- Just a quick tutorial how to disconnect your vizio smart tv from the internet and how to connect. Vizio doesn't make it very easy for you disconnect I wonder why? There is Rumors they may be spying and gathering info from you for advertising purposes so this video will show you how to make your Vizio Tv not so smart!
Hey for anyone else trying to do this (method in the vid didn't work for my TV) -
Go to *Menu > Network* and then select WPS. Let it try to load/connect for a few seconds, and then cancel out or hit BACK on your remote. Hopefully your TV is now disconnected from your network.
If that still doesn't work and you're tired of looking for answers, just do a factory reset and that should take care of it.

The instructions in the video didn't work for me because selecting the network in the guided setup on chose the network, not offering to change the password. BUT, what did work was to tell the TV to connect to a hidden network (which I provided a fake SSID/name) and after it couldn't find the network, the TV was no longer connected to the prior network. Hope that helps someone.

I fuckin hate these tv’s! I’m so pissed off.
TV wifi was working find and suddenly is not picking up ANY wifi, I checked and it does have Mac numbers (they are not 0's) also I checked plugging an ethernet cable and worked. I can connect other TV's and devices to the router with no problems, any ideas?

I have a smartTv and it expects me to connect via phone.
Since I changed the WiFi's password it fails to connect or show me an option to change network settings.
That's my problem as well. I've got a "basic" remote that doesn't have a menu option at all. How I managed to set up the internet is beyond me
So I found out that I can only get it running through the Vizio App. I connected it from the Wi-Fi that the TV emits to my iPhone.

Does anyone know how to lock the tv so that when you are linked to the internet no one in the house can link to your tv and change what you are watching! I say this because people in my house like to play jokes and always kick me out by logging into UA-cam on my tv when I am watching Netflix or Hulu and I want to see if there’s a way to block when from linking

So mine says network disconnected but it still says the name of my wifi. Does that mean it's still connected?
BillieTheGamer should be disconnected. it just recognizes the name of your router it automatically searches for available connections when disconnected.
Ok I just factory reset my tv and skipped the wifi part thanks anyways

Thanks, I'm connected via Router wired. I just pulled the cable because WiFi setup was not working till I disconnected from the ethernet port. You're right no "disconnect whatsoever"! I was considering an Admin REset but I have too much to REconfigure. Thanks again this video gave me the idea to Disconnect" and in my case, A cable. BTW I'm unable to Cast or Mirror from my iPhone till i move it to Wifi, go figure.
