@AidenMoorehouse the typical car tire has a few layers to it. These layers would commonly include the outer rubber layer, a middle layer called a metal pile(s), and a radial cord. These radial cords and metal piles are essentialy just steel cables. Because of the excessive wear on the tire from lots of burnouts and drifting, the metal piles and eventually radial cords will be in contact with the road instead of rubber. This is the cause of the sparking. If the people in the video continue doing burnouts on the metal pile and radial cords. It can cause the tire to rupture, as these are responsible for most of a tires' rigidity.
Tldr- there are metal cords underneath the rubber of each tire. Wear a tire down enough, and you will basically have a metal tire. And then no tire at all.

5:45 Drag racing takes its own unique skillset... it's probably one of the least transferrable skillsets. It depends on the level of drag racing really, anything pro, not passing out while keeping a car straight that has over 3000 hp has to be one of the most commendable things in racing. ESPECIALLY Top Fuel Drag racing.

5:50 i can agree drag racing doesnt require as much skill unlike circuit racing although it requires certain skills like timing gear changes and especially starts but it still is a good sport
(Professional) Drag racing requires very quick reaction times, good judgement of the surface grip, precision gear changes in lower brackets, absolute control of the car in higher brackets (good enough is not enough unless you want to spin and crash to the wall) and some really big willpower knowing you strapped yourself into a car that may or may not bomb itself if you rev it the wrong way for just a second or the mechanics are bumbling around with your car.

The sport of drag racing has less to do with driver skill than it has to do with engineering and tuning. Sure, a good driver can make the difference, but cars built for drag racing are more impressive than the guy behind the wheel (unless hes the builder of course)
