Community Emersion Part I: Mangyan Tribe Bulalacao/ Shelogurl

Reaching the Unreached and the Isolated. Department of Social Welfare and Development- Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program Conducted a one day activity in Observance of the National Indigenous Peoples Day, International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, and National Indigenous Peoples Month 2021. With this a simple celebration is provided such as info drive about their rights and privileges, literacy session, games, feeding and giving of small tokens to the households of Sitio Waring Barangay Benli, Bulalacao Oriental Mindoro.
We walk almost 2 hours to reach their community. The road is steep and rocky and we need to cross the rivers to reach that place. We can see the joy in their faces as they see our presense. The people their are very accomodating ang friendly.
There is no source of electricity in that place. Community People is using "Gasera" Paraffin Lamps at night to give them light. I am hoping there are people who have much who can donate solar lamp to the community. It is a big help to the students when they are studying their lessons and accomplishing their assignment and module at night
