    My Mom always started holiday dinners on the day before.
    When I started helping Mom with those dinners, I also started on the day before. The only things I cooked on the day of the dinners were the things that tasted disgusting, reheated. I started those things just before the dinner. Everything turned out fabulous.
    Thanks, Andy. You gave us a lot of great tips. Please keep them coming.
    Happy holiday to you & yours. I love your videos.

    those beetroot leaves - they go great with dill in a soup.
    Thing is very simple - just sweat onion and garlic, add cut beetroot leaves, and diced potatos. Once they are blanched, pour over some veg stock and cook for ~15min. Add chopped dill and presto - it's pretty much done. Season to taste with salt and pepper, you might also want to add some cream - either to whiten soup, or just a spoonful in your bowl.

    If you boil the roast potatoes in alkali water that will break down their surface even harder so when you toss them they have an even more impressively fluffed up texture for even more crunch.

    I've used cornflour slurry to thicken sauces many time before but I always have this one issue...It's great and thick on a day of making but next day when I heat it up it's soooooo much thinner than the day before...Anyone any ideas why??

    • @tomholloway7566
      @tomholloway7566 Годину тому +1

      The cornflour loses its thickening properties in the fridge, better to thicken the sauce when you reheat for serving

    Can't tell you enough about how much I appreciaate mentioning Coeliacs! Can be really tricky this time of year with shared meals if people don't understand how easy it is for food to be contaminated, and that there are some really simple alternatives out there!

      Exactly!
      Andy was not only cautious about not making his guests sick or having them go home hungry, but he also showed a simple alternative that most of us always keep in our kitchens.

      You can do it this way, it's gluten free this way, but he doesn't thicken it properly. I usually make gravy with "stock" (better then bullion with a packet of gelatin) then add the pan drippings after the meat is done. With bigger proteins that need more resting time, think turkey, make the gravy after resting.

    Kiwi? Your profile says Australia, but then a lot of Kiwis cross the Pond, so... good to have you here!
    Aside, how long have you been in Australia? Because Is think your accent has Australianised. That is why you being Kiwi surprised me, your vowels don't sound Kiwi. I do,hold that our accents are quite similar, but they really differ on the vowels.

    My appeal to every Muslim, my brother or sister, the owner of the channel, I know that it is not my right to comment on your channel, but God is my witness that our circumstances are harsh and forced me to do this. Please forgive me. My brother, there is still a brotherhood of faith. I asked you for a bag of flour. My brother, we women cannot go out among men. There is still a woman with you. My brother, God has honored you. You are men. We are women. We cannot go out or work like you. My brother, where is the brotherhood of faith in your hearts? We are women. There is no brotherhood, no mercy, no compassion, no humanity. And give good tidings to the patient. It is the greatest hope while waiting for what we want. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' How many times I called and talked and tried hard, but no one responded. Oh man, we are with you. My mother ordered us food from the restaurant. More and today. My mother left. Crying. She said, Why are you crying, my mother? She said, My daughter, I ask. God, that I may be honored by death. She said, Why, my mother. She cursed us. She said, "My daughter, today the restaurant owner insulted me. I said, 'Why?' I said, 'How can I be better than people?' I ask God, my daughter. May God gather me. With death alone, a gathering that is better than this humiliation and this humiliation. It is true. I am saying this. It diminishes my value and respect. But, man. I swear to God that I did not say this. I kiss your boots. I am so hungry that my conscience no longer allows me to let you go and ask us for food. I kiss your boots, man, and I ask you by God Almighty and in the Book of God, man, I kiss your boots, man. He has caused us harm, my brother, so that we can buy a kilo of flour and pay the rent. My brother, have mercy on us. He who is in the show will have mercy on you, He who is in the sky. My brother, this is my WhatsApp number: 00967717061469. Whoever can help us, message me on WhatsApp. We will send him the full name. He will transfer us as much as he can. May Allah reward you. Allah knows that my family and I, our house rent is 15 thousand Yemeni riyals per month, and now we owe 45 thousand for 3 months. The owner of the house is one of those people who do not have mercy. By Allah, my brother, he comes every day and humiliates us and talks about us and wants to throw us out of the house and into the street because we were unable to pay him the rent. We will have until the end of the week, and if we pay him, he will swear by Allah that he will throw us out into the street without mercy. See my situation for yourselves. I ask you by Allah, the Living, the Eternal, to help me. By Allah, the Almighty, even at night we cannot sleep from fear. We do not have mattresses or blankets to warm ourselves from the cold. Everything is flooded from the rain, and we have no one but Allah and then you. My brothers, I kiss your boots, don’t turn me away empty-handed. Help us with whatever you can. Is it acceptable to you that we live in this place? We are girls and we have no one. Our father died in a car accident. Consider us your daughters and your honor, and help me with whatever you can. May God reward you with good =>[[}>] ^][;&&&//&..,~~~♡♡~~~♡~~♡~•~•••••~•(・|.}]◤)~♡~♡~;l.i.i.i¡¡.i.i.l.|-.»◇◇~~،،،.،،،،،،-,:/;&;&😭😭💔__«•«••«««♕♕♡«♡««😢🎉🎉.. o(╥﹏╥)o (ง'-̀̀'́)ง ◖⚆ᴥ⚆◗ ◖⚆ᴥ⚆◗ ◖⚆ᴥ⚆◗ ◖⚆ᴥ⚆◗ ヘ(;´Д`ヘ) ◖⚆ᴥ⚆◗ ◖⚆ᴥ⚆◗

    I'm from the UK but I've had lamb from various countries. In fact, I've had New Zealand lamb as my mum used to work for the NZMB UK office. However, despite eating lamb in almost every setting except at a Michelin-starred restaurant, I just can't get to grips with the flavour - I don't like it. I've never had lamb tartare but I've tried lamb burgers, sausages (the Moroccan style ones are passable), chops, shanks, etc. with different vegetables, seasoning, yada yada yada. When I eat lamb, I feel like my stomach doesn't even want to digest it, yet I've never had food poisoning or a bad toilet experience (TMI sorry) eating lamb so it's not that. I don't understand it. Has anyone else had this experience with lamb or another meat? I'm very open minded about food but when someone offers me lamb I say "Thank you but no thank you" every time.

    You must meditate and call upon archangel like a prayer to help you so that all dark or odd times get vanished from your life forever
