Out of all the Mario games, SML2 is the one I have the most respect for. The entire premise and setting of the game stands out so much from all the other games in such wonderful ways. There's no peach needing to be saved from Bowser, the plot is entirely different involving a new character with the goal being much more personal. There's no generic grass world, desert world, water world etc. You get to go through inside a giant turtle, you go through a normal house but now you're tiny, you go inside a giant mechanical mario and the literal fucking moon before it was cool. The worlds setting are just much cooler, such a shame we never got anything like that again, odyssey being the closest there is.
Heh, my first favourite Mario Game. I figured Mario Land was gifted to Mario by Peach for rescuing her, and it's a bit strange to see Tatanga working for Mario at first, the bad guy from the first Mario Game. This is really great, awesome job mate.
@@mattwo7 maybe luke meant it's confusing Tatanga is with Mario in this cartoon specifically, not the game. Admittingly i take it loose and fast with the characterization and events here and ignore this game's meant to be right after mario land 1.
I don't think any insurance company will cover "Deliberate destruction of one's own domicile with mecha shaped like one's self". Peach's might be though, however she'll have one hell of a deductible to pay later.
Mario used to work for a construction crew, sorry, krew. He might be able to pull a few strings to get his castle back and running. Well, or not, since we never see his kingdom ever again in the series. I like to think Wario bought up Mario's kingdom with the money he got from his games, just to be a dick.
I'm almost surprised that you managed to do a pixel art and.. well I don't know what the opposite of pixel art would be called, yet you made it not clash. Pretty nice honestly!

Well Wario _did_ brainwash the inhabitants of Mario Land to fight Mario so it's implied that Tatanga was one of them.
