I heard from a friend for the first time in years the other day. He told me to get on Minecraft, that he had something to show me. I logged in and joined him, and lo and behold, we were standing in the middle of our survival world we played religiously when we were about 13 years old. I’m about to celebrate my 24th birthday. It was unreal. Everything was exactly as it was left. Food still cooking in the furnaces, dogs still sitting and waiting at the doors, crops growing and ready to be harvested. It was frozen in time for over a decade. And it was the most bittersweet feeling that one can experience
This reminded me of something I forgot happened 6-12 years ago.. Back when I was 16 I met this girl online that lived in New York, we played call of duty black ops zombies together and one day she asked me to buy minecraft because she wanted me to play it with her and her little sister. Her little sister was sad because her hamster just died so I bought it. We played this game alot afterwards. When we first started playing we were just friends but as our friendship grew we unintentionally left memories on this world. A heart shape house she made, a dog we tamed together and 2 beds side by side. Her little sister made a house with a bunch of beds, I think I vaguely remember her joking about it being for our future kids. We stayed together for 3 years. Being on opposite sides of the country from each other we went through alot of hardships. Eventually we grew apart because she wasn't able to leave her life behind to come to California and I couldn't find a way to find a job and move to New York amongst other things , before I left America and moved to China in 2018 I was packing my things and found my old Xbox 360 in the closet, I decided to boot it up one last time and opened Minecraft. I found the old world we made together back in 2011-2012.. I walked around, absorbing everything that had happened, remembering conversations we had while in those places I was walking through, the disgustingly tall base I made the first night we played together and how she ridiculed it and said "it isn't cool just because it's really big" 😂😢 the heart shaped base she was so excited to show me, the plans we made to meet in person and live together like we did in our tiny house in Minecraft with our dog.. There was so much memories in that world. I wasn't able to take the 360 with me when I left and I still remember the last thing I looked at before leaving my room for the last time was looking at the Xbox and being grateful I got to experience that. If I could go back and do it all over again I would
@@jeremymanuel5803 new York was extremely expensive. Still is, jobs were hard to get also, I had no family there and her family was strict so I had no one to stay with. China is a bit easier. Many people have gone to China with no degree and taught English, made over 2500$ a month in a country where the minimum wage is 450$ in most places. We didn't pursue it further because she wouldn't come to California, considering she could comfortably restart her life there without the worries I would have had, finding a job, a place to rent etc. It is what it is haha.
I’ve been playing Minecraft for over a decade and I’m currently 26. The world doesn’t have to end; just take a long break. It will be there for you when you need it
Life gets so busy once you become an adult, or when your mental health gets in the way of you being able to enjoy the small things like minecraft. I started playing again a few days ago and I find myself as happy as if I was still the 5-6 year old me that played the game nonstop. It feels like a warm hug being back in a game that comforted me so many years ago.

I had actually found an old minecraft world that me and my mom had played in 2015. We had built so much, explored so much, and finding it in 2022 hurt my stomach, but in a bittersweet kind of way. My mom is still alive, but those were just different times, and id do anything to go back and appreciate it more. Edit: my mom has kinda fallen off video games recently, but you guys have convinced ME to convince HER to get back on the grind.
I once did this. It was the xbox 360 era. Me and my friend group made this server back in 2014. Then in 2017 we felt like it's better to end the server once and for all. We built a firework machine. Basically what it does that it fires fireworks until there is no firework in there, repeatedly. We went to our shacks and counted to 3. 1... 2... 3... we're free... we left the server, and went with our lifes. My best friend died to covid, and the other friend i was really close to died in a car accident. The others are just fine living their life. My best friend was only 16 and the other friend i was close to was 19. Rest in peace, old pals. EDIT: I'm doing fine, and i appreciate the comments. Hope you guys have a good day.
Me personally, I like to think of as if when you delete a minecraft world or stop playing it, all your animals get put into a new minecraft world to rome around until you find it.
Im guessing you mean reincarnation or something, like they appear in a new game untamed until you find them, and then this cycle repeats when you quit or start a new world
i’m crying reading these comments and watching this it’s so touching how a game can bring so many people happiness minecraft is so amazing and this video breaks my heart
Reminds me of what I did to my old world. I blew chunks off of my old buildings, and I scattered my loot to my side bases like my jungle base, mountain base, nether base, etc. I released all of my animals and I buried myself on a random coordinate. I then made a treasure hunt where I had a map on my grave that would leave me on another map and then another one and so forth. Once completed, I'd have all of my gear back and be led back to my main base where I had a library containing information on my farms. This way I'd relive my old world, see the old creations I made, refurbish and fix them and in the end get to experience the weird and wonderful world that I had created. One with ruined cities, ancient buildings, and wonderous loot. A world filled with old memories, but also ready for some new ones.
Terraria and Minecraft has the same nostalgic feelings when you about to quit the game and the feeling of leaving everything behind you made and have fun is sad.

