THANK YOU! You don't know JUST HOW HAPPY I AM RIGHT NOW that you made the pistol and scream comparison. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much of the media plays pistols off as pepe shooters, while a 50 Cal. Desert eagle or Wheel gun would blow out your bloody ears if shot repeatedly close to the ear without expensive ear protection, and even that will hardly keep out the noise.
I think my favorite dorky thing in Die Hard is near the end-when McClane is facing the exploding elevator in the atrium and the sprinklers come on. The sound effect is literally someone going "pssssshhhhhhh" with their mouth. Once you hear it, you can't unhear it.
Also the pistols is using is a m9 beretta, it holds 17 bullets. Also the c4 has blasting caps that are shock sensitive so there is no need for a detonator
John's gun, the Beretta 92FS, is capable of holding 17 9x19 Parabellum Cartridges. Therefore, he hasn't "unlocked the infinite ammo" cheat, he has merely emptied his gun.
Bad news everyone: Alan Rickman was confirmed to have passed away at age 69 today. I'm sad now. ;( *RIP* *Alan* *Rickman* We love you, Professor Snape.
I hope you review The Force Awakens and tear it apart. That hack JJ Abrams didn't even include Jar Jar and midiclorians in the film. Disgraceful, he was the key to all this.
+George Lucas Shut up! You should burn in hell for those six terrible kiddie sci fi movies. You, Spielberg, Coppola, and Scorsese are all talent- less hacks.
At 12:28 the reason John threw the gun was that the magazine flew out the gun and so decided to throw it because a gun doesn’t really work best when it’s empty. It goes by real fast so I understand why you missed it, you can also hear something with a spring sound drop so that must of been it too.
Fun Fact: While Michael Kamen did the score for *"DIE HARD",* they actually used a music cue by John Scott from the film: *"Man on Fire"* (1987) for when John & Holly got out of Nakatomi Plaza and meets Powell for the first time. And when Karl gets gunned down by Powell (who completed his redemption arc), the music being played is an unused music cue by the late James Horner from another FOX/Disney film: James Cameron's *"ALIENS"* (1986).
Another great review here. I really am amazed that you managed to find so much of the source material which inspired Die Hard; I mean, that just shows total commitment.
One could argue the hacker guy doesn't really count to the number of terrorists, since he never interacts with McClane or kills anyone directly. The police and such could very well not even know he's there. I dunno though.
I watch Die Hard for one guy: Reginald FN VelJohnson! Yesterday I was in a game store and saw that they had Die Hard on a shelf with other Christmas movies. I walked over to the counter and personally thanked them for recognizing Die Hard as a Christmas movie.
Awesome as always, Suspect. I saw bits and pieces of Die Hard as I'm not really into action movies, but I love your review and the comedic bits you threw in.
+Carlos Aubert I think this is how it goes 1. John kills Tony after his neck breaks falling down stairs 2 & 3. John shoots Heinrich and Marco when trying to get Powell's attention 4 & 5. James and Alexander die after John sends C4 down Elevator Shaft 6 & 7. Fritz and Franco get shot by John in shootout where John gets foot injured by glass 8. Ulli gets shot by John as he heads up to the roof to save the hostages 9. Eddie gets shot in the head by John in the final showdown with Hans 10. Hans falls to his death 11. Karl gets shot by Powell at the end 12 & 13. 2 terrorists survive I think. Theo gets knocked out by Argyle and Kristoff gets knocked out by John.
suspect i wanted to say that you are one of my first youtubers i have ever watched and no matter what you will always the most awesome/ funny person ever!
Great video! Never been into Die Hard or many other movies you reviewed, but always after I watch them I suddenly get into them. Looking forward to your opinion on "The Force Awakens". And your future reviews of course!
That was an excellent movie review from you. I greatly enjoyed watching Die Hard along with the film's clones Under Siege 1 and 2, Passenger 57, Executive Decision, Air Force One, Toy Soldiers, Demolition High, and Final Voyage.
About the infinite ammo comment: the gun he's using in that scene is a Beretta M9 which has a standard capacity of 15 +1 rounds of 9mm. They also show that the slide of the gun is locked back once he's done firing, showing that the gun is all out of ammo. I actually have to give them props for only being one round off lol
Please don't do Die Hard 2 for next Christmas because, I don't think it has the Christmas spirit that much so maybe Santa clause is coming to town or a nightmare before Christmas
+The Unusual Suspect Honestly, I enjoyed your review of Die Hard far more than the actual film, IDK maybe I'm just not into that kinda action film. I'm actually looking forward to a lot of the sequels coming out in '16.
a couple of things you forgot to mention, unusual, which i think that should be noted on a Extended edition of this review: one thing that happens Before a Lot of the gunfights, is a Newscast scene where the reporter is explaining to her guest about why the terrorists are acting the way they are, and it backs a fictional book in the movie called "terrorist hostage, hostage terrorist" later, the two agent johnsons ask the city to turn off grid 212, dwyane is like "maybe i should just call the mayor" and agent johnson is Like "lose the grid" when this happens, nakatomi goes dark for about a minute , before going to backup power then the terrorists open the bank vault inside of nakatomi, when this happens in the scene a variation of beethoven's ode to joy plays which not only has theo banging a knight armor But also the two agent johnsons walking down steps like fools saying something related to the robbery
Excellent "review"! I laughed all the way through it. Die Hard is one of my favorite Christmas movies, right up there with A Christmas Story and It's A Wonderful Life. Thank you for the Christmas night laughs! :)
Suspect, I've loved your videos for years! Your the funniest reviewer I've ever watched quite frankly, u somehow make a hilarious but also relatively serious movie review in all your reviews. So cheers! However, do u know roughly when you are going to review the amazing Spiderman 2? If you do, please let me know as I literally can't wait for it! Thank you, and happy new year you legend!

