Putting 500 into Bitcoin is a waste. Even ethereum you will see a minuscule return compared to investing in mid to low cap alt coins.
List current examples of these mid to low cap altcoins

This is not true, alt coins are a better investment. They can 10000x and make you a millionaire. BTC is for the rich
But also you can lose a lot of that money too if something unexpected happens(like the covid)
In my opinion if you have 10k to to invest. Put 20% Btc/eth as a Hedge. and the rest 80% mid cap and lower cap alt’s for higher returns 🎉

I understand your reasoning, but personally being a student with little to invest I am 47% eth 15% bnb and rest are altcoins.
With 1k in btc making x5 it will not change my much in my life and means. So I decide to take the risk to make nothing to x30.
If I had 100k, I would do as you say, puting same amount in alts than now but 90% in btc & ETH

Well, as far as I know, it's not true that “you have to buy the whole share”; in fact, you can still legally buy a fraction/part of a share, of course without expecting any dividends received.

Hey … I started that way and did 8k in shib I start 2021 and slowly $5 here $4 here Coinbase advance didn’t really charge me to add money from my PayPal to any coin but once u buy to convert u can get as low as 19 cents 10 cents iv done just to keep a symbol on top of my list to remind me

Altcoins are not anymore shitcoins. Bitcoin is a elephant who is now going forward more slowly than the past. Buy solid altcoin Projekts. Avax,Sol,DOT, Fantom, Arbitrum
I love your content, and I think you are right in a sense, but I want to challenge the idea that a 1k and 100k portfolio size should be equal coins, or percentages.
If I had a lower amount of money, I am still building, and therefore ETH or BTC wouldn't be a pick for me.
If I had a large amount of money, I would want to store a larger percentage of it in a lower risk coin, like ETH.
If I had only a small amount of money, like 10,000 dollars or less, I would want to invest most of it in medium to high risk and not much in BTC unless it was a shorter term position.
In fact, I might reorganize my portfolio regularly, and HODL more like a trader with 10k or less. BTC
The only circumstance where this doesn’t make sense is if the transaction costs will drown you out I.e if you want to hold a governance token on eth and need to transact for it
