Finally a more thorough review of their hive! Question: they feature a green version but in every single video I've watched including theirs it looks more like the body of the backpack is grey and only parts of it and the accessories are actually green. Could not find any details about this so just shooting my shot in case you've got more information....
Hi there! Thank you for your feedback. It's not uncommon for product images and videos to differ slightly from the actual product due to lighting, camera settings, and other factors. The Tropicfeel Hive backpack though is available in three colors- Mulled Green, Core Black, and Walnut Sand, you can visit the brand's official site here: shop.tropicfeel.com/pages/hive-backpack
Hi, awesome review! :) Would this be too big to be considered a personal item for most airlines? I know each airlines has different specifications but in your personal experience have you used it as a personal item or only as a carry on?
Hi there! Thank you for the kind words! To ensure compliance with the airline you'll be traveling with, it's always recommended to check their official website or reach out to their customer service directly. They will provide you with the most accurate information regarding the size and weight restrictions for personal items.
I experienced the same. The spider net isnt really elastic which causes the packing cube to be harder to attach, very annoying because the concept idea is great
The Tropicfeel Gear backpack, particularly the Hive model, features a unique design with elasticated materials that are intended to provide flexibility and expandability. However, the elastic material may have limitations in terms of how much it can stretch and lock when fully loaded with bulky items like multiple t-shirts. If you find that the elastic material on the Hive backpack struggles to lock securely when filled with 2 or 3 t-shirts, it may indicate that the backpack is reaching its capacity limit. Overloading the backpack beyond its intended capacity can result in a less secure fit and may affect the overall functionality of the backpack. It's important to note that backpack capacities are typically stated by manufacturers as the maximum volume the backpack can hold when fully expanded or stretched to its limits. However, it's often best to leave some room for flexibility and not fully max out the capacity, especially when dealing with elastic materials or when you need to access your items easily. If you need to carry multiple t-shirts or other bulky items on a regular basis, you may want to consider a larger backpack with a higher capacity that can comfortably accommodate your needs without putting too much strain on the elastic material. Alternatively, you can consider packing lighter or compressing your items to make them more compact before placing them in the backpack to help ensure a better fit and ease of use. Always refer to the manufacturer's guidelines and recommendations for loading and capacity to ensure that you are using the backpack in the intended manner.
Same, this is why I returned the 12L packing cube and bought their 10L packing cube instead. Kind of annoying that they promise the 12L and I had to buy a different one, however I havent had any problems since.
The Tropicfeel Gear is a versatile travel backpack designed for outdoor and adventure enthusiasts. It is designed to be spacious and capable of holding a significant amount of gear, making it suitable for longer trips or outdoor adventures where you may need to carry a lot of items. The "EDC" (Everyday Carry) concept typically refers to the items that an individual carries with them on a daily basis for their regular activities. This can include items such as keys, wallet, phone, sunglasses, notebook, etc. Depending on your personal preferences and needs, the Tropicfeel Gear backpack may be too large to be considered as an EDC bag, as it is designed to carry a larger volume of gear compared to a typical everyday backpack. However, what may be too big or too small for EDC can vary depending on individual preferences and needs. Some people may prefer a larger backpack for their EDC if they need to carry a lot of items or have specific requirements, while others may prefer a smaller, more compact bag for a minimalistic approach. It ultimately depends on your specific use case, the items you plan to carry on a daily basis, and your personal preferences for size and style. If you are looking for an EDC backpack, it may be helpful to consider the size and capacity of the Tropicfeel Gear backpack in relation to the items you plan to carry on a daily basis. You may also want to compare it with other backpack options to find the one that best fits your needs and preferences. It's always a good idea to check the product specifications and dimensions provided by the manufacturer to get a better understanding of the backpack's size and suitability for your intended use.