I played minecraft back when it first came out, I played alone. Now over 10 years later I'm playing it again but this time with friends on the console and with all the updates, I am having to re learn the entire game as almost everything has changed. So I guess in a way I am having g that experience. I have been streaming it on Twitch under a completely different name than you see here. I hope the people who stop into my streams have fun and enjoy my rowdy self and random dance parties.
When you come back and the world actually progresses. Your base is now in ruin. Moss and overgrowth covers your base. The villagers are all gone, it's now a jungle biome. Someone sees you and doesn't recognize the true conqueror of all realms as it's been millennias so he talked casually without knowing the real meanings of the rebooted player.

This almost made me cry because it made me remember 7 years back me my dad and brother all had a creative world and we made an aquarium underground and it was so old there were no actual fish so it was item frames with fish in them and we haven’t played since me and my brother got Xboxes… I miss back when I could play games with my dad instead of actually having anxiety and worrying about talking to people. Ty for reading this stranger. DAYUM BRO WTF WHY HAS THIS GOT 2.4K LIKES ?!?! I WAS JUST TALKING ABOUT CHILDHOOD JESUS !!!! THANKS TO YOU LOTS AND LOTS OF STRANGERS !!!!!
I feel you dude. Same thing with me and my dad. When he had a ps2 a looong time ago, my mom got him a racing setup with a wheel and pedals to play granturismo with. I tried it and it went absolutely awfull. Then the ps3 came out and we started playing granturismo together. In the start he was som much quicker than me and I would always struggle with ceeping up with him. Then.. I got faster and faster and faster until I finally could beat him over and over and over again. And he started to crash sometimes and got worse and worse and worse until.. well... he stopped... I didn't know what to do so I played all by my self.. Then in 2020, I got forza horizon 4 and started to play with my friend Philip and got my very own racing setup. A cheap hori racing setup. It was so cool! I always used to race with it! And then I got F1 2021 and it was totally different compered to forza and I sucked at the start but I got faster and faster and faster and then at the end of 2022, I got a thrustmaster fs1000 and it was absolutely insane! The mfd, the turning accuracy and the pedals. It was insane! And after 2 years of hard work. I got within 1 sec to esports! Then I met a friend on assetto corza and we started an F1 23 career mode. Right now we are still in the career mode and i've kinda switched over to assetto corza competizione and i'm still racing till this day. I even got my own go-kart! But despite all my efforts and everything my dad has offered to get me my own go-kart... It doesn't feel the same... I miss our little racing days... Him being young... Me being just a little boy. Now.. he is 51 and I go to secondary school. And after all this... It doesn't feel right... I want it back... But unfortunately... We don't have the ps3 anymore... And the don't sell it longer either... I just wish I could have it back..... It was such an important part of my childhood... Me and him racing... That's what it was all about... And now... It's gone... And I wouldn't be suprised if he missed it to... So i'm gonna thank my dad this last time... You took me to the starting line in last... and i'm gonna cross the dinish line in first... Thank you dad... for the memories... The childhood... For being such a great dad... Thank you❤️...
I remember 2014 when I was playing Minecraft with my friends. My family owned a computer shop back then, and we played Minecraft all day. I still remember the first time we played together. I recall the first redstone mechanism we built, the first pool we made, the time we tried to summon Herobrine (which never worked), the first time we defeated the Ender Dragon, tamed dogs, discovered how to plant on dirt using a hoe, found a desert temple, created a chicken egg factory, a cactus factory, a cobblestone generator, our first "village," our first snowman, and our first Iron Golem. I remember everything! Over the years, the oldest in the group moved away. The second oldest went off to study in college. Another friend also got busy with school. As the youngest, I continued playing Minecraft, but by 2024, I am in college and had a job, so I became too busy and stopped playing. They also started their own families, and we barely see each other now. I don’t want to accept that we might never hang out together again because of the distance, but it seems nearly impossible. I still miss my childhood friends, just like I miss the world we created in the game. If I could turn back time, I would choose to live there forever. Sorry if you had to read this long story. I just miss my friends so much. I just played this game with my innocence, but I never knew it would create such beautiful memories with these people.
Last time I played Minecraft when I was a junior highschool and now I'm a 2nd year college but seeing these Minecraft shorts video make me feel nostalgic
