I like the look of it. I remember Irene from Girl Talks Fish had an Aqueon "frameless" tank, but it had a frame on the bottom. I like this truly frameless tank much better.
I bought this tank and was not a fan of the glass quality. I had a harder time scrubbing algae or hard water stains on the glass compared to my other tanks. Curious for your thoughts after some time 😄
I have two 14 gallons, one is a heavy planted shrimp tank, no problems there, the other is an all glo fish tank, always glass issues. Same substrate “Ultum” in both, both planted so idk, kind of weird.
When I bought mine I cut out all the clear silocone and redid it with aquarium black and it looks much better and I trust the bond better than original.
Maybe a 6 on a 1-10 just because of the time and neatness. But after the first, it drops down in difficulty a lot. Now if there’s an actual leak, it raises the difficulty since you’ll most likely need to separate the panels and silicone between them as well
Had two frameless 14s. All was fine for a year and then all of a sudden one of the two was leaking. Couldn't even find the leak but it had to be a bottom edge. I quickly moved the fish to the other tank and threw that one away. I have two size 6s now. Each with a Betta. No issues with them. My 10 gallon rectangular has a frame on the bottom. I just think the 14 gallon was too big and too heavy to not have a frame on the bottom.
@@JKFishKeeping Thanks for the quick tip, I will go back to the store today and inspect the sealing and glass angles on what they have before buying...I already got the 5 gal rimless tank but if including lids, the 14 cube is only like $5 more lol so a better deal
I got this same tank with the aqueon sale, and currently doing a leak test. Not the greatest silicone job, and the glass has some glue scuff marks from the leveling mat jammed inside, but it comes off with some elbow grease. It’s a good price, hopefully it never leaks.
i purchased the cube 60, the silicone was not good on it either, but petco gave me two tubes of silicone to re seal the tank. my biggest issue with it is the right side has a couple scratches on the outside glass that goes from the top to the bottom. most likely happened during shipping but it was the only one left so i have been trying to deal with it. you cannot see it unless it is looked at from the sides
I have a 20x10 frameless tank (unknown brand, got it from a friend). And I bought the 20x10 Aqueon hinged glass lid. And it won’t fit without falling into the tank. Is this because there is no frame at the top? If so, do I buy the 24x12 or am I able to buy a frame? Thank you!
Correct. Without seeing it I would assume this is the case. I would try purchasing the clear plastic pieces that you can put on the tank like the ones that come with the tank in this video the help catch the lid on the walls of the tank
We bought the 14 gallon and have had issues with the lid . I have never been so disappointed. We have to take the lid off completely to feed which is a hassle to begin with; putting down a towel to catch moisture and the clips keep falling off(into the tank)when we do, I'm assuming from the humidity. Why could they have not made this a hinged lid with handle like the seperate lids you can buy from them for other tanks? We will now have to create our own hinged piece to add to this lid or look for a better option.
The price 😱😱😱no petco in Canada so this tank is always expensive. I was actually at a local pet store yesterday looking at these tanks. Thought it was great that they had tops.

Yea they had those and they were cheaper but true, if there’s a frame on the bottom then I might as well get a regular tank

is it hard to do that? I'm scared and dont trust myself a lot but read lots of reviews where ppl have leaks

The 90 days warranty from Aqueon on these frameless tanks is a bit of a concern. I'm surprised that even the 14 gallon version is only 90 days.
The 60 is a year
@@myelzdavis702 That's not great. My 55 gallon rectangular Aqueon tank came with 5 yrs. They must not have that much faith in these frameless tanks.

Oh interesting. Well good thing I got the 6 then!
Ugh I'm scared!! I am debating getting the 14 because it's cool and such a good deal right now but if it leaked, it would suck so much
I think it will be hit or miss. If you’re set on it, keep your receipt as well as check all the silicone seams and get the one with the thickest bead

I hope so too. Yea the white box was glued to the bottom of mine and I had to peel off the dried glue as well 🤦♂️

Is it still that cheap full price where you live? It’s 99.99 here in Tennessee.
The 6 gallon is $70 full price here but I got it at 50% during the sale
Any updates on this tank? How do you like it?
Not gonna lie, it’s still sitting with water on a table 😅 I’ve been contemplating on the scape too much. BUT! it hasn’t leaked! So that’s a plus
@@JKFishKeeping how does it look compared to the more expensive rimless low iron tanks?
@@binaryfuzion the same honestly. I’m not a huge cube fan but the price is unbeatable when they’re on sale. Wait until they’re 50% off
I just bought the 14 and 6 today on sale.
