Audio starts at 1:00 8). Actual gameplay starts near the 15:00 mark 8) audio cuts out briefly during the video when i hit a function key that opens the map AND turns off my microphone 8)
ASCII is always appreciated as I enjoy really old school Roguelikes on occasion, even though I'm not all that old, but I understand folks who see it and get confused.
I feel like ascii is a lot less confusing than the "graphics" at least you know what youre looking at.

only found this game recently. played a run. funny as I hacked into dsl? not sure what it was but when i netered i found it was a top secret storage. I was like oh im a newb. but i like istacked huge sorage unit with lots of spare armours. so i had armour and tons of rocket launchers. so I liek defeated the turrent and sentries and traps. and then fucking ai like oh persisetn threat detected. strerilsing. so like heat goes up each turn. but the funny thing is i was like I havent even looted yet. oh theirs some top heat seeks in storage. thx. then took my time getting rich and then leaving. haha

I'm one of the weird people who prefer ASCII. The wrath of Vorm frightens me not.
Eh, there's more of us than you might think. Declaring yourself a roguelike and not including an ASCII mode is an invitation to get a wedgie in the RL community.

a reminder - I didn't make this video for HERE (which is true of 99.99% of my UA-cam videos). I don't specifically create videos for UA-cam and don't plan/script/curate/fold/spindle/mutilate my content with that in mind (for better or worse). I am primarily a TWITCH LIVE-STREAMER who just happens to take the time to chop/butcher that content up and send it here for people to watch in one hour nuggets (or not, as they desire). I haven't played this game in awhile and have accrued many new followers on Twitch that have never seen the game. Explaining the general mechanics to THEM (and answering the direct questions i get during the LIVE-STREAM) both rekindles/reinforces my own memory and understanding as well as informing people new to the game on both sides. Those few folks who watch after the fact on UA-cam and already happen to know the stuff can just make the massive effort of clicking a mouse button to fast forward past the boring talkie bits or wait for the next run where I will, hopefully, concentrate more on playing and less on explaining.
