Do you know what the limit is here? I regularly travel on the Bentham line between Skipton and Lancaster, most of which is jointed, with the limit being 60 mph. In a dilapidated 142 it makes for an interesting ride. =D
@@TheJamster2006 I've worked out how fast it's going, roughly: I'd said about 57 mph. That's taken from the beat of the wheels, with 21 joints per fifteen seconds, giving 84 joints per minute, or 5,040 feet per minute, which works out at 57·3 mph. =D
@@inkyscrolls5193 wow lol. I am impressed with your mathematics. Surely a lot of work for a Sunday evening lol. Seriously though thanks for taking the time and interest to work that out
Try the Far North line from Inverness to Wick\Thurso completely full of bullhead jointed track, hours of this noise except the Class 158 units are quieter with the more advanced T4 bogies
@@TheJamster2006 Thanks and yeah it transferred to Northern around Autumn 2018 now it has the fainsa ironing board seating like the 2 car 158s and 195s/331s
a fantastic sound, brings me tears of joy
Did you have a 4car that time
