Some reason i can't hear. The volume all up and i checked other videos are loud so i don't know why. Gosh darn..i would love to know which ones you think are ok for the price. I'm a professional groomer i used to like my old gibes but they couldn't be sharpen no more. Now i use Kenchii but i like a cheaper pair for dirty dogs before baths. What's your go to shear and clipper
I have gotten 2 sets from Kingstar, meant to be back-ups and I love them both. They are awesome and I reach for them constantly. I like bigger shears and clunkers though. I think the kits were in the $40 range.
I’d love to see this as a series! I just started out corporate dog grooming about a month ago, and it’s so hard to find the proper supplies that will work for me and my budget! And for some reason, the Gimar set doesn’t have the tiny shears included anymore, which is such a bummer because that’s what I wanted most, for cornering eyes and faces on small dogs and cleaning up legs and paws!
I have the Gimars, which I purchased in 2020. My only problem is they have become loose and therefore do not cut very well now. They have definitely given me my money's worth for keeping my little man cleaned up. I have replaced my long curved scissors once. I have also purchased another set from another company and sent them back ASAP as they were really bad ... dull. After this review, I will be purchasing another Gimar set and washing/drying my pup before trimming because that is what you do:)❤
Thank you so much for sharing! This is really great insight about the longevity of these shears :) you should maybe be able to tighten them using the center dial, but again-- they're only $20 so not a huge investment.
I am a groomer and I have the small baby scissors that I use around the stop area of the dogs that are a little crazy and jump around a lot so I'm less likely to cut them. The dogs that hate everything around their faces. I also use them if I accidentally push my cutter too far while oiling and cleaning my blades to lift up the blade guide to slide it back in, lol.
I have the Gladog set and I have using them for at least 4 years now. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 6 Stars I have not taken good care of them but they have stood sturdy and work like they are brand new even to this day. I’m still learning how to properly care for my grooming equipment and so up until recently I did not know how to maintain my Shears aside from the tension (falls closed to a 45* angle when blade is dropped from 90* angle). Not once have I cleaned these shears, lubricated them or sharpened them in 4 years and yet they still cut my dogs fur. Though they are Obviously dull AF when I tested them on a piece of toilet paper, the fact that I never had a problem even when I had to cut through mats that I couldn’t comb out, says a ton to me. If I wanted to continue to use these, 100% I could. In fact, I will keep these as back up. It would cost me the price I payed for this set just send 1 of these to be sharpened though so It think I might be ready to invest in something a bit higher quality. I have loved having these and I’ve gotten so much better at shaping and layering with the help of these. I wanted to learn how to use the thinning shears most of all and I’m finally getting good at it now. The only thing that even slightly bugged me was that the dials on mine constantly needed tightening. Almost without fail every time I took them out for use I would need to check and usually they would be too loose every time. This could be a problem exclusive to me, especially considering I lost the case a long time ago so I keep these in a handbag with my other dog grooming brushes. On the off chance this is not a me problem though, I felt like I should mention it but disclose that I don’t store them properly (and they may have been dropped once or twice 👀). Not that big of an inconvenience though.
I need to take my mind out of the gutter listening to this video. Awsome reviews though. I was looking at Geib for a $400 set of 3 and had no idea how expensive grooming sheers are.
This was great! I would love to see one using shears in the mid range like 50-150 range
So glad you enjoyed! I'll be filming that as well, so stay tuned ;)

@@JessRonaGroomingYes, please!
I love using the tiny shears for puppy inner eye corners! For those tiny terrifed first tidies!
Yesss that's smart
I also use them between baths for puppy...uh...dingleberries, if it's just minor and not needing a whole clean up.

Thank you I just ordered the ones you suggested. There's a difference in price depending on what color you choose.
Loved loved this video comparing affordable shears for home use!!! Thank you. Do a video on other tools you use 👍
I already ordered the Gladog set a few days ago... but the main reason was that I needed curved shears, so I'm glad you liked those ones!