I’ll be honest, I never played Minecraft much, if at all, but watching the player put their stuff away, accompanied by the somber music, made me think of all the games I did play as a kid and loved. It reminded me of the media in general: all the TV shows, movies, playing Overwatch until 5 a.m. and hearing the birds outside as you realize you played way too long. You say goodbye and promise to play with the friends you just made on the game after school, only to one day play with them for the last time without realizing it. It’s sad because, beyond video games, anime, superheroes, and all the stuff I still love, I realize that one day, without knowing, we will do everything for the last time. One day you’ll hug your mom or dad for the last time, watch a sunset for the last time, and experience a million other things all the way down to your last breath. I’m still young, but I’d be lying if I said that doesn’t scare me. It can come at any time, so long story short, cherish the time you have with the people you love, because one day you may never get the chance again. Thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful life. ❤️
This is such great advice and I can relate to your comment very much and thank you for letting me and everyone else who feels like that that they are not alone
The absolute panic, emotional pain, and tears this put me through when I realized what was happening. 😢 I remember one of my friends doing something like this because he wanted to focus on his studies and work, so he had like a week full of playing nostalgic games before packing it all up forever. He passed away in a car crash a couple months later; so I don't know why but the actions of this video made me correlate it with dying, and I started having a panic attack. I don't know why I'm explaining this, maybe I just need to get something off my chest, but either way, this video hits different, and it hits HARD.
Dang bro.. that’s deep., I’m so sorry for your loss of your friend. Many things can sometimes trigger memories of loved ones and I pray that you can calm down soon and recover
@@rustic_russian but also really powerful going through the memories of someone you don't know, things and places that meant the world to a person you haven't met. I think the sheer weight of that kind of experience would be absolutely wonderful and humbling
I’ll never forget my first world, I remember saving up money for weeks to buy minecraft ps3 Edition, i remember booting it up and playing it with my two younger sisters 6 hours straight to the point where me missed dinner. I was a snow mountain type biome, three story house made of dirt. I even tried growing wheat but didn’t know I needed water, I remember grinding to get the beds for me and my sisters, how each time a creeper blew up part of the house we just fixed it with cobblestone. That world ended up getting accidentally deleted while I was getting rid of old and useless worlds that I made to mess around in (I had no sense of naming worlds at 10 years old), but I will never forget the warm memories and fun nights I had in that world
I remember mine. I had just convinced my parents to buy bedrock edition on my tablet after a friend at school told me about it. All I did was the most random shit on that world. I've lost it since tho
I also remember mine it lasted about 3 years I got lost for a whole real life month my brother was trying to help me get back to the main base and I had already made a spruce house in a spruce biome (A biome we never saw in the 2 years we were on that world at the time) I ended up making my way back through the mining tunnels we made since I actidently mined to them while being I think it was 1000 blocks away. That world might still exist on my old laptop a whole 6 or 7 years later but I will never know due to my account being stolen.
It's really surprising how we can cry about a game. It's just a game made of commands, but these commands aren't just commands. They're our memories, they're our feelings, they're our story. Come here bud, let's cry together 🫂
I remember going on a final quest to get another wolf so mine wouldn't be lonely when I left. Massive project to make sure all my farm animals got the pasture they deserved, upgraded all the villager houses, finally fixed the wall I quit building six months ago, and looked upon my creation one last time as I logged out. I hadn't seen that world in six years. Other games came out, became an adult, work takes up my time. This really brought back memories I didn't know I had. I can smell my old room, and hear the old fan of my computer as I played all day and night over summer vacations. Minecraft Hunger Games, bed wars, sky block challenges, wish I was a kid again with all the time in the world to just enjoy the moment.
What’s so weird to me is why quit forever? The last time I played Minecraft was back in maybe 2013-2014 and just last year I came back to and have been having the most fun in my life. I didn’t stop playing it on purpose, it was because we didn’t have an Xbox anymore & couldn’t afford a new one and I couldn’t afford a PC. But now I have a pc and let me tell you, the feelings I had when I logged into my Microsoft account and saw ALL of my old worlds- I started tearing up. Now I’m in a realm with my family and the progress we’re making is awesome ❤️ I don’t think I will ever have a day where I decide to quit Minecraft, only times when I’m forced to stop playing. But I will always come back.
Life moves on, you get older, get responsibilities, goals to achieve, things to do, and you don’t have the time, and even if you do play Minecraft again that childhood innocence can never be reclaimed so enjoy it while you can
@@romeroperez3682you pretty much described me playing old school RuneScape again. That feeling of wonder amazement no longer is there now. Yes it’s fun but it doesn’t have the same appeal of when I was a kid. The innocence of the world, care free and no responsibilities. That was truly wonderful.

