The record is technichally owned by Oscar Schmidt, who never played in the NBA. Drafted by New Jersey in 84, he's a Brazilian Olympic legend, he played for nearly 20 years overseas, mostly in Italy and Spain, scoring close to 50,000 points in all competitions. Daniels was a 3x ABA champion, he signed with New Jersey in 1976 after the ABA and the NBA merged. Petrovic was also mostly an international player for most of his career, got to the NBA in 1989.
Schmidt I guess owns the record in a way but he’s not in sole possession of the record cuz other intl guys like Sergei Belov are in the hall. Not to mention women’s players but that’s kind of silly cuz it’s a different conversation
Even Yao Ming isn’t really comparable because he was a legend in pro Chinese basketball. Even the guys whose only pro league was the NBA were high school or college legends if they made the HOF
Mel and Dampier were ABA legends, Cervi and Jennette were before the NBA legends, Drazen and Stokes had tragic accidents, Dino was euroleague legend and idk how Bob Houbregs made the hall
You could make it so everyone on the team refuses to shoot but pass to your guy, so he averages insanely more points. Probably wouldn’t make it still, but that way you’d break scoring records and such. Edit: I should have waited until the end, but you could have gone further and edit every players tendencies.
Or do it in mycareer on rookie mode in 2k17. I'm a rookie as a 6'8 two way small forward (SF/SG), averaging 45 ppg, 12 steals, 10 assists, 7 boards, and 1 block a night. Might get the steal record year 1
@@platypinetwork this is all simulation…. He’s not playing 82 games. You can’t without messing with shot tendencies and offensive playmaking tendencies get stats they would Work. 45/10/12/7 wouldn’t be hall of fame after one year. You need to break every season, rookie, and maybe some career records before you make HOF
@itsmychannel season record for steals i already beat, I'm the frontrunner for roty, dpoy, and mvp. Career records are tricky, assuming I finish the season with 12 steals per night or higher, that'll be 1k steals in year 1 and the record is Stockton with 3265. For assists, it would be 7 years to hit the record, and playing in the paint on defense is one of my weaknesses so blocks im a non contender but rebounds are easier, except the record would take me 12 years (unless I focus my game more on boards like a big). Since the game was 2017, then I'm gonna have to battle Bron, KD, Melo, and Harden for the scoring title because he didn't pass wilt yet. My scoring was also low in the start of the season because I was coming off the bench, so there's games where I barely played that skew data. Sorry for ranting but yeah doing 82 games plus playoffs for 3-4 years would be stressful but it would almost certainly get someone onto the stat rankings if they built a 99 overall enforcer type power forward
Nahhhh brodie don't act like the comment I made made sense I saw youndo it last video but of you ain't know imma let it ride imma huge fan but will catch you when you wrong but never forget #youknowball
