Camping is an outdoor activity involving overnight stays away from home in a shelter, such as a tent or a caravan.Generally participants leave developed areas to spend time outdoors in nature in pursuit of activities providing them enjoyment.
Modern campers frequent natural parks, beaches, wilderness areas, and commercial campgrounds. Camping is a key part of many youth organizations around the world, such as Scouting, which use it to teach both self-reliance and teamwork.
All beaches, seas, mountains, forests, rivers, of this world belong to all of us the mankind. The goal is to teach each other the Love, the Respect and Protection of Nature. For freely travelling with our favorite people, our best friends and our lovers, protecting and cleaning the forests and beaches, enjoying life sometimes without clothing…
GUIDE for free and responsible Camping:
How do we coexist harmoniously with other campers, local residents and nature itself? It is important for campers to learn living together by following, at least, some common rules and habits: We park our cars & bikes away from the beach and we do not obstruct the access to public. We use bags for rubbish, including tissues as animals dig them out. We gather all our rubbish and any extra we find. Wear a plastic bag in your hand in order to make the process less uncomfortable. Determine where the “toilet” is and dig holes at least 30 cm each time or cover them with sand or soil. Instead of toilet paper we use water from the sea in a plastic bottle. We avoid the use of any shampoo and soap, in the water because they pollute the sea, lake or river. We are ready to understand the specific circumstances of the place where we are and to protect it with our presence. We respect the flora and fauna of the region according to the natural conditions. For example, in areas where the sea turtles lay their eggs, the fire can disorient them and their new born, or in areas of dense vegetation fire is very dangerous and forbidden. We have the tent several meters from the waves so we do not obstruct the other campers but mainly not to disturb crabs, turtles, birds. The insects are the residents of the area, we are the guests. We avoid insects with natural repellents, and by keeping the tent zipped closed all day. We do not consider the spot we are staying in as our property, we do not create conditions for permanent settlement. We offer, share, meet each other and create, to the desired extent, conditions of collective living with the other campers. Leave the forest or the beach as found, and if possible, much better.

You said it well, ''the NEW right goverment'', because the govermentS before were absolutely right also...
@@SoDaSenior You are RIGHT! This has been a continuous hypocrisy from all political parties. Actually every human being should have the right to live outdoors in a tent. But under strict regulations, including fines and punishment regarding littering, light a fire etc.

Glad you liked it, greetings from Greece 🇬🇷 🏖️
Definitely yesss!!!

Interesting information
Glad you think so!
Thanks for sharing!!!!

I'm thinking about solo camping in Greece for years now. All i need is the sea, the sky, the sand... i'm such a hippie but that's how i feel. I love nature, peace, and quiet. I could be all alone for weeks, without electricity, without a bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, without all modern conveniences. But i never camped like this before. Especially outside camps. I don't like them, they cost as much as the apartments, and what's the point of camping when we are surrounded by some fence. Camping is about freedom and wild nature. So what should i do? Can i just come to one of these places, put up my tent anywhere i want, and stay there as long as i want? Is it that simple? What are some unwritten rules? Also i plan to travel a lot, from beach to beach, so is it safe (and legal) for me to camp all alone for a night anywhere i want? Like, just go in some bushes by sea and camp there for a day? This kind of traveling seems perfect for me, but i'm kinda scared going in to unknown, so any tip would be very appreciated.
Dear friend, thanks for sharing your thoughts. There is a law in Greece that prohibits free camping and there are fines against violation. The new Government of Greece is taking measures now to enforce the law again, after 10 years of financial crisis and the consequent increase of the free camping option of vacation locally. But still, there are a few remote places that are almost a "safe" risk. Gavdos island (ua-cam.com/video/Bt-fchU3LBw/v-deo.html) for instance or Kato Koufonissi island (ua-cam.com/video/gDxFu92XsSU/v-deo.html). There are also some beaches at the southern coast of Crete island.
Select your location and investigate the place. It is better to find a place with at least 2 more people camping. Talk to them and ask them about the locals' and the authorities tolerance etc, if everything is fine. Never light a fire and leave the beach with less garbage and plastic than you found it at first.
I hope above info was helpful
Great video. Needs some update I believe ...

Thank you 👍
Anyone know any good spots for wild camping in Pelion please? :)
Guruji, great video! Can you reveal some (almost) deserted beaches for camping in continental Greece?
Thanks Alex! Kuruta beach in northwestern peloponnese (Zacharo area) is huge with deserted spots for free camping. Another choice could be Preveza region (Loutsa & Parga area) in central west continental Greece. Numerous little isolated gulfs and beaches for free camping. Search on google maps for exact spots & road access
@@TourismosTravelGuru Thanks. Next week I will try Preveza and continuing with Lefkada.
I would like to travel Greece in December. I know it won't be sunny beachy but will camping still be possible? Or would I stick out like a sore thumb?
The most important factor is the weather, not much the sunshine but the wind and the sea waves. Some beach shores are almost swallowed by the waves during windy days. This can be really dangerous.
Free Camping in general is illegal in Greece, although part of the authorities and the locals are tolerant. You can imagine that it is much more safe (under every aspect) not to go in the middle of nowhere all by yourself and camp or light a fire.
Besides this general rule and the weather conditions, we are free spirits and can determine our risky lifestyle! In Crete for instance you could ask some locals if it is ok to camp in a remote beach and have an alternative in case of strong wind.
Also there are some all year long campings by the beach or even at the mainland (Meteora / Central Greece).
Here is a link with greek campings:
en.camping.info/greece
My ultimate advice, depending on how flexible you are, is to visit your destination, check the conditions on site, talk to people and get info, ask if necessary any pemitions and explore alternatives AND ACT! Like a Free Spirit & Soul!
PS: I have never heard of anyone experiencing free camping in greece and get serious problems. Hope above info was helpful 😊
Why would someone want to be dirty all day long under the sun and sleep over the sand and pebbles...???

Thank you sharing your thoughts. I acknowledge that you have a point, but the majority of people cannot stand sleeping in nature, or walking far until the find the isolated spot. For those not respecting the rules, the community of naturists and campers should intervene, for the shake of good order.
Besides, there are some young people who adore nature, really respect our natural environment and would like to have this minimum info in order to explore their inner selves through this naturist experience.
@@TourismosTravelGuru in greece is different and the excamples that prove what am saying all over our eyes!some places should stay untouched!
