What IS nice is when you can have debates with other believers about open-handed stuff! i find myself doing this sometimes in youtube comment sections, and it wasnt until recent when i realized the person i was trying to get to understand my view on lgbtq+ persons wasn’t grasping. and instead took it as bait to make me look like a bad guy. saying things like “oh, do you force this in your friends brains? do you constantly tell them you disapprove them being gay?” “why are you trying to force your religion on me?” for context: i stated in a comment that i dont agree with the lifestyle choices of being gay/trans. instead, show that i can love someone no matter their path in life and just not agree with the actions they choose. and said person disliked this and proceeded to put words in my mouth that i had never previously stated. and when i explained to them why i believe such, they told me to “stop shoving my religion in their face” even though i did no such thing and instead *shared my view, as they requested.* in the end, i accepted the fact i couldn’t get through with simple talk, wished them a blessed day, and moved on. instead of arguing just to argue, i: 1. shared a opinion 2. responded to a confused person 3. shared why i have my opinion 4. ended the discussion as soon as things started going downhill for us and my mindset i do *not* hate gay people, i know this, and so do other people who are within that understanding area of religion. i will gladly form a friendship with a lgtbq person, despite our obvious differences i wont exclude nor judge, as that is *not* my job to do. “hate the sin, not the sinner.”

i find myself doing this sometimes in youtube comment sections, and it wasnt until recent when i realized the person i was trying to get to understand my view on lgbtq+ persons wasn’t grasping. and instead took it as bait to make me look like a bad guy. saying things like “oh, do you force this in your friends brains? do you constantly tell them you disapprove them being gay?” “why are you trying to force your religion on me?”
for context: i stated in a comment that i dont agree with the lifestyle choices of being gay/trans. instead, show that i can love someone no matter their path in life and just not agree with the actions they choose. and said person disliked this and proceeded to put words in my mouth that i had never previously stated. and when i explained to them why i believe such, they told me to “stop shoving my religion in their face” even though i did no such thing and instead *shared my view, as they requested.*
in the end, i accepted the fact i couldn’t get through with simple talk, wished them a blessed day, and moved on. instead of arguing just to argue, i:
1. shared a opinion
2. responded to a confused person
3. shared why i have my opinion
4. ended the discussion as soon as things started going downhill for us and my mindset
i do *not* hate gay people, i know this, and so do other people who are within that understanding area of religion.
i will gladly form a friendship with a lgtbq person, despite our obvious differences
