The C8 Corvette has a great uncle in this naked 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT. This mid-engine Fiero GT has been engine swapped with a 3800sc Supercharged L67 with ZZP Stage 2.5 intercooler, ZZP XP camshaft, upgraded heads, Jet-Hot coated ZZP powerlogs, and many more upgrades. It isn't an LS Swap, but it is almost as good and has lots of support. It is on the home stretch for this restoration of GM's mass produced mid-engine car and this engine swap.

Since the body panels are off, people aren’t sure what car it actually is. The top guesses are Toyota MR2, Chevrolet Corvette, and a few people have actually said Mazda Miata MX6.
The Pontiac Fiero competed with the Toyota MR2. The original MR2 was squared off, but the 2nd generation MR2 looks like it took cues from the Fastback Fiero GT. The 2020 and 2021 Corvette C8 have a similar mid-engine layout and the front trunk and rear trunk are in close to the same location.

I have been wanting to do mine on my Fiero's.
I had an 87 Fiero GT almost 20 years ago. I didn't have the money or the mechanic skills to properly address anything, but one of the things I wanted to do was swap a V8 into it. However, putting a SC 3800 in there is such a fantastic compromise. Very cool car, I loved it (mine was a 5 speed), but I don't think it would be very comfortable to drive for me anymore, I've always been tall (6'4) but the difference in getting in and out of little and/or low riding cars between age 21 and age 40 is huge LOL

I changed my speakers a couple of years back and when I reinstalled the speaker covers I pushed them about half way back in so if I ever need to open it back up it would be easier and safer not to break them. P.s.: I luv your car 😉

I have a front speaker rattling and I think that means it's blown possibly... Kinda scared taking cover off because years ago I broke one lol
