- During this off season, I figured I'd share with you how I am deciding which events to go to. This Up In Smoke Tour seems like a hit in terms of everything I am trying to achieve next year. A ton of driving in a short period of time, recklessness, rad tracks, and great driving.

It would be fun to see you hook up with the Nightride crew in Poland. I believe they keep a car for Jimmy Oakes. Maybe you and Jimmy could split the cost of having the car over there and have a central location to have it located along with opportunities for other events and content.

You and Chelshe inspire me. I've been watching FD since Vaughns first year and I feel like FD lost the "art". We don't see much personality in drifting compared to back then. Now it is all about the judges instead of all about the contestants. I will miss you in FD but I am so glad to get to see you push your creativity and driving personality more. In FD everyone is trying to it the "perfect" line but half of why I fell in love with drifting was because you could see the different forms and styles. Now it's just a race.
Good luck and I'm sure I am not the only one excited to see you get to drift how YOU want instead of how the judges want. Grassroots ftw.

Just to let you know, Rockingham no longer exists as a track in the UK unfortunatley :(.
Wetting the tracks happens in the UK and Europe mostly for the noise suppression as it means no tyre screeching.

getting the tracks wet is quite normal in the EU its normally to keep noise down because of tyres and as you said because of tyre smoke as well because most tracks are next to citys and a sh!t ton of people complain

After watching this properly, the first part of the video you basically explained why we started the tour and the brand overall. We all came from skateboarding BMX background here, in Ireland and UK, and we realised in drifting, nobody does the equivalent of just going to the skatepark and hanging out. Drifting always has that "journey to comp" vibe and the only purpose to contune is to eventually do comps and thats the goal. We like the adventure of discovering new tracks and new drift cultures across a continent, keeping it fun. Skatepark vibes, not skate comp vibes. Be sick to have you bro!

You should try to make it to officer Dan's no coast drift party. It's 3 days of a mad party with almost limitless seat time.
I feel like thats exactly what driftweek 7 was for me. the missing part to make it perfect was the average driver skill was lowish and for some reason it snowed all the freakin time🤣. I left montreal's winter for a california trip and missed a driving day because I was stuck at the airbnb in a feet of snow. Id like go back but I wont cuz I cant justify spending another 20k to drift in another country with people of lower skill than my hometown tracks
You know that kid in highschool that listened to bands before they were cool? Chelsea is that guy in drifting, and hes just trying to show you guys whats actually up in the shred scene.

Going back to roots with more aggressive freestyle driving and more fun, im all about that ! Dont know if you have a sim but if you can get your hands on one you should come drive with us in assetto with the guys from the goodestcast podcast on thursday nights its alot of fun and driving is high level, its still not the real thing but scratches the hitch for very little money while waiting for the real thing ✌️
Alexandre Claudin actually has a youtube channel where he shows some of the builds and events he's been to in the charger. The charger has had a lot of iterations (one with the HUGE daytona style wing too) but def check it out! He's a real cool dude
The snowy mountains track is Pas de la Casa , Andorre, Near to Spain, i've did a few track days there and the tricky thing is the elevation, its on 1500meters

I feel team tandems would be better for viewers and comp. You could do style more and it removes the drive away and grip wars, but then it's not a single person thing so idk. Always looked forward to final bouts team tandem battles and turning that up to pro I think would be interesting.

Looks like that event is drift week on roids.. looks hectic and reckless but a super chill environment with the ability of throwing some savage angles and backies and push it hard and not be punished for it.. total opposite of formula drift..

Just at the start of the video, but I fully agree so far. Currently, FD feels less like Xgames and more like something like dressage. There is not really room to show style in the driving. As a fan, I would much rather see a backwards entry and a smoke cloud than someone not hit a cone in just the right way.
Also, as a European: The parts availability will differ massively depending on which country you are in. In Sweden, you can almost find Volvo parts in the grocery store, but finding the same parts in France will be next to impossible.
I've always been curious why there hasn't been a red bull freestyle drift event where one person leads and another person chases but there's no set lines. Maybe there is and I'm just unaware. To me, that seems more xgames.

Not that you need any validation for your choices in drifting but... you seemed so stoked watching the video, hyped up and happy. If you had half as much fun at the event as you did watching it, it'd be worth it! Haha. Looking forward to seeing what your future ventures hold bringing ALL of your style to these events.

I love your point fr is not what it was before back to 2017,18 now I know why you left fd I respect you for that decision because having fun on drifting is the main thing but last year was a thing with you drivers and fd employees and we saw that but have fun that's what drifting is about

If you say you are going to do any date in Ireland, I'm there.. lz fest or any other event or drift masters as a wildcard(no championship pressures or such).. wanted to go to some more bigger events and you being there would just be the extra cherry that may push me to go.

Hi there!! If you talk about the one at 7:42, this track is located in Andorra, pas de la casa. It's quite normal to find snow during the winter season. They also run the G series when the weather (full ice) allows them. Cheers from Barcelona!!
Just a tip for using a green screen. Use a red tinted light as a backlight (pointing towards you from behind) to get rid of the green halo effect on you.
Yes! That does work great. I grew up doing cine work, I actually just used a green sheet we had haha.
Idea: World Drift Doubles Championship, 4 car trains with the teams interleaved, all 4 drivers score, each team alternates drivers between 1/2 & 3/4 position between battles... :-)

2:00 Competitive drifting is a lot like competitive skateboarding. You have to be strategic and sometimes quite conservative with your driving in order to win, the same way you won't try the hardest trick that you've never done in a skateboarding competition. So in essence what Chelsea wants to do is film a street part. 😂 Or rather drive in the same manner a street skateboarder will when he's filming for his part - push the absolute limits of what is possible, not necesseraly play the strategy game.
