a TX/RX IF stage. With a simple mix , eg: a 5 -5.5 Mhz VFO, can work at 80m¬20m. Very classic simple conversion. Is only an Idea. Greetings from Spain
I discovered your channel probably around 2012 when I was getting into valve regens and going for my radio licence. It's been great watching your channel grow and seeing what you build. Really looking forward to future videos, especially the Simple X Super.
Hi Mike, finally got a notification for your channel so YT is prioritizing my feeds irrespective of how i set it up, so missed a lot (Out of sight etc.) So have some catching up to do. Nice Fluke and component haul. 73...
10m DSB would be interesting. Knowing how these things work conceptually says to me that you could play with different ways to do it as it's much more simple to generate than SSB. You could even make the stages double purpose for RX and TX. Lots of possibilities for playing around
I am all about those tube projects. I'm not a ham, but its always interesting to me to see what people can do with pre-1950 era electronics. Also find it interesting to see anything on the personalities behind the technology, the Alfred Morgan series was very good. I actually joined the NJARC because of their history lectures they were posting to youtube that I discovered during COVID.
Hey Mike - I would love to see the 10M QRP project - that would be timely and fun for sure. Will you be at Marlboro again this year? Have you considered presenting at the NE HamXposition? You have so much to offer, I'm sure you'd pack the room with appreciative OMs. 73 es HNY de AB1DQ
Lets hope you will get the recognition you deserve. Fed up with videos by people who think that the only essential tool in a radio amateur's tool box, is the CREDIT CARD. I hope you have a healthy, productive and prosperous 2024. G7VFY.
I believe the Simple X Super has a problem with images. The 2x4 (page 120 of the 1964 handbook) indicates that it has two tuned circuits giving greater that 70 db of image rejection. For your consideration....! Thank You Again, for all you do to edify us...! Best...!
I also would like to see the "SimpleX Super". I have the build in my 1959 ARRL Hand Book. Tubes 6u8-A, 6CG7 B+ 250V DC . What would you do for the voice coil 10k Ω output transformer?
Remember my goal is a fully solid state Simple -X-Super. So Discrete PA stage (no LM386) the transformer would be the very common (now surplus) Radio Shack 500 Ohm to 8 Ohm Job. 273-1379 or similar.
Mike I have looked at that in the hA dbook, please give it try,I found it also in Aussie mag JanFeb 2006 using Solid State ! It was from Drew Diamond , can you find the Miniductor Coils ?Good luck,73 ,Jerry K9ut ❤
I'd like to see something where you take the 10 m junk box transmitter that you just built last month and perhaps see how we can put it on CW. I'm thinking the PA should handle it fine without any major changes to the tank. But I'd like to see how we can get in CW. Also vfo stability how that's going to come into play
Looking forward to it. Something I want to see properly done is a reflex receiver. I just got a very interesting book call :Instruments of amplification" includes flame diodes and triodes, something I must experiment with.
Mike, I'm always plugging your excellent channel to my fellow club members, hopefully some watch but as you know, you can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink. A 10m solid-state, now there's a coincidence, my current project is a 10m tuneable IF for my various vhf/uhf transverters. I'm determined to enter our UK(vhf)activity contests 100% home-brew. Then, since I've just purchased a modulation transformer, I need to make a start on your 10m AM transmitter. So many projects and so much fun. All the best for 2024 and may your channel grow and grow. 73 Steve M0KOV

@@MIKROWAVE1 I want to suggest a theme for the video. The occurrence of 60Hz modulation when the oscillation of the regenerator is directed to the electrical network of the house. When ssb and cw are received with 60Hz. And how to deal with this with the help of RFamp.
Lovely! Thanks! Bert VE2ZAZ

A Fluke meter, much better than a gold watch for your retirement. Congrats!
I look forward to seeing all these projects! Keep 'em coming!
brilliant Mike - looking forward to all of this for sure...
Solid state - Yuk, say it isn't so! Hollow state only, please!!
I'd vote for the Simple X Super, too. I'd like to see some old QST projects come to life. I like everything that is analog, either tube or transistor. 10 meter DSB / AM simple transceiver like HF DSB walkie talkie by sv3ora ( this time without the link). Keep it simple and solid-state!

Great! Looking forward to watching your channel in 2024!
Could you suggest a "junk box" valve 10m receiver?
Mike - always put the SHARP down as soon as you are done with its function. Ask me how I know. Something to teach the grandkids.
The package had super packing on the top but none on the bottom.
The Soviet tubes were made in Ukraine.
Maybe some SSB transmitter, valve or transistor, using the phase rotation method?
Lets hope you will get the recognition you deserve. Fed up with videos by people who think that the only essential tool in a radio amateur's tool box, is the CREDIT CARD. I hope you have a healthy, productive and prosperous 2024. G7VFY.
Thanks Mike for all you do! Your gifts are well deserved. I hope you get ten times the subscribers this year. Thanks for making such a great channel.
Am very much looking forward to it!
With radio as a hobby one can never run out of ideas. Keep the stuff coming. I love it.
Maybe a transistor linear for 10. Or how to clean up a cb linear for 10.
Looking forward to the upcoming contnet!

The Simple -X-Super DEPENDS on images. That is how you swap bands. Hi.

I bet miniductor is being made again or very shorty will be by somebody. It happened with chokes, transformers and tube sockets.

Happy New Year, Mike. Would you like me to send some wood glue from England for that wobbly table? 😉 de M1GWZ
That is a TV Tray. What kind of person are you based on your TV? Channel 4 Lib? BBC?
Happy New Year Mike
been away for a while busy with work n all. Looking forward to see more of your awesome projects. Cheers n 73's from Amman

Great now that will be in my head all day. The Reflex. I just saw Duran Duran this Fall.
Cool, could you show the front covers of all the books?
20 T Regen, interesting!
a nice mono 75m 500w. or multi band. valve or soild state would be nice.
The BIG BOMB.
Thanks, Mike 👍
More solid-state regens please Mike! And keep it all-analog too!
Wishes for a happy 2024! Thanks for all your work and friendship! 73, bill.
Thank you for the channel. You’re the go-to presenter for home-brew builds.
