Came straight from the Hawkesbury video to this one for some more rural action, this one certainly has a more urban-rural feel though. I see someone else has already mentioned it, but those few blue bins sparked some interest. Are they commercial services or is it sort of an everyman for themselves situation in regards to bins in Temora? Spotto at 12:13 too, that one is a bit out of place! I notice in a few of your country NSW videos how there are a bunch of laneways where bins a presented. You'd think that'd be associated with more metro centres but obviously not. The unloading shot was a nice touch, as was the closing one. Can't imagine a huge number of trains pass through this town every day!

I was a bit curious about the blue bins myself, not 100% sure on what the go is with them, but they belonged to the local school. I did think maybe they're for paper and cardboard, but surely they're well aware only one truck comes through... oops! haha There were a few random 240Ls like the one you pointed out, so I guess out there you can provide your own bin if necessary. Harden and Temora were two councils I visited where I couldn't find any bins sitting on the street, having me think I'd missed everything, but then I discovered the lanes =] Didn't see any trains across the whole Riverina while I was out that way (much to my disappointment), but the freight locos are around at the right times, don't know about the extent of passenger services though.

Real nice Mitch. These single bin councils amaze me and I usually get quite a bit of excitement when I find out about one. This leaves me wondering what Urana has now and whether they upgraded. This seems to be one of if not the last single bin council left. Well done mate.

There are still a decent number of councils around that continue to use the single bin system. In NSW the further west you go the more you find, as the cost to transport recycling to existing MRFs in the east doesn't make kerbside services viable for the small communities. I know Broken Hill has a garbage service and garden waste service, but no recycling bin. Last I checked, it's the same deal with Urana as it was 5 years ago when I visited, although I believe there are changes in the pipeline under the new Federation Council for the next collection contract.