Naw, I think that the first one, The Phantom Menace was the worst. Also, I don't count The Force Awakens as a Star Wars film because it doesn't fit in with the originals or the prequels.
In regards to the ambulance, I think only Gruber, Theo, Karl and a couple of others would escape in it. I think the rest would use the lorry they arrived in to smash though the barricade and act as a decoy, while the ambulance would slip away. Funny review BTW, hope you review Die Hard's 2 and 3 soon, as 1-3 are the true Die Hard's. 4 and 5 have their moments, but are mediocre at best.
Thanks man, though I'm not sure the terrorists would agree to that plan as smashing through the barricade would easily get the cops attention. They wouldn't stand a chance of escaping.
Well, if the cops were busy chasing the lorry, then the ambulance could slip away. Of course, the real reason for this plot hole, is because the writers basically made it up as they went along. One funny thing in the scene with Takargi's murder is when it's revealed that Karl and Theo had a bet on. Another funny joke is Uli nicking chocolate bars. Of all the characters in the film, I think McClaine, Gruber and Theo had the best lines.
Yeah the amublance thing is a bit off, but I wonder what would happen if some director had done a remake if that said director had made the L.A.P.D just as dickless ?
I didn't even know you were making another review when I did my daily check of your channel this was a pleasant surprise! Now let me grab my popcorn and a soda and enjoy the video!
Zion Harris Monty Oum was the creator of the great web series RWBY, which is still going on without him (and died to food no less). Satoru Iwata was a producer at Nintendo, just for example he was the man solely responsible for squeezing Kanto into Pokemon Gold and Silver when none of the programmers could. John Pinette was a great comedian, look up one of his specials Still Hungry on Netflix.
lol I always found it weird too how in Friends they reference Die Hard yet Bruce was on the show as an original character. Another great review, Suspect!
You are getting really good with greenscreening yourself in movies

Man, can’t believe it’s been 4 years already. I hope sometime maybe next years Christmas, you may do a Die Hard 2 review.
0:24 How'd he manage to get a trailer from 1987 and get the quality MUCH higher?

When John says "Jesus Chirst" when all the glass is breaking, He could just be shocked by the amount of bullets coming at him.
The editing is one of the better aspects of the video, alongside Suspect himself.

a couple of things you forgot to mention, unusual, which i think that should be noted on a Extended edition of this review:

the gun firing 17 bullets with out reloading is possible. He has a Barreta 92 f with a double magazine. which holds 20 bullets.
