Word is now that Burnes will have a No-Trade clause through the first two years of his deal. Should he 'Opt-In' to the remainder of the contract after the 2026 season, Burnes can create a 14-team 'No-Trade List' meaning the DBacks would need his approval for a trade to one of those organizations. There is also reported 'significant' deferrals, in the same vein as the Greinke contract years ago. Will post the total $ figures when finalized
Exactly. He turned down more money to go to Arizona, where he and his family lives. And nobody should sleep on the Diamondbacks … that rotation now is exceptional.
Strange off-season. Juan Soto leaves one New York team to sign with another. Pete Alonso and Anthony Santander still unsigned. Nolan Arenado turns down a trade to Houston yet Christian Walker opts to go there, while Corbin Burnes selects Arizona.
@@Frankieefootballmundial Indeed. And Buehler only on a one year deal. Would have thought a pitcher of his experience and past success would have received more of a commitment than that.
@Elephant2024 Despite showing up when it mattered most, he did have a rough early part of the season coming off another major injury. As great as Buehler is he still is kind of a question mark so a one year prove it deal isn't bad.
@Frankieefootballmundial Yankees have made some decent moves and will be better defensively and should have a better starting pitcher rotation. Losing a one dimensional player isn't that big of a deal.
This is to much money-im priced out of basement the rockies aren't a real baseball team anyways only in the beginning even their cookie cutter fans know it
I think it is a solid signing. Burnes was looking for 8 years, AZ gave him 6. He’s a legit ace to pair with Gallen, et. al. That is going to be a strong rotation. Do I worry that the backend of the contract might not age well … sure. But I see no reason why Burnes won’t be legit for 3 - 4 years at least.
If any pitcher in this market is “worth it,” it is Burnes. I will see how it plays out. But (and I’m not a D-Back fan) I love AZ’s rotation. And I’d roll with that in ‘25. Beyond ‘25, .. yeah, it could get interesting.
I kind of get what your getting at here.. I'm relatively new to the game overall. But I don't see how a pitcher gets this . Personally he seems to be injured and controlled a lot. I don't see how he gets them over the top on any stance. Pitchers from what I've seen have random years, in our generation.

He lives in AZ. Not surprising at all
Makes sense. Good signing

It's not shocking that he wanted them, its shocking that the Dbacks went after him. But also great

Walker buhler signs with Boston is a surprised and jack flaherty still unsigned

Baltimore, Toronto,SF, and Arizona… so Burnes has to choose between AL East and NL West. Both are tough divisions to play in😅.
Not a shocker. Burnes lives in Scottsdale and wanted to go home every night to his family during the season. Good for him.
There is a no trade clause for the first two years.
Need Ryan Helsley now
My padres are COOKED
Jusy the beginning for the padres… about to loose a bunch of players fire sale coming… its about to get rough over there
Try being a giants fan it’s worse
The Yankees are already cooked soto sign with the Mets, the redsox sign walker buhler and now Corbin burnes signs with the diamondbacks

@@blakeloh but are they a complete team to win the World Series
The best pitchers in the market is Sasaki ! Burned a bit overrated, you look at his era and stuff nahhh
No one picked up on it because all of you MLB insiders are clueless and overpaid just like the players.
I like what you said there they swore max fried Corbin burnes Juan Soto Willy Adames we’re all going to be dodgers 😂 they don’t know shit
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Why 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Buster posey is bad at his job giants gonna be battling with the Rockies for last place 🗑️
Yeah … I’m not sure what Buster is doing. He seems like he’s “half in / half out.” He needs to decide if he’s going for it or he’s rebuilding.
Big mistake by the Diamondbacks. No pitcher is worth that kind of money.

I will also add stats for pitchers seem very erratic as a new brain. I don't think it's worth it we will see. I do love it I agree
@@WCoolidge45 Burnes has been about as steady and reliable as any pitcher for four straight years - since he became a full time starter.
