I came down from the hill on my hike today and started hearing toads. This really is one of the best sounds anyone can hear, especially in person! #newengland #naturesounds #peeptoads
My husband (married 43 years this June) and I live on the edge of a nature preserve in central Florida. During the rainy season, it sounds just like this but we also hear large toads too. We have seen bobcats, raccoons, rabbits, snakes , squirrels, deer, squirrels, possums, wild pigs and big and small lizards and skinks. Some have seen bears, but we haven’t yet. When the frogs’ population explodes after a wet spell, we often have to fish them out of our screened-in pool. We almost lost our home here when my husband nearly died and then had to have five surgeries. His employer fired him even though he offered to work from home on recovery days. The Lord took care of us and now he has an even better job, but we became deeply in debt from his being without work for almost a whole year. We are very blessed and grateful. May the only Living God bless you and your families. 🙏🙏🏽🙏🏼
I’m 75 years old and have been hearing these sounds all my life but I never grow tired of it. All I have to do to hear this song is step out in my back yard especially after a rain. By the way, I live in East Texas. 😊
We live in east Texas too south of Kilgore, east of Tyler. We have lived here 35 years in this 112 yr. old house. We have a goldfish pond that was built in the 1920’s and every spring we have thousands of peepers. We love to sleep to the sound of these beautiful little green frogs. I wish we could hear them all year.
I had toads/frogs in a puddle by my house that laid tadpoles and it was drying up, I added water and kept adding water, then fed them and put up bird deterrents and on and on. Did this for years. Raised thousands over several years. Different species come at different times of the year. Tree frogs were always last. The puddle stopped holding water for some reason so I haven’t done it in awhile. I am going to dig it and put in a liner and try to create an environment again. I loved doing it and loved the sound. Thanks for posting.
The songs of the first frogs of spring calling to their prospective mates is one of my favourites. With my bedroom window open, I would fall asleep to the relaxing sounds of the Spring Peepers a kilometre away. Hundreds of kilometres and several decades haven’t dulled my enthusiasm for the tiny croakers. 🇨🇦🐸🇨🇦
@@cecileroy557 I think it’s a common name. Where you located? I’m in southeastern Ontario now, but was way up north until the late 80’s. 800km from where I live now, but there’s Peepers, Leopard Frogs and Bull Frogs in the wetland by the river near my house. I sit on my deck and listen to the chorus and swat mosquitoes! Did a frog survey for the Canadian Nature Federation in the 90’s when they noticed the conspicuous drop in numbers. Our croaking friends are in danger … from us! 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦
My mom hated frogs so when we heard the frog's call we naturally went and found them to take them home as a gift for mom! That was back in the '70's! My mom has since passed on, so when I hear them now, I take a moment to recollect, smile and tell my mom how much I miss and love her! Cherished moments!
Grew up in the country, bought part of my parents property because I’ve always loved it there. When an evening shower comes during the summer, the frogs and crickets are so loud but it calms you. When I was on deployments I knew that if anything happened I had told my parents that I wanted them to scatter my ashes in the woods and any place they visited that was calm as well as where I’m building my house at now. My wife knows to do the same. Something about the untainted woods has always been where my heart lies.
We call them Spring Peepers here in Atlantic Canada and they are, hands down, my favourite sound in the world! As you say, a true sign that spring is finally here. It’s also a good sign for the health of whatever wetland they are occupying. Thanks for posting this
They’re called Spring Peepers in Ontario too. My fave sound to fall asleep to … hundreds of horny amphibians looking for love! That’s what spring is all about,eh?! 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦
I'm in Pennsylvania and we always called them spring peepers too. When I was a kid we had a little creek running in front of our house, and our next-door neighbor's horses had created a big mucked-up area that would get standing water after a rain. Boy did the peepers ever love that spot... they were always very plentiful and LOUD. But it was the kind of noise that didn't bother you, in fact it was actually an enjoyable and soothing backdrop to our spring evenings. Ah, memories..... 🤗 (I'm now in my mid-50s and living in the suburbs.)
Without even waiting to the end, it sounds like a hoard of tree frogs. The same sound right by my house in the spring, here in Alberta, Canada. Enjoy the natural peace...
