I really want the properties and layouts to be template based too. I would love to be able to set up a template for a specific thing and all the data to be where I want it to be instead of a weird mish mash of things lol. I think i did manage to get something set up so it only shows the populated properties within templates but I have no idea how i found that or what I did to set it up now 😂
YES EXACTLY!!! I genuinely think this feature would make notion so much more powerful!! 👏🏻👏🏻 I think so many of us have nightmare databases at this point but imagine we could clean it up like that 😍
I have transitioned from Notion to other note taking software’s due to simplicity, organization, back-linking notes, offline access, and security.
I love the organization, but entry has become super slow haha.
That is fair! And if another app better fits your needs than it makes total sense :)
Love the set up. Just one question. How do you migrate your data? Copy/paste from old database to new database or do you type in everything new?
Thanks! 😊 So it kind of depends, some data I copy pasted (like my list of concerts) but a lot of properties had to be added manually. It’s a tedious task and time consuming but I was committed to having a clean start this year haha

I love your layouts and this new look is amazing... I have one problem though... My Notion doesn't look as tight as yours (or anybody else's on UA-cam)... In my pages, the spaces between blocks are much larger than what looks in your layouts... Do you use Notion's desktop app or web for these videos??? Does it actually make any difference??? or is it a matter of my display's resolution???
Thank you!! That’s most likely because your text is not set to small! In the settings (top right corner of the page) you can change the page to be full width and you can change the text to be smaller which makes the space between things a lot less chaotic 😊
@@ExtraTxt I have all my pages set to small text, that's not the issue... It's not that the text is big, it's the spaces between blocks that looks big compared to everyone making tutorials or walkthroughs of their Notion... for example, if I tried to copy the look on your home page, with the text set to small, I still can't see all the text as you see it on your home page...
some people say it's the resolution of the screen, others say it's the Notion desktop app (which I use rather than the web version)!!!
@@Sha3shaboan Ah okay! Then my assumption was wrong, sorry! So I have a 27" monitor and I use Notion in the browser. My Notion desktop app looks the same though so I think it might indeed be the size and resolution on the monitor tbh! I do know that when I used to use notion at my office job it looked less pretty because they had very different screens so that might actually be the case then!
