I see a lot of negative comments. Maybe we’ve just been blessed but Jeep, Dodge and Ram we’ve had zero issues. I have a 2019 Grand no problems and a 2000 Dodge Ram (237,000 miles) no problems (and no rust which is unusual). Wife has a 2023 Compass and we love it. We also have owned two 2000 Jeep Cherokees and that inline 6 was dang near bulletproof!
Yeah same. KIA sportage never an issue but people have tons of issues
I have a 2020 compass, do you know how to set the car alarm to where if a handle is tried to open it will sound off???
I can tell most of the comments are Toyota fan boys.
Next door neighbor has a Jeep SUV, and I've seen loaner SUV's in his driveway many many times.
I have had a Jeep Compass 2021 model (80th year anniversary). Sold it last year and bought a new SsangYong Torres. Forget about Compass. I am very happy with Torres..
Everything commented about the power train is history. There is a new 2.0 turbo with a different 8 speed automatic that is much better for the 2023 model year across all trim levels. The FWD model is history - they all get 4WD (AWD) now. Also, Consumer Reports assumes a poor reliability ranking for the Compass - they don't have enough reader surveys to actually show what's reliable or not about it. They have the disclaimer they base it on other Jeep models reliability scores.
AND ONLY ASK SUBSCRIBERS. WHO IS PAYING CONSUMER REPORTS TO TELL THEM TO NOT BUY A CHRYSLER, THEN BUY A CHRYSLER. lol. Fluke data.
Have you had a good experience with the 2023 compass jeff? Im considering one
@@Jack_Hunt Unfortunately I had to pass on it. I'm tall with long legs and it was just too cramped in the driver's seat. I really liked the look of the interior though.
But what about the 1.3 Turbo engine? Someone knows something about it? I am about to buy one this week!!! Actually I did the first payment, and I think I am on time to quit and claim refund.
@leobelcarmona7307 i have a fully loaded 2023 Jeep Compass Trailhawk. It's awesome.
Thank you for your honesty ❤
Eh, I had a jeep cj and it taught me everything about auto mechanics. A repair on something every week. But it was awesome off road!
If you change the fluids and take good care of it itll last to 200,000 plus
Nope. My 2020 is proof. Failed engine at 52k
More like 20,000 🤣
bro that's the biggest bullshit I've read all year.
Maybe if it wasn’t made cheaply or deigned by Fiat/Chrysler then it would have been fine. But since the combine meant of the two dealers jeep has been struggling.
as a mopar tech, stay away from the 2.4 multiair platform
What are your thoughts on the 1.3L I4 Turbo engine that’s found on the Jeep Renegade?
Cody - New engine and new transmission for 2023.
My 2021 compass just crapped out on me... It's stuck in gear and lights are on that it's moving and it's not... Can't seem to find a video that could assist... I need to upgrade. Absolutely ridiculous in under 2 years it's crapped out. Do not get the 21 compass...
Excellent ❤
A Chrysler product with bad reliability?! Noooo
Have a 2021 Compass with 62k miles. Its having misfire issues with no codes thrown and so far two shops not able to find the issue. No nothing about cars and have no idea what to do.
the 2023 has a 2.0L turbo 8spd 4x4 update your info
You’re the best reviewer! Period. ❤
For 2024 they are doing a lot of changes - out goes the motor AND transmission (BMW - ZF - design actually) - both of which were the core of it being both underpowered and "gear confused". The new motor is a 2.0L turbo that gets better gas mileage and power that is much more in its proper powerband. The transmission moves to a real 8 speed from Hyundai - which gets extremely good reviews (many people felt they would stick with the 9 speed with the OD deactivated, but it has been just a poor performer and client dis-satisfier). They say a night and day improvement.
I have one and I am happy.
The 2023 Compass has a new 2.0 L 4cyl turbo, new 8 speed automatic and standard 4wd. That corrects a lot of the issues, plus it has a brand new interior as of last year's model. Unless someone is looking at used, I find your report misleading.
It’s because the compass is so under powered. We were downgrading from a Durango RT into something smaller. The compass was our first pick and we loved the interior and infotainment. My wife didn’t even get a block away from the dealership on the test drive before we turned around and walked away.
Like PACKARD use to say..ask the man who owns one.
Hewlett-Packard?
They charge way too much for it in the UK. And with Fiat mechanicals they can’t justify it. Shame really, as it’s quite a smart looking thing.
Number 1.) what FIAT mechanicals ? 2.) if it did have them , what’s wrong with FIAT mechanicals ?
FCA has never been associated with quality or reliability. Take away the Jeep name and sales will plummet imo.
I think he’s trying to make this look better than it is
Ive heard awful things about the 2016-2018 compass in particular. However, ive heard a lot of good thjngs about the 2023 redesign
it sucks, that’s why. 181hp to haul 4300 pounds alone will obviously wreck the engine in the long run
It has a 2023 has a 2.0L turbo 8spd 4x4 and 200 horsepower now
Have a 2008 jeep compass so far it's the wheel bearing and the Abs
I have 2019 compass and i hate it
Had a 2018 it was awful no power and tons of issues
No issues after 100,000 miles

You don’t know compass.
That segment can disappear for all I care. Subcompact SUVs offer nothing over compact SUVs. They don't even get better fuel economy. AWD compass gets 25 average. RAV4 awd 28, Escape awd 28, CR-V awd 29, Rogue awd 31.
I don't understand how anyone would sacrifice the interior space, the cargo space, the fuel economy, not to mention the safety ratings to save....a whopping $3k off the new price.
Stupid segment that shouldn't exist.
The current generation is a halfway decent rental vehicle. Definitely wouldn’t want to buy one. Wouldn’t turn it down if I got one for a week from Hertz, Enterprise, etc.
That Jeep is way more reliable than any toyota products. Stop hating dude.
this hunk of junk more reliable than a toyota? lmfao. is this why these are constantly sitting in workshops while i barely see toyotas of 20 years ago in workshops?
@@zhila5958 You need to come out of your basement. There's plenty of toyotas at the workshop just as much the jeep is.
@@oga3309 where i live despite 60% of the cars being toyota and the other 35% other japanese brands. the cars sitting in the shop are the 5% hunks of junk from the other brands, especially FCA and GM crap. i know a guy with a 2001 Nissan Sunny N16 with 750k miles and he almost never ever takes it for shops or breaks down. meanwhile the FCA junk are already falling apart despite being 4 years old at most.
even the mechanics here hate them
what is wrong with jeep compass? everything is wrong with them. their whole existence is a mistake
Jeep compass peace crap
