Love your gear and short video series.
Quick question: I’ven been using your reels for river sturgeon fishing off a boat, but am planning on getting a reel for shore fishing for sturgeon. Generally, our locally caught sturgeons measure up to 9ft, I’ve caught 10 footers, and know of 12footers. The average fish is 5-7ft long. They’re big, and have long runs. What would be your recommendation for a reel? Thanks!

Is the Boss Fury’s gears made of the same material as the ATD Platinum? I love the ATD’s, but I am looking for something to use a bit harder.

For the money these reels put out a lot of power. We have landed bluefins up to 150 lbs on the FX2-600 no problem and they are ready for the next one. Remember the gears in the ATD are a little stouter due to the drag settings but for daily regular fishing conditions the Fury works well.

800 valiant 6 to 1 gear ratio? did i miss understand that? i would love an 800n 6 to 1- (2 speed.)

It can be done but they are not offered that way. It would be a 6.1:1 and 3.1:1 2-speed gearing. We do not have much request for the 6.1 in that diameter of reel. Please contact Al in service at 951-479-0909 and he can answer any question or help you with this matter.

Maybe accurate is best, on shimano, daiwa. Because they are lightweight

To choose a reel is all about what features you are looking for. All mfrs have their positives. It all depends all gathering the data for features that fit your needs and picking the right one. Appreciate the feedback.