Aw man what would i give to tell my past self to save those worlds. But the memories never die i guess.

This is the only thing that makes grown men cry. Having to leave the ones you love behind ;(
This reminded me of something I forgot happened 6-12 years ago.. If I could go back and do it all over again I would
this was beautiful man
Amazing story❤❤❤
So many questions....
Why would it not be easier to relocate to New York instead of China?
@@jeremymanuel5803 new York was extremely expensive. Still is, jobs were hard to get also, I had no family there and her family was strict so I had no one to stay with. China is a bit easier. Many people have gone to China with no degree and taught English, made over 2500$ a month in a country where the minimum wage is 450$ in most places. We didn't pursue it further because she wouldn't come to California, considering she could comfortably restart her life there without the worries I would have had, finding a job, a place to rent etc. It is what it is haha.

Omg, I just shed a tear reading your comment! Beatiful, its so true, Those days will forever be in our hearts!
You are probably the wisest person in this comment section, I bid you good day
This actually made me cry
shut up
I remember going on a final quest to get another wolf so mine wouldn't be lonely when I left.

You never quit minecraft lol not truly
Life moves on, you get older, get responsibilities, goals to achieve, things to do, and you don’t have the time, and even if you do play Minecraft again that childhood innocence can never be reclaimed so enjoy it while you can
@@romeroperez3682you pretty much described me playing old school RuneScape again. That feeling of wonder amazement no longer is there now. Yes it’s fun but it doesn’t have the same appeal of when I was a kid.
The innocence of the world, care free and no responsibilities. That was truly wonderful.
Assim será o final da casa automática!!
@@romeroperez3682yeah, but if you EVER have time, why not hop on if you’d like? Or show your kids if you have them? Or pass it on to nephews, nieces, etc? It’s a built world that you spent time on, why not let it live on?
Why was this so sad, it literally broke my heart in a way
Putting Yourself in your own grave for people to remember you as one of the most advanced players on the server just broke my heart. 💔
