An old project, a remake of the supernova spell from final fantasy 7 updated some assets and cam shots. made this a cross between the new super nova effect in smash bros and the original. medium used Unity, Maya, AfterEffects, & Photoshop. Might continue to work on this once I have more time :P

To be fair, Jupiter is considered a sleeping nuke or a failed star... Meaning, if that planet blows up, Earth is already done for even before the expanding Sun devours the other 2 planets (Merc and Ven).

Some sound effects that could be added:
Obviously explosion noises for the planets,
For Jupiter have it sound like rushing gas from the implosion before it violently explodes
For the Sun, have it be silent for a second or two before the shockwave reaches the camera, before unleashing a deafening boom.
Then, for a good amount of dread, as it pans to earth, there could be billions screaming before it is silenced by the explosion.