Woww, the most beautiful symphony, a perfect harmony, a breathtaking melody. Thousands thanks 💙 All my life I've lived either in the middle of the forest or in a farmhouse in the country or in the wilderness in an urban suburb. These sounds were omnipresent. Sadly, I had to leave these wonderful spaces to move to the city 5 years ago. Thanks to you, I've been able to close my eyes and imagine myself in one of those places I love so much. I don't know you, it's the UA-cam algorithm that suggested your video, the title attracted me, without knowing what I was going to hear, I had confidence, it could have been kittens meowing, I would have smiled. I didn't expect it to be so divine, enchanting, heavenly, sensational .... It's sincerely the sounds I prefer above all others with that of the loons calling. What's more, I'm still in winter at home, I live in Quebec, there's still snow. Hearing this melody from another season reminds me that summer is coming soon. And it's my birthday today lollll 🥳 A real gift, thanks again 💙
I heard this last night in my backyard and tried to get a closer look but as I approached they got quieter and then continued as I walked past , next I’m waiting on the blue ghost fireflies . You gotta love nature 🦉
I absolutely love the sound of peepers and I can hear them right out of my house as well. And it always makes me very happy because I know spring is really here!
Anyone living in the south can identify with this, and what's even better is when the bullfrogs chime in to add a little bass nature's symphony! Priceless!
I love this! Absolutely love it! I could just sleep right there! Suchna peaceful sound! They can keep all their "rock and roll music" I'd rather listen to this!
This always puts me at a place of peace. Thank you for sharing true nature sounds. Its greatly appreciated with respect. Happy Mothers Day to all out there!!
Peepers as we call them. Grew up hearing them and still look forward to their songs every Spring. No matter my mood, they instantly lift me and bring a smile to my face. Love this sound. And when accompanied by a light show of fireflies ... ♡
Spring peepers are always the earliest chorus frogs to start sounding off. It tell me winter is finally over and new life is starting anew. Love listening to them each spring.
Back in the early 90’s, my grandma in New Hampshire would record the peepers in her backyard in spring and send us the tapes in Virginia to listen to as we fell asleep. To this day, listening to peepers has an instantly calming effect. Thanks for sending me back to childhood for a moment!
Hello from Oklahoma! I have a creek on the back side of my place. It sounds like this every spring. When it gets a bit warmer, the bull frogs join in. Thanks for the Video!
Oh my Lord, thank you for your creations. This is the sound I long for every year. I wait for this sound so I can have the most restful sleep. I can barely wait for it to come full force!! ❤❤❤
I love it! This reminds me of growing up in Monument, Colorado. Every spring and summer night, I loved listening to the bullfrogs singing their amazing songs.
I hear this everyday until it gets cold, when it gets cold the frogs stop singing and the silence is deafening. We are blessed to live in the country surrounded by nature.
The sounds of my childhood in upstate NY.... sweet magical memories ... going for adventures up in the woods and streams... catching crawfish, salamanders and frogs ... then letting them go again.❤🐸 🦞 🦎❤ 😊thank you ❤
I'm 51 and lived in New England my whole life. I feel so lucky to have been born and raised where I witness all 4 seasons, go skiing and to the beach in one day, and have so much history from hundreds of years ago around me. THANK YOU for sharing the sounds that bring back so many memories of falling asleep at my grandparents house, who lived in a very woodsy area and a pond nearby. 🫶🫶
I was visiting in a heavily wooded campground in northern Arkansas several yrs ago. The tree frogs were so numerous and their song so loud we couldn't even play music or have a conversation. Amazing.
My family gets to luckily hear peep toads in early spring and when the temps are warm enough, these insects at a pond in woods outside our neighborhood, hum overnight and you can hear it while sleeping and it’s heavenly and you marvel at how they do this. We are close to the Delaware River.
I live in the south and I love hearing the frogs because I know spring is on the way! I live on a farm and sometimes it seems like we are surrounded by them. I love it!

Me and some friends from work went to one person's family property in Slaughters, Kentucky on their lake. Another 1948 here, same as I, we had our own pond on our property, windows open at night, and falling asleep to that sound.

I remember sitting out in the back yard at my mom’s house after dark and listening to this same sound.
God Bless our Republic of Texas
Same here? A big slew behind my house . West Central Louisiana. Real life here is way louder than the video.
Lived in the country my entire life and this is natures chorus.
BEST SOUNDS EVER!
Sounds like dinner.
I was hoping for bigfoot
The sound of the frogs as the weather warms in the spring is better than any antidepressant.
A glass of wine, my front porch, and this sound on a nice spring evening is the best therapy in the world
AGREED ❤
Agree
