I am definitely putting it on the list. And thank you guys for being so open and positive in your travels. Only started recently watching your adventures and felt compelled to comment. I know you both have had your own health issues recently so I am wishing you good health, lots of travel and many more adventures (but plenty of time for yourselves too!)

In regards to video length, I think offering a mix is good. I just want to say appreciate any video you take the time to make. Like many other people commenting here, you give inspiration to those of us on a tight budget and for those that can't visit the country for one reason or another, you show us around the real places rather than the more touristy. It's exactly the way I travel when I can and even if I won the lottery, I'd still want to spend at least 90% of my travels getting to know the life of the real people and day to day living and eating. I find your videos very inspiring and I saw the post saying that you were looking at stopping or cutting down because you don't get so many views. I can imagine it's so much work to put them together 😕 If you haven't done something similar already, how about some shorts that are like a series of pictures showing all the places you ate on a trip and then show the cost? Like one image flashing up after the other picture of food, cost in different currencies. Another for hotels, public transport journeys etc That could get some viewers in to watch the whole video as you can link it and promote it with an image at the end of the short too. Maybe also a summary video of everything you spent on a trip, detailing every cost each day and showing the sum and average per day. Rather than doing a lot of time consuming editing on it, it could just a screen share showing the figures or livestream where you wrap up how everything went on the trip I hope this message finds you both well wherever you are at the moment xxx

@@FrugalTravellers you're such a sweety Mandy! Thanks for your reply. It's great news about the India series doing well 🙂 Sometimes I think it's hard to know. From my experience of India for sure I can imagine locals being curious about what you think of their city/country! I've had to do some UA-cam tasks at my work and I'm not an expert, but I've seen that aside from an eye-catching thumbnail and title, the words you add in the description should help. If you write a text that describes generally what you do and add in keywords that people would type into the search field like budget backpack traveling, travelling on a budget, around the world travel, cheapest destinations etc etc. You can make into more of a list and use it on every video like a template. Then on each video you could add things into the text like cheapest restaurants in Mumbai. You could have the description you want to write and then as always we will show you the cheapest places to eat in Mumbai, the best value hotels, most interesting places to visit etc etc. I believe these words work differently on the algorithm to hashtags and the main tags you put in the description should also be in your tags in the UA-cam video setting. I don't think people really read the description so it's more for algorithms to read so that your video shows up on UA-cam and also on Google search results. Adding in some video highlights at the beginning can improve audience retention which helps the algorithm to know people are not only watching the first few minutes but are interested to watch the whole video so it must be worth recommending. If there's a highlight they are interested in, they will hopefully watch more of the video, especially if it has a cliffhanger in it If there are a lot of comments this also can help so you could ask near the beginning of your videos, have you been here, what did you think, do you have any places to recommend, tell us in the comments. I really hope you will do the videos with the breakdown of costs and averages at the end of a trip. I think that will be really great and I'm not sure everyone does that. If it's something you keep track of, you could even do videos showing your expenses for the year. I think people like this kind of info to know for their own budget or simply to be nosey! 😀 Maybe a video like our favourite place we travelled and how much it cost I also think your story is very unique and for new viewers it's a pity they won't always discover that so I think mentioning at the beginning, we're Mandy and Lee and we've been together since xx years old and we've been travelling xx years together. It's less common so it sets you apart for the other travel videos.
